John Francis Bonaroti, of Center Township, Beaver County, formerly of Oakmont and Penn Hills, on Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, after a 17-year battle with Parkinson's disease. Beloved son of Carmela (Dentino) Bonaroti and the late Michael Bonaroti. Beloved husband of Nancy Wagner Bonaroti. Father of John E. and his wife, Stacey, of Export, Eugene A. and his wife, Carrie, of Fox Chapel, Daniel M. and his wife, Heidi, of Export, Lisa Eckhart and her husband, Richard, of Virginia and Annette Waldron and her husband, Glenn, of Monroeville; grandfather of Leah Eckhart Brochu, Chris Eckhart, Marielle, Jillian, Alisha, Stephanie, Anthony, Natalie and Colter Bonaroti and Christian and Abigail Waldron; great-grandfather of Kaylie S. Brochu. Brother of Michael Bonaroti, Marie Filia and Teresa B. Sauer. John was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Church, where he served as a Eucharistic minister and commentator. John was a Navy veteran, having served aboard the USS Porterfield. John was greatly blessed with a deep love and commitment to God and his family. Friends and relatives may call at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. A Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, Oakmont. Penn Township
Louis DeMonte, 78, of Penn Township, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. He was born April 26, 1923, in Bovard, a son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Falo) DeMonte. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a custodian for the Penn-Trafford School District. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Sam, David, Meade and Ernest DeMonte. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna Mae Louch DeMonte; two sons, Louis Michael DeMonte of Gibsonia and John Joseph DeMonte and wife, JoAnn, of Oviedo, Fla.; a daughter, Rebecca Sudduth and husband, James, of Cambridge, Ohio; a brother, Frank DeMonte of Penn; two sisters, Concetta Messich of Bovard and Louise DeMase of New Alexandria; and eight grandchildren. Friends were received at the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Harrison City, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. V. Paul Fitzmaurice officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
Youngwood
Anna Amanda (Housel) Dyer, 57, of Youngwood, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Born Dec. 21, 1943, in Mill Run, she was a daughter of the late John Harrison and Phoebe Elizabeth (Pirl) Housel. She attended Deliverance Tabernacle Church, New Stanton. Surviving are five daughters, Junita Knopp of Youngwood, Lisa White of Scottdale, Melissa Smith and husband, Ernest, of Youngwood and twins, Jackie and Faith Dyer; several grandchildren; and a sister, Mary E. (Housel) Thomas of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dyer, in 1998; five half brothers, Kenneth, Ed, Clarence, William and John Housel; an infant brother, Franklin Housel; and a half sister, Susan Huffman. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., 730 W. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, where service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dolores Glodosky officiating. Interment will follow in Middle Presbyterian Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the funeral home in her name.
Latrobe
Rita C. Horak, 81, of Latrobe, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born June 16, 1920, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late John and Albina Ianni Trafficante. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Latrobe. She was retired from Kennametal Corp. with 25 years of service and had also worked at the former Toyad Corp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Amos E. Horak, on April 27, 1971; an infant daughter, Zelma Horak; two brothers, Frank and Daniel Trafficante; and three sisters, Annie Manzell, Mary Trafficante and Josephine Hernley. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald A. and Nancy O'Barto Horak of Latrobe; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Kathleen) Stumpf of Youngstown, Pa.; two brothers, Anthony Trafficante of California and Paul Trafficante of Connellsville; two sisters, Lena Wiltrout of Connellsville and Catherine Wishart of Scottdale; a grandson, Ronald A. Horak II; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation, in accordance with Rita's wishes. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass Saturday at 1 p.m. in Holy Family Church. Interment

Michael John Lacey, 69, of North Braddock, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, in the LGAR Home, Turtle Creek. Mr. Lacey was born Oct. 23, 1932, in Braddock, to the late Michael and Delia (Walsh) Lacey. Beloved husband of Bernice (Kajder) Lacey. Loving father of Rhonda Ann Chamberlin and her husband, Randy, of West Palm Beach, Fla., Nancy Jo Duray and her husband, Ken, of North Versailles and Mika Delia Lacey of Philadelphia. Loving grandfather of Nikki Pham, Marissa Valencia, Daniel Chamberlin, Amanda and Alexis Duray. Great-grandfather of Lucius Pham. Brother of Della Cosgrove. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME INC., 7441 Washington St., Swissvale.
