Mario J. Massetto, 84, of Kepple Hill, Parks Township, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, at the Cedars of Monroeville, where he was a patient for three weeks. He was born Oct. 25, 1915, in Wilpen, a son of Peter and Louisa Carletto Massetto. Mario was a member of St. Gertrude's Roman Catholic Church and was a graduate of Vandergrift High School, Class of 1935. Mario lived in Vandergrift for the past 50 years. Mario worked for Brock before starting the Massetto Livery Service, which he retired from in 1970. Mario grew up as a farmer and was an avid gardener up until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Theresa Troiano Massetto, in 1986; and a brother, Jesse J. Massetto. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Fairman Massetto; a son, Peter M. Massetto and his wife, Karen Silvis Massetto, of Freeport; two daughters, Mary Louise Kaminski and Madalyn Caperell, both of North Huntingdon; four grandchildren, Lance J. Massetto of Irwin, Jeffri A. Kaminski of Washington, D.C., Kerry Caperell of North Huntingdon, and Christy L. Kaminski-Donofrio of Greensburg; two great-grandsons, Anthony J. Massetto and Adam J. Donofrio; and five stepchildren. Friends will be received at the BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 429 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Gertrude's R.C. Robert R. "Eppy" Miller Sr., of Millvale, on Friday, Nov. 19, 1999. Husband of the late Edith M. (Young) Miller; and father of the Rev. Linda Miller-Pretz, Robert R. Miller Jr., Richard Miller and Kathy Burkhart. Also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 12 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the JACK W. AMICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 512 Grant Ave., Millvale. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at First United Church of Christ. Everyone please meet at church. Marjorie L. Milligan, 81, of Monroeville, formerly of Murrysville, died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, in Independence Court, Monroeville. She was born June 12, 1918, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late William and Sarah Hill Irish. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Murrysville; was employed by the Franklin Regional School District for many years; assisted with the Murrysville Meals on Wheels; and was a former member of the Murrysville Women's Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert H. Milligan Jr. She is survived by four children, Bert Milligan and his wife, Ann, of Export, Nancy Grubich and her husband, Gary, of Delmont, Bill Milligan and his wife, Kathy, of Richmond Hills, Ga., and Mark Milligan and his wife, Lisa, of Naples, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Shelley, Aaron, Emily, Matthew, Mark, Kristin, Rebecca, Michael and Meghan; and a brother, William Irish of Virginia. Visitation Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, 3103 Lillian Ave., Murrysville. A service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Murrysville with Dr. T. Ewen Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. If desired, memorials may be made to the church or to the Murrysville Meals on Wheels.
Beverly A. Rankin, 71, of Greensburg, formerly of the McKeesport area, died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born March 28, 1928, in Johnstown, the daughter of the late J.R. Harvey and Mildred Harvey Dollar. She was a retired registered nurse and former employee of McKeesport Hospital. She was a member of the McKeesport Nurses Alumni Association, the O.E.S. of White Oak, and the White Shrine. She had been a graduate of the McKeesport School of Nursing Class of 1950. She is survived by her husband, Charles W. "Bill" Rankin; two sons, Patrick S. and his wife, Jill A. Rankin, of Elizabeth Township, and T. Brent and his wife, Lori Rankin, of Smithton; a brother, R.J. Harvey of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a grandson, Patrick Rankin. Family and friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Monday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Dean A. Davidson officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillview Cemetery.
Joe A. Trozzo, 95, of Monessen, died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, in the William Penn Care Center. Born in Washington, Pa., Dec. 24, 1903, a son of the late Patsy and Rose Peluso Trozzo. He was a resident of Monessen for over 75 years, and a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. He was a former member of the Sons of Italy and the Italian Mutual Aid Society. He was also a member of the Garibaldi Society of Dunlevy. He was retired from the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Monessen plant, having worked in the blast furnace department. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Patsy S. and Betty Trozzo of Murrysville, and Carmine A. and Lorraine Trozzo of Monessen; seven grandchildren, David, Larry, Ronald, Timothy, Joseph, and Richard Trozzo, and Patti Roman; also four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susie (Orrico) Trozzo on Nov. 6, 1999. Friends will be received Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Funeral services will be held Monday with a 9:30 a.m. blessing service in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. Leonard C. Sabatine, 87, of Greensburg, died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Aug. 20, 1912, in Sicily, Italy, a son of the late Charles and Jane Campo Sabatine. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by Walworth Valve Co. He was also a member of the A.M.S. Club of South Greensburg, the A&B Club of Youngwood, Knights of Columbus Council 1480 and the Hilltop Social Club, where he bowled, both of Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Crimbly Sabatine; a sister, Mary Nicolai; and two brothers, Sam and Phillip Vitello. He is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Dudash and husband, Albert, of Grosse Ile, Mich.; four grandchildren, Albert J. Dudash Jr., Mary Beth Nelson, Kristen Shankster and Gregg C. Dudash; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Gertrude DeAngelo of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will be received at the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME, 409 W. Frank J. "Pie" Sabatine, 87, of Greensburg, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, at his home. He was born July 15, 1912, in Greensburg, a son of the late John and Addolorato Germano Sabatine. Prior to retirement, he had been the owner and operator of Sabatine's Tire Mart. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg; a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, serving as an airplane mechanic; a member of the Hilltop Social Club; Hilltop Bowling League; the Monday Senior Citizens Bowling League; and a former member of the AMVETS Post #88, Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, infant Frank, James, Anthony "Gabe, " Thomas, and August Sabatine; and a sister, Mary Ann Sabatino. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Florence M. Damico Sabatine; and his children, Joan and her husband, Joseph Zahorchak, of Greensburg, Frank J. and his wife, Elizabeth Sabatine, of Muncie, Ind., Natalie Sabatine of Pittsburgh, and Richard P. and his wife, Janice Sabatine, of Cranberry Township; seven grandchildren, Mark and his wife, Jessica Zahorchak, Michael Zahorchak, Catherine Sabatine, Julia Sabatine, Teresa Sabatine, Vincent Sabatine, and Elaina Sabatine; two brothers, Mike and his wife, Ginger Sabatine, of Auburn, Wash., and Joseph "Jots" and his wife, Antoinette Sabatine, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Flora Belle Cortese Blackburn Sherbondy, 86, of Hempfield Towers in Hempfield Township, passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 17, 1999, at 7:21 p.m. in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Family and friends will be received at the ROBERT B. Tracy (Martha) Earley-Silberman. Amazing and very loved wife of James C. Silberman, passed away from her pain early Friday morning, Nov. 19, 1999. She leaves her loving son, Patrick Earley of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Leslie Adelsheim of Boston, Mass., and Julie Silberman of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a son, Todd Silberman of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; also surviving are her sister, Mary Kay Golomb; granddaughters, Sara and Rachel Adelsheim; two nephews; and her father and stepmother, William and Alpha Schultz of Pawley's Island, S.C. A wonderful lady with inner strength and a never-failing sense of humor who touched all our lives. Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at H. Steve J. Uschak, 75, of Derry, died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Aug. 1, 1924, in Loyalhanna, a son of the late Jacob and Anna Uschak. He was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Bradenville. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by Teledyne-Vasco Co., Latrobe. He was also a member of the Greek Club, Knights of Columbus 940 and American Legion Post 515, both of Latrobe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Julian, Russell, Pete, Michael, John and Paul Uschak; and a sister, Mary Uschak. He is survived by his wife, Josephine M. Glamp Uschak; three sons, Stephen J. Uschak and his wife, Joy, of Greensburg, David F. Uschak and his wife, Stephanie, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Dean R. Uschak of Somerset; a daughter, Susan M. Hook of Rockwood, Pa.; two brothers, Joseph Uschak of Loyalhanna and Nicholas Uschak of Derry RD2; two sisters, Ann Staschak and her husband, Michael, of Derry RD2 and Helen Bryan and her husband, George, of Derry RD2; seven grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
