Randy Lee Holby, 45, of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., formerly of New Alexandria, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at his home. Complete funeral arrangements will be announced by the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC. AT TWIN VALLEY, 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, (724) 468-1177. Kevin P. Altman, supervisor, in charge.
George R. Kardell, of West Mifflin, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999. Husband of Paula Kardell; two sons, Kenneth of Duquesne and Wayne of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Louise Zavodny and Anne Guthrie; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Kardell; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main St., Munhall. Funeral service Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment Monongahela Cemetery, North Braddock. He was a retired Port Authority bus driver and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.
Walter C. "Wally" Kiser, 60, of Derry RD3, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999. He was born Sept. 9, 1939, in Port Vue, a son of the late John and Christine Gochnour Kiser. He was employed in customer service for AGL Inc. of Wall, had retired from Equitable Gas Co. with 37 years of service, and had formerly sung with the "Twiliters" from McKeesport. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Zachary; and his mother-in-law, Louise C. Puschman. Wally is survived by his wife, Cathy M. Puschman Kiser; a son, Justin W.; and a daughter, Stephanie L., all at home; four brothers, John Allen Kiser of Mt. Vernon, Donald Kiser of Port Vue, Gary Kiser of Jeannette and Kris Kiser of Homestead. The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the MICHAEL J. QUINLISK FUNERAL HOME INC., 548 N. Chestnut St., Derry. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. Joseph Church with the Rev. Stephen C. West as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Derry.
Dolores J. Kozar, 71, of Tarrs, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born Feb. 8, 1928, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Josephine Isola Tate. Mrs. Kozar was a member of the East Huntingdon Firemen's Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Visitation Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Kozar, in March 1992. She is survived by her loving family: her children, Robert H. Kozar and his wife, Cindy, of Ruffsdale, David J. Kozar, Thomas E. Kozar and William P. Kozar, all of Tarrs, and Tracey Kuchar and her husband, William, of Ruffsdale; two grandchildren, William Kozar Jr. and Kristi Kozar, both of Greensburg; and two sisters, Ann Bierer of Tarrs and Betty Hagood of Cheyenne, Wyo. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Tate; and two sisters, Marie Germano and Geraldine Shondelmyer. Friends will be received Tuesday from 12 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at GALONE-CARUSO'S, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Visitation R.C. Church, Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Anthony W. Ditto as celebrant. Interment Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
Rose M. Marne, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, died Monday morning, Nov. 22, 1999, at Latrobe Area Hospital. Rose was born July 5, 1910, in Catanzaro, Italy, a daughter of the late Costontino and Michelena Donato Caroleo. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and was also a member of the Ladies Lodge Sons of Italy, Sons of Columbus Ladies Lodge and also a member of the Ladies of Mt. Carmel and the Mt. Pleasant Senior Citizens. Rose was the loving mother of Peter F. Marne and his wife, Bonnie, of Kecksburg, and Richard J. Marne at home; three grandchildren, Beth Ann Giles and her husband, James, Peter Scott Marne and his wife, Johanna, and Keith David Marne and his wife, Jill; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Scott Marne, Kathryn Rose Giles, and Noah Robert Marne; a sister, Mrs. Carmela Rega of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Marne, in 1973. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in the St. Pius X R.C. Church with the Rev. Father Michael W. Matusak as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Pius X Cemetery. Parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 3 p.m. The Ladies of Mt. Carmel Society of St. Pius will recite the rosary in the funeral home Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Thomas F. Moogan Sr., 87, of Wellsville, N.Y., died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, in his home. On Jan. 15, 1946, in Imperial, Pa., he married the former Laura Logan, who predeceased him on April 14, 1994. Surviving is a daughter, L. Christine Moogan of Olean, N.Y. He was predeceased, in addition to his wife, by a son, Thomas F. Moogan Jr., on Aug. 24, 1993. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the J.W. EMBSER SONS FUNERAL HOME INC., Wellsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 27, at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville. A prayer service will precede the Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellsville. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Edward T. Saint, 96, of Greensburg, formerly of Grapeville, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born July 28, 1903, in Jeannette, a son of the late John T. Saint and Mary Millet Saint Joyce. Prior to retirement, he was an employee of the Hempfield Area School District. He was also a former self-employed electrician. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Blanche Saint; three brothers, Charles, William, and Isaac Saint; two sisters, Lucy Baker and Myrtle Baker; and three grandchildren, Gary, Henrietta, and Diane Saint. Survived by two sons, George E. Saint and his wife, Charlotte, of Greensburg and Edward T. Saint Jr. and wife, Ilene, of Grand Prairie, Texas; two daughters, Audrey Czerpak of Delmont and Mary Jackie Mattrisch and husband, Arnold, of Wisconsin. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Martin R. Koss officiating. Interment will follow in the Jeannette Memorial Park, Penn Township.
Carolyn Marie Supancic Bold, 86, of Penn, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, in Beverly Healthcare, Murrysville. She was born Jan. 28, 1913, in Claridge, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Lazar Supancic. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church of Penn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Leo Bold; a son, Alan; two brothers, John and Frank Supancic; and a sister, Mollie Supancic. Survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Price and her husband, Richard, of Forest Hills and Alberta Cervenak and her husband, Ron, of Murrysville; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Pete and Bill Supancic, both of Claridge; two sisters, Annie Rednock of Export and Elsie Freustorfer of Bethel Park; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends were received at the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Boniface Church, Penn. John W. "Jack" Burwinkel Sr., died suddenly Friday, Nov. 19, 1999. Beloved husband of Lois Ifft Burwinkel. Father of John W. Burwinkel Jr., Beth Burwinkel Shafer, and the late Loann Burwinkel. Brother of Lawrence G. Burwinkel and the late Kenneth C. Burwinkel. Also, survived by seven grandchildren. Friends will be received at the JOHN A. Mary Golek, 85, of South Greensburg, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Feb. 24, 1914, in Youngwood, a daughter of the late John and Katherine Hutec Smolka. She was a member of St. Bruno Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Golek; a daughter, Mary Kay Golek; two sisters, Erma Smolka and Catherine Johnson; and five brothers, Stephen, Michael, George, Albert and John Smolka. She is survived by two brothers, Joseph Smolka and Thomas Smolka and wife, Martha, all of Youngwood; two sisters, Ann White of Greensburg and Josephine Perintozzi of Monongahela; and several nieces and nephews. Viewing will be private. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 2 p.m. in St. Bruno Church, South Greensburg, with Father Blane Resko, O.S.B., as celebrant.
