Vincent Foldvary, 79, of North Versailles, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999. He was born April 10, 1920, in Czechoslovakia. He is survived by his wife, Elvira Lux Foldvary; three daughters, Eva Mediate of Irwin, Annamarie Tyburski of North Huntingdon, and Julia Russo of Robinson Township; two grandchildren; and a sister, Magda Lelovish. A private memorial service was held at the Christian Life Church, Trafford. Arrangements by the FORGIE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, East McKeesport.
Leo T. Karg, 95, of West Mifflin, on Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999. Father of Vicki Plues, James, Thomas, and Eugene. Brother of Marie Hilgeman and Eileen Nasky. Also, 23 grand- and great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at HUNTER-EDMUNDSON-STRIFFLERS', 600 Market St., McKeesport, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Perpetua Church. Interment will follow.
Joseph A. Konchak, 74, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, in UPMC McKeesport. He was born April 5, 1925, in Wall, a son of the late Stephen and Mary Kralovic Konchak. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad/McKeesport Connecting Railroad as an electrician. He was a member of St. Stephen's Byzantine Catholic Church, North Huntingdon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Karasinski and Helen Bonczewski. He is survived by his wife, Adelaide Cervo Konchak; two daughters, Bernadette Alba of Winter Springs, Fla., and Elizabeth Campbell of North Huntingdon; three brothers, Anthony of Turtle Creek, Frank of Wall and Steve Konchak of North Huntingdon; four sisters, Sister Mary Sophia of Coraopolis, Mary Caso of Brooklyn, N.Y., Agnes Sigler of Elizabeth Township, and Margaret Olczewski of Avalon; and five grandchildren. Friends will be received at the SHIRLEY-KUKICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Clay Pike, Circleville, North Huntingdon, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Services and interment
will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western PA, 555 Grant St., Suite 425, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
Joseph A. Malago, 52, of Greensburg, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. He was born Nov. 13, 1947, in Uniontown, a son of the late Albert E. Sr. and Agnes M. Brajdic Malago. He was retired from Hempfield Foundries. He was a member of St. Bruno Church and the American Legion Post 981 of South Greensburg. Survived by two children, Joseph Malago and Chrissy Malago, both of Greenville, S.C.; three brothers, Albert Malago Jr. and wife, Janet, of Manor, Ron Malago of Crabtree, and Richard Malago of Canfield, Ohio; a sister, Elizabeth "Dolly" Baca and husband, Santo, of Crabtree; a special friend, Sandy Rangler of Jeannette; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME, 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, (724) 837-0020, Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Father Blane Resko, O.S.B., officiating. Sally Ondulick, 61, of Webster, passed away Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at the home of her sister. Born in Yukon, May 15, 1938, a daughter of the late John D. and Kathryn Dermota Gregory. Mrs. Ondulick was employed as a cook at the Belle Vernon Kmart restaurant. Mrs. Ondulick was also a member of the Rostraver Fire Dept. #1 (Webster) Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean C. "Dino" Ondulick. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. John (Betty) Reho of Belle Vernon; a brother, John "Jack" Gregory of Webster; several nieces and nephews; and two aunts, Frances Kodrin and Mary Fabian, both of Yukon. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Boulevard, Monessen. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at West Newton Cemetery.
Nick Spino, 77, of Greensburg, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at home. He was born May 6, 1922, in Greensburg, a son of the late Angelo Spino and Philimeno Fortana Spino Pardi. He was retired from the Elliott Co. with over 35 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army; a member of the Moose, VFW Post 33 and American Legion Post 981. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Trout Spino; his stepfather, Justin Pardi; two stepsons, John and Thomas Poole; and three brothers, John, Ralph, and Matthew Spino. Survived by a stepdaughter, Judy Stalnaker of Greensburg; a stepson, Donald Poole; two sisters, Elizabeth Felice of Burlington, N.J., and Victoria Spino of Greensburg; a brother, Justin Pardi and wife, Rose, of Latrobe; 10 grandchildren, David, Thomas, and Cassandra Poole, Brenda Rekouche, Robert "Willie", Tim, and Joe Williams, Nikki Hughes, Chris Johnson, and Donna Stairs, and their families; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Corkey and cat, Purr Purr. Relatives and friends will be received at the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME, 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, (724) 837-0020, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Greensburg. Daniel Joseph Teres, 50, of Smithton (South Huntingdon Township), died suddenly Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at his home. He was born Sept. 20, 1949, in McKeesport, a son of the late Donald and Josephine Stih Teres. Along with his wife, he was the owner of C&D Construction and Trucking Company. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Army. Also, he was a member of the American Legion in Smithton and VFW Post 7812 in West Newton, and an avid race car fan. He is survived by his loving wife, Christine Anderson Teres; a daughter, Heather Teres Schmidt and her husband, Arnie, and a granddaughter, Courtney, of Greensburg; a daughter, Stacy Lynn Teres of Virginia; a brother, David John Teres and his wife, Elsa, of Saltsburg; a sister, Deborah Jo DeClaudio and her husband, Brian, of Sutersville; and numerous aunts and uncles, and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the RICHARD F. DODSON FUNERAL HOME, 213 Main St., West Newton, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Agnes M. (Koto) Vrabel, 81, of Munhall, on Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999. Wife of John; mother of Dennis of Munhall and Gerard "Jerry" of Pittsburgh; sister of Ann Mandzak of Whitaker and Joseph Koto of Pittsburgh, and the late Mary Kushner, Helen Florian, Betty Zapf, and John and Mickey Koto. Samuel J. Benish, 92, of Irwin, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999. He was born Jan. 7, 1907, in Biddle, Pa. (North Huntingdon Township), a son of the late Sam and Catherine (Bright) Benish. He was an inspector for WABCO (Westinghouse Air Brake), Wilmerding, retiring in 1970. He was a member of Shafton V.F.D., Westmoreland County Firemen's Association, Manor American Legion Post 472, and served in the U.S. Army, 11th Armored Division, during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose (Brivec) Benish, on Dec. 24, 1973; two brothers, Thomas and Peter Benish; and a sister, Agnes Benish. Survived by a son, Charles M. and wife, Shirley Benish, of Irwin; two grandchildren, Charles Mark Benish of Herminie and Kelly Heffner of Baltimore, Md.; a brother, Mark Benish of Irwin; and a sister, Katherine Plues of Irwin. Julia J. (Wroblewski) Beris, of Chalfant, age 87, on Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999. Wife of the late John Beris; sister of Evelyn Hardek of Florida, Cecelia Zahorchak of Delmont, Lucy Miller of Fox Chapel, the late Adam Wroblewski, and the late Amelia Zahorchak. Bronwen E. "Bonnie" Branthoover, 78, of Export RD8, (Washington Township), died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, in the Beverly Health Care/Murrysville nursing home. Born February 22, 1921, in Johnstown, she graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1943, and was employed as the Washington Township School District's first supervisor of music. She was a member of the Poke Run Presbyterian Church in Mamont and, for a number of years, was the church organist and choir director. For many years, she taught private piano lessons in her home, and often served as organist for several other area churches. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert M. Branthoover; four children: Cindy Branthoover of Miami, Fla., Jeff Branthoover of Export RD2, Marianne Kapustik and her husband, Jim, of Vandergrift, and Gary R. Branthoover of Delmont; and two granddaughters, Kristen and Heather Magee of Vandergrift. Funeral arrangements are private. Should friends desire, memorial remembrances may be made in Mrs. Branthoover's name to a charity of choice. JOHN L.
