Alfretta G. Swaney, 83, of Smithton RD, South Huntingdon Township, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born June 16, 1918, in Smithton, a daughter of the late Robert R. and Lucy M. Smith Sethman. She was a retired housekeeper, having worked at Westmoreland Manor, and also worked at Christy Park during World War II. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Smithy, Robert and Marion Sethman; and six sisters, Myrna Mellander, Gertrude Cornell, Oral Pugh, Gladys Williams, Lucy Pearl Sethman and Sadie Gonda. She is survived by a daughter, Sally Jo Swaney, and a son, William C. Swaney, both of Smithton RD; and two granddaughters, Diana Lynn Swaney and Ann M. Davis-Gluyas. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the L.L. BARTHELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Second Street, Smithton. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. James Kutz and the Rev. Herbert Peterson co-officiating. Interment will be in the Barren Run Cemetery, South Huntingdon Township.

Rose M. Yaklich of Penn Hills, on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001. Beloved wife of the late Charles E. Yaklich. Mother of Charles Yaklich and wife, Janet, Betsy Yaklich, and Robin Gareis and husband, Al. Grandmother of Tina Jurick and husband, Michael, Heather and Alan Gareis, Melanie, Melissa and Charles Yaklich Jr. Sister of Anna Mae Wylie, Anthony and Gloria O'Block, Donna Ufert, and the late Shirley Girdich and Edward O'Block. Paul G. Collins, age 53, on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, in Allegheny General Hospital. He was born in Pittsburgh, a son of Charles E. Collins Sr. of Ross and the late Thecla Geisler Collins. Survived by his wife, Margaret Walkup Collins; two sons, Martin P. of Tarentum and Brian P. of Penn Hills; two daughters, Erin K. of Jeannette and Caitlin E. of Penn Hills; one brother, Charles E. Collins Jr. of Ellwood City; two sisters, Thecla Romeo of Monaca and Mary Alice Jack of Baden; also by nieces and nephews. Visitation Saturday and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the T.B. Thomas Crone, age 84, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001. He was born in Parton, England, resided in South Park for 50 years and was formerly of Munhall. Mr. Crone was a retired superintendent of Mesta Machine and Roll Shop with 46 years of service. He was a former soccer player, basketball player and basketball official in the district. He was also a charter member of the Windover Hills United Methodist Church. Survived by his wife, Geraldine (Thomkins) Crone of South Park; a son, Thomas G. (Mary M.) Crone of Murraysville; two nephews and three nieces. Brother of the late James Crone. Gwen M. Harris, 91, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001 at her home in Ross Twp. She was born in Ellsworth, Pa., Sept. 24, 1910, daughter of William Hargest and Emily Ann Blenmann Hargest. Survived by her daughter, Diane H. Goff and her husband William of Ross, a son, David W. Harris Jr. and his wife Shirley, of Port Orange, Fla., three grandchildren, Julie Shivers, Jonathan Goff and Andrew Goff; two great-grandchildren, Amber Shivers and Alex Shivers.
