Joan Mary Dellapenna, 62, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of North Huntingdon, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at her son's home in Tampa. She was born Sept. 12, 1937, in Elizabeth, N.J., a daughter of the late Leroy and Mary (Mack) Crist. Joan was a homemaker and a former member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, North Huntingdon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Charles P. "Chuck" Dellapenna Jr., on Oct. 9, 1998. Mrs. Dellapenna is survived by three sons, Paul Butterly and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Rahway, N.J., Michael Butterly and his wife, Nanette, of Tampa, Fla., and David Butterly and his wife, Joshanna, of Boca Raton, Fla.; a stepson, Steven Dellapenna of Altoona; a daughter, Joanne Kavulick and her husband, Adam, of Greensburg; a stepdaughter, Beverly Polite of New Jersey; six grandchildren and her granddaughter, Megan Butterly, whom she raised; seven step-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph and James Crist, both of New Jersey; three sisters, Barbara Rinebold, Gloria Shields, and Roberta Hoffman, all of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, North Huntingdon. Interment will follow in the Irwin Union Cemetery.
Harrison A. Farren, 88, of Youngwood, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999. He was born June 24, 1911, in Derry, the son of the late John and Mary Ruffner Farren. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, and was retired from RobertShaw Controls. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Senior Citizens and Council, and past president of the Men's Club, all of the church. Also, he was a member and past master of Philanthropy Lodge #225; a 33rd Degree member of the Valley of Pittsburgh, Urania Chapter; a member of the Olivet Council; Kedron Commandery; secretary of the Greensburg Caravan #8 of the Syrian Temple; Red Cross of Constantine-Johnstown; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Westmoreland Forest; Joshua Association Southwestern Pa.; Conemaugh Gap York Rite College; Lions Club of Youngwood; a charter member of the Youngwood Historical and Railroad Association; VFW Post #211; and Armbrust Veteran's Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ada F. Ross Farren, in 1991; and two sisters, Cleo Farren, in 1917, and Hazel I. Lopes, in 1966. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Connie Ross Sachs of Hunker RD1, Lynn Lopes of Youngstown, Pa., Kay Byers Spriggs of Johnstown, Scott Ross of Fort Payne, Ala., Diane Ross Buchman and James F. "J.R." Ross, both of Greensburg; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, where service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Merritt Edner officiating. Interment Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg. Masonic service Monday at 7 p.m. and Lions Club service at 8 p.m., both in the funeral home.
Duane Evan Fritz, 56, of Ligonier, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Oct. 23, 1943, in Waterford, a son of the late Joseph Evans and Jessie Marie (Roddy) Fritz. Duane had been employed as a sales representative for the Tilton Equipment Co. of Rye, N.H. He was a member of the Waterford Christian Church and the Ligonier Township Sportsmen's Club. He had also coached baseball and football for the Waterford teams. He loved to hunt in all manners, i.e., muzzle loader, gun, archery, and always looked forward to the start of hunting season. But the most important part of his life was his wife, children, and grandchildren, and the deep abiding love he shared with them. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves on the USS Wyandot AKA92 and the USS Ault DD698 with the rank of Radarman 2nd Class. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Edna Mae Kirtland Fritz; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Kathy) Allison of Ligonier; two sons, Scott A. and wife, Kathy Fritz, and Joseph Brandon and wife, Heather Fritz, both of Ligonier; four wonderful grandchildren, Brandi Allison, Jeremiah, Jessie, and Brandon Evan Fritz; two sisters, Mrs. Douglas (Marjorie) Riffle and Mrs. Robert (Beatrice "Rach") Kissell, both of Ligonier; a brother, Clarence "Zeke" Eisaman of Alexandria, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McCABE FUNERAL HOME INC., 244 W. Main St., Ligonier. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Waterford Christian Church, Ligonier, with the Rev. Samuel A. Batten and the Rev. Sherrill J. Fritts co-officiating. Interment Green Mountain Cemetery, Ligonier. Memorial contributions may be made to the Waterford Christian Church. The Ligonier Valley Veteran's Honor Guard will present full military honors at the graveside.
Dorothy M. Gault, 90, of Henderson, Ky., died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, in the Community Methodist Hospital of Henderson. She was a member of the United Church of the Nazarene, where she was a children's Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also a member of the Zion Homemakers Club and the Homemakers Chorus. She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Gault, in 1976. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Mrs. Dorothy Norris and husband, Seaton, of Henderson; a stepson, Robert Gault and wife, Doris, of Jeannette; a sister, Annabelle Muller of Troy; and a brother, Paul Glunt of McKeesport. Also, surviving are 14 step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; step-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert W. Gault, pastor of the Hatcher's Memorial Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Jeannette Memorial Park, Penn Township. Memorial donations are suggested to the United Church of the Nazarene, and/or Gideon's International.
Nancy E. Good, 49, of Edgewood, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, in AUH-Forbes Hospice, Pittsburgh. She was born April 29, 1950, in Wilkinsburg, a daughter of Oscar T. and Vera Bossard Good of Murrysville. She was a 1968 graduate of Franklin Regional High School and attended the Pittsburgh Art Institute. She was a secretary for Alcoa for 22 years and recently a secretary for Allegheny Teledyne. She was a member of the Alcoa retirees. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Judy Kostic and her husband, Bernie, of Falls Creek, Pa.; and a nephew, Michael Kostic of New Castle. Visitation Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, Murrysville. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. in the North Point Cemetery, North Point, Pa. If desired, memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America (Camp Mountain Run), 209 First St., DuBois, PA 15801.
Homer H. Klein, 79, of Latrobe, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at home. He was born May 1, 1920, in Latrobe, the son of the late Hansen Klein and Irene Noel Klein Beuten. He was a member of St. Rose Church, Latrobe, and was retired from Latrobe Steel Co. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion Post 515, Latrobe; the Cooperstown Veterans and Sportsmen's Club; the Kingston Veterans and Sportsmen's Club; the Derry Rod and Gun Club; the Millwood Sportsmen's Club; and the Senior Bowling League at Lincoln Lanes. The Cooperstown residents will remember him as an avid gardener. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Fred W. Beuten; and a sister, Elizabeth Klein. Survivors include his wife, Katherine M. Lamke Klein; two sons, Fred Klein and wife, Darla, of Greensburg and Lawrence Klein of Derry; a daughter, Janet I. White and husband, John, of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Norma Byers of Latrobe; and seven grandchildren, Lisa, Lori, Lindsay, Julie, Andrew, Melissa and John Robert. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose Church, Latrobe, with the Rev. William P. Donahue as celebrant. Interment St. Rose Cemetery, Derry Township. The St. Rose Rosary Altar Christian Mothers will recite the rosary Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Military services will be held Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral home.
Anna Wagasky Kolesar, 93, of North Versailles, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, in the LGAR Home, Turtle Creek. She was born Oct. 24, 1906, in North Braddock, a daughter of the late John and Anna Hornak Wagasky. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Versailles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Kolesar; a son, John Kolesar Jr.; four brothers, John, Andrew, Michael, and George Wagasky; and a sister, Susan Martin. Survived by three daughters, Alma Fanto of Glenshaw, Vivian Fleming of Albany, Ga., and Dolores Kudravy of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sons, Alfred Kolesar of North Versailles and Donald Kolesar of Austin, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the FORGIE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard Bonds-Krug officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park, Monroeville. Anna Gash Lotinsky, 82, of Export, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999. Born June 28, 1917, in Export, a daughter of the late Carl and Anna Dydiw Gash. She was a member of St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Jeannette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lotinsky; a son, John; two brothers, Walt "Russian" Kurian and Charles Gash; and a sister, Mary Lotinsky. Surviving are a son, Carl and wife, Debra, of Saltsburg; a daughter, Carol Lotinsky and a daughter-in-law, Kathi, both of Export; a sister, Mrs. (Charles) (Stella) Cherepko, of Export; and two grandsons, Jason and Justin. Friends will be received at the EDWIN N. WOLFE FUNERAL HOME INC., Export, Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. James Warren Proctor, 76, of Delmont, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999. He was born Dec. 5, 1922, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Troley Shields and Mary Ellen Bridge Proctor. He was a retired bank manager and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Proctor; and a niece, Rosanne Proctor. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Eleanor Proctor of Murrysville; six nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Proctor, Timothy Proctor, Erin Barone, Eileen Harrison, Thomas Proctor and Theodor Proctor; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; and a dear friend and companion, Leona Fontana of Delmont, and her daughters, Sandy Fontana and Judy Massari, and her granddaughter, Renee Bittner. Visitation Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, Murrysville. A service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Dr. T. Ewen Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. If desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Francis J. Reott, 75, of Adamsburg, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at his home. He was born May 16, 1924, in Irwin, a son of the late Nicholas Joseph and Ellen Dugan Reott. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machinist for Elliott Co. of Jeannette. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the St. Boniface Church of Penn, a member of the Penn Rod and Gun Club, and a member of the Claridge American Legion Post 260. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Olga Macrania Reott; two sons, Paul Reott and his wife, Diane, of Newtown Square, Pa., and John Reott of Wegley; three grandchildren, John Paul, Alexandra and Matthew Reott; a sister, Ellen Frantz and her husband, Robert, of Greensburg; a brother, Paul Gene Reott and his wife, Dorothy, of Wegley; and nieces and nephews, Nick and Barbara Reott of Jeannette, Joseph Reott of North Huntingdon, Beverly and Wayne Null of New Stanton, Edward and Mercedes Frantz of Wexford, and Cindy and Michael Geho of Allentown. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., Fifth and Oak streets, Irwin, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the St. Boniface Church. Entombment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. A blessing service will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
