Joseph R. Divosevic, age 84, died in Wexford House on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001. He was born in Pittsburgh on March 20, 1917, son of the late Frank and Henrietta Letz Divosevic. Mr. Divosevic was president of American Machine and Engineering Corp. and charter member of Oakmont Elks Lodge 1668. Survived by his wife, Margaret Biertempfel Divosevic; a son, J. Dennis Divosevic of Sewickley; two grandchildren, Deborah and Joseph D. Divosevic Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Calley, Cullen and Joey; two brothers, Anthony and Edward Divosevic; two sisters, Anna Safron and Kean Bechtold. Preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Steve Divosevic. Visitation Wednesday and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, Ross, where services will be Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in United Cemetery, Ross. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Elks National Foundation.

Andrew Duplak, 93, on Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, in Jefferson Center Hospital, Jefferson Hills. He was born in Clairton on Dec. 24, 1907, son of the late Michael and Elizabeth Banyas Duplak. Mr. Duplak was a retired steelworker with U.S. Steel, Clairton Works. He was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church, Elrama, and AARP Clairton Hill Chapter #2862. Husband of the late Katherine (Yaksick) Duplak. Survived by nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the A.J. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 555 Fifth St., Clairton. Mass of Christian Burial Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church, Elrama, with the Rev. Robert Kohuch as celebrant. Graveside services in Ascension Cemetery, Clairton.

Jean D. Kozer Gilpin, 74, of Tarrs, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, in the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Gilpin was born July 10, 1927, in Tarrs, a daughter of the late Andy and Mary Bushta Kozer. She is survived by her loving family: her husband of 54 years, George W. Gilpin of Tarrs; two sons, Greg M. Gilpin of Mt. Pleasant and Bill P. Gilpin and his wife, Lisa, of Tarrs; a granddaughter, Amanda Gilpin; two brothers, Fred Kozer and his wife, Fay, of Hunker and Will Kozer and his wife, Audrey, of Laurelville; and a sister, Patricia McBeth and her husband, Ken, of Tarrs. In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by a brother, Robert Kozer; and a sister, Helen McGinnis. Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at GALONE-CARUSO'S, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant, where service will be held Friday at a time to be announced. Interment will be in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Tarrs.
Greensburg
Steve Harhai, 76, of Greensburg RD11, died unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, in his home. He was born May 6, 1925, in Brinkerton, a son of the late Andrew and Nellie (Zatarach) Harhai. Prior to retirement, he was the owner of the former Youngwood Exxon station and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Andrew, John and Harry Harhai; and a sister, Mary Stracka. He is survived by five children, Stephen J. Harhai and wife, Kathy, of Denver, Colo., Carol A. Harhai and her husband, Richard Merichko, of Hunker, Donald A. Harhai of Palm Springs, Calif., Marilyn K. Harhai of Clarion and Nancy J. Harhai of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren, Timothy, Richard and Jessica Merichko and John and Kathryn Harhai; a sister, Anna Klaka and husband, Mike, of Greensburg RD2; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation or viewing. The family will receive friends Saturday at noon at the Youngwood V.F.W., 108 S. Fourth St., Youngwood. Katherine Anastasia (Mislevy) Hazaga, 94, of Greensburg, formerly of McKeesport, Pa., and Cary, N.C., died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Dec. 26, 1906, in Patton, a daughter of the late Stephen and Anastasia (Puch) Mislevy. She was a member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish, Latrobe, and a former member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Cary, N.C. She was also a former member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, McKeesport, where she was active in church functions, including serving as president of the Christian Mothers Guild and International Days at Renzie Park. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Hazaga; four sisters, Mary, Sue and Rose Mislevy of Pittsburgh and Ann Homyak of Patton; five brothers, George, Michael, John, Joseph and Andrew of Pittsburgh; and a granddaughter, Cara Wingertzahn of Ogden, Utah. She is survived by two daughters, Catherine Wingertzahn and her husband, James, of Ogden, Utah, and Mimi Gromek and her husband, Edward, of Greensburg; a son, Robert Hazaga and his wife, Joan, of Lakeland, Fla.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent Basilica, Latrobe. Interment will follow in the New St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 30, North Versailles Township. The family would like to thank the Felician Sisters and staff at the St. Anne Home for the care and compassion given to Katherine Hazaga.

Jahn, who died in 1972. Dear mother of William C. Jahn of Richland, Ralph R. Jahn of McCandless and the late Oliver A. Jahn. Sister of Ruth Glass of West View. Lewis E. Johns, 94, of Friendship Village, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, on Monday, Nov. 26, 2001. Husband of 62 years to the late Nancy L. Johns. Father of Lewis E. Jr. of Alachua, Fla., James E. of Pittsburgh and David L. Johns of Baltimore, Md. Brother of Harry of Grafton, Va., Nellie Davis of Norfolk, Va., and Gladys Thomas of Lynchburg, Va. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Johns was on the board of Light of Life Ministries Inc., and was a founding member of the Sunset Hills United Presbyterian Church. He was employed by U.S. Steel for 40 years, retiring as vice-president of communications. There will be no viewing. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Sunset Hills United Presbyterian Church, 900 Country Club Dr., Mt. Lebanon. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Light of Life Ministries, or to the church. The LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL INC., Pittsburgh, in charge of arrangements.

Kathryn R. Kelso, 82, of Westmoreland City, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, in Cordia Commons, North Huntingdon. She was born Feb. 16, 1919, in Butler County, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Nichie Racioppo. She was a retired employee of the Norwin School District, and a former employee of the William Snyder Funeral Home, Irwin. She was a member of Calvary Assembly Church, North Huntingdon, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Manor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Kelso, in 1979; two brothers, John and Charles Racioppo; and a sister, Dorothy Hagar. She is survived by two sons, Edward H. Kelso Jr. and his wife, Pat, of Irwin and Robert L. Kelso and his wife, Dottie, of Westmoreland City; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel Racioppo of Plum Borough and Robert Racioppo of Pittsburgh; a sister-in-law, Ruth Kelso of Ligonier; and a very dear friend, Andy Vargo of Irwin. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Todd Neveu officiating. Interment will follow in Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
