Edith V. (Watson) Courts, 86, of Pittsburgh, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001. Wife of the late Master Sgt. Curtis Courts. Sister of Robert and wife, Nancy Watson. Aunt of Lewis Watson. Friends received Thursday 7 to 9 p.m. at the SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES LTD./MORASCO CHAPEL, 9406 Frankstown Road (near Graham Boulevard), Penn Hills, where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m.
Mill Run
Meriel Renee Bigam Bowser, 66, of Mill Run, is with her Lord. Meriel died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, in her home, as a result of a hunter's stray bullet hitting her. Meriel was born Oct. 22, 1935, in Uniontown, a daughter of Edyth Hayden Bigam of Mill Run and the late J.F. Bigam. Meriel was a wonderful and caring woman who was actively involved in her church, the Indian Creek Baptist Church in Mill Run, as well as her husband's church, the Star Junction Baptist Church. Meriel served as the Indian Creek Baptist Church clerk and was a choir member. She was an officer, both locally and for the Association of the American Baptist Women of Monongahela. She was also a member and clerk of the Monongahela Minister and Wives Fellowship. Meriel was a 50-year member of the Mill Run Grange #1109. She enjoyed the outdoors and southern gospel music. Above all, Meriel was a caregiver to her family and friends. Her touch will be missed by all. Meriel is survived by her husband of 41 years, the Rev. Roy "Don" Bowser; three daughters, Pamela Hughes and Selena Tressler, both of Mill Run, and Laverne Hager of Farmington; her mother, Edyth Hayden Bigam of Mill Run; a sister, Evelyn Louise Edwards and her husband, Wayne, of Warren; and her brother-in-law, Duane Bowser and his wife, Birdie, of Normalville. One of Meriel's greatest joys was caring for her grandchildren, Laurie Hoke, Jimmy and Leah Hughes, Zachary Tressler and Jonathan and Patrick Hager. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Linda Buhl, Kathy Smith, Jim and Wayne Edwards, Roy Bowser, Charles Bowser, Carol Hull and Denise King. Meriel was predeceased by her first husband, James N. Hensel, in 1956; her father, J.F. Bigam, in 1978; her mother-in-law, Doshia Bowser, in 1987; and her father-in-law, Roy W. Bowser, in 2001. Family and friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Additional viewing will be held Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m., the hour of a funeral service, in the Indian Creek Baptist Church, Mill Run, with the Rev. John B. Davis officiating. A committal service and interment
will follow in the Indian Creek Baptist Cemetery.
Trafford
Ella Marie Eicher Brown, 92, of Trafford, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, in Cordia Commons Nursing Home, North Huntingdon Township. She was born May 21, 1909, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Robert W. and Carrie H. Freed Eicher; and stepmother, Irene Eicher. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement, she was a nurse with Columbia Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence Eugene Brown, in 1987; a brother, Samuel Eicher; and two sisters, Theora Gilligan and Evon Eicher. She is survived by three children, Carolyn Lippis, Larry Thomas and his wife, Darla Brown, and Janice Bolton and her husband, Thomas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the DAVID A. RITTER FUNERAL HOME, 220 Edgewood Ave., Trafford, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jerry D. Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park, Monroeville.

Joseph R. Divosevic, age 84, died in Wexford House on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001. He was born in Pittsburgh on March 20, 1917, son of the late Frank and Henrietta Letz Divosevic. Mr. Divosevic was president of American Machine and Engineering Corp. and charter member of Oakmont Elks Lodge 1668. Survived by his wife, Margaret Biertempfel Divosevic; a son, J. Dennis Divosevic of Sewickley; two grandchildren, Deborah and Joseph D. Divosevic Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Calley, Cullen and Joey; two brothers, Anthony and Edward Divosevic; two sisters, Anna Safron and Kean Bechtold. Preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Steve Divosevic. Visitation Wednesday and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, Ross, where services will be Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in United Cemetery, Ross. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Elks National Foundation.

Susan T. Ondick, 89, a resident of North Versailles for 41 years, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, in Arden Court, Jefferson Borough. Wife of the late Andrew William Ondick; daughter of the late George and Theresa Shedlak Makatura; mother of Richard A. Ondick of Pleasant Hills, Leonard K. Ondick of Largo, Fla., and Howard G. Ondick of Harrisburg; sister of William Makatura of Burbank, Calif. Also three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends received at the TEICHART-GRACAN FUNERAL HOME, 212 Wilmot St., Duquesne, Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral blessing Saturday 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, 10 a.m. Mass in St. Hedwig Church with the Rev. Dennis Colamarino as celebrant. Interment following at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
North Huntingdon
Edward A. Piesik, 76, of North Huntingdon, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 19, 1924, in Port Vue, a son of the late John and Rose Wulczinski Piesik. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a tool and die maker for National Carbide and Die, McKeesport. He was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a former member of the Men's Club, the North Huntingdon VFW Post 781 and the American Legion of White Oak. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Victoria Elak and Louise Hatalovich. He is survived by his wife, Martha Slonska Piesik; a son, Bernard and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Penn Township; a daughter, Kathy DiDonato and her husband, David, of North Huntingdon; a brother, Albert Piesik of McKeesport; a sister, Marie Bendik of Elizabeth Township; and two grandchildren, Kathryn "Katie" Piesik and Jaime Queen-Beresh. Friends were received at the SHIRLEY-KUKICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Clay Pike, Circleville, North Huntingdon, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon, followed by interment

Oliver J. "Sox" Price, age 84, on Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, in Fosnight Retirement Center, Gibsonia. He was born May 19, 1917, in Renfrew, son of the late Oliver A. and Ada (Stinson) Price. Husband of Barbara (Walker) Price. Dear father of Oliver J. Price of California, Patricia Price of Richland, Susan Thompson of Alexandria, Va., Jack Price of Richland, Jeff Price of Marietta, Ohio, Dennis Price of Mars and Donna Lauff of Richland. Also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dear friend to WuWu. Friends received Thursday and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME LTD., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Funeral Service Saturday at 11 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown with the Rev Dr. David L. McDonald, pastor, officiating. Interment private. Sox was a graduate of Penn Township High School and Grove City College. He served as an Air Force 1st lieutenant in World War II, where he was chosen to a select group of servicemen to attend logistical training at Harvard and was awarded the Bronze Service Star. In 1950, he and his wife, Martha, built and established Bakerstown Golf Course, renamed Pittsburgh North Golf Club in 1969. Sox was a member of the PGA, the Pennsylvania Golf Course Owners (PGO) and the Etna Elks. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Richland Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 101, Gibsonia, PA 15044.

Gladys M. (Soles) Roberts, 74, on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001. Beloved wife of Ralph R. Roberts; loving mother of Vincent W. Zella L. Chanon Ruff, 83, of Greensburg RD11, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, in her home. She was born Nov. 6, 1918, in Perry County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ernest and Esta F. Ridenour Noyes. She had been an employee of the Hempfield School District for 35 years, and was a member of the Harrold Zion Lutheran Church, the Greensburg College Club and the Harrold Senior Citizens club. She received her B.A. degree from Capital University, Columbus, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest A. Chanon. Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Paul M. Ruff; two children, Suzanne L. Partlow and husband, Jamie, and Robert N. Chanon, all of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Frances Arbuckle of Washington, Pa., and Mary Joyce Woodburn and husband, William, of Greensburg; a granddaughter, Megan Partlow of Irwin; a sister-in-law, Louise Roberts of Dayton, Ohio; and nieces and nephews, David Arbuckle, Donna Chanon, Jean Westerman, Judy Kocinski, Jim Woodburn, Denise Brecht, Becky Carroll and MaryBeth Roberts. Family and friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Lea Grace Sisca, 46, on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, in Forbes Hospice. She was born in Pittsburgh on Dec. 26, 1954, a daughter of Johanna Sisca of Allison Park and the late Arnold J. Sisca Sr. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a sister, Nina Pletcher of Delaware; a brother, Arnold J. Sisca Jr. of Ohio; nieces and nephews. No visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Ursula Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Sharps Hill Road, O'Hara. Arrangements by the BOCK FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. Lea worked for Dr. Carl Flecker as a dental hygienist, was the former owner of Merle Norman Studio in Allison Park and practiced law in South Carolina. Most recently, she was employed as a lawyer recruiter for Management Recruiters in Jacksonville, Fla.
