Edna F. Herr Schultz, 83, formerly of Murrysville, died April 10, 2001.
Mrs. Schultz was a 1938 graduate of Teachers College of Connecticut, and a teacher in Connecticut for most of her life. She came to Murrysville in 1995.
Surviving are her son, Paul Schultz; daughter-in-law, Loretta Schultz; and two grandchildren, Christopher and William.
Arrangements were handled by at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home in New Britain, Conn.
John "Sonny" Vukic, 64, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Murrysville and Pitcairn, died April 2, 2001.
Born Feb. 10, 1937, in Pitcairn, he was the son of Mildred Vidnovic Vukic of Pitcairn and the late Michael Vukic. Mr. Vukic was owner of Regal Dry Cleaners and Laundry, and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Knights of Columbus. An avid golfer, one of his proudest accomplishments was a hole-in-one earned this year at Winyah Bay Golf Club.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Linda Scott Vukic; his children, John Vukic of Boston, Mass., Donna Vukic of North Huntingdon, Diana Bobak of Irwin, Lisa Abd of Venetia, Pa., and Amy Sandala of Bridgeville; six grandchildren; a sister, Yvonne Tiberio; and niece and nephew, Jeff and Kim Tiberio.
Friends were received at Alfieri Funeral Home. Mass was at St. Jude the Apostle Church. Interment was at Grandview Cemetery.
Emily P. Wagner, 71, of Murrysville died April 15, 2001.
Born June 18, 1929, in Pitcairn, she was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Beradi Ross. Mrs. Wagner was a member of the Loyalhanna Quilting Guild.
Surviving are her husband, Richard Wagner; her children, Stephanie Wagner of Jeannette, Daniel Ciccotelli of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Richard Wagner II of North Huntingdon; four grandchildren; sisters, Jean Rosemark and Gloria Rock; and a brother, Rinaldo Ross.
Private arrangements were handled by the John T. Hart Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to American Lung Association, Wexford, Pa. 15090.
Lois F. Deegan, 78, formerly of Murrysville, died July 8, 2001 at Oak Hill Nursing Center in Greensburg.
Born June 8, 1923, in Murrysville, she was the daughter of Grover and Mabel (Clements) Thompson. She was the owner for 26 years of Lois' Beauty Shop in Murrysville.
Mrs. Deegan was a member of Green Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Deegan; and brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her children, Elayne Schwarzel of Delmont, Judy Russ of Altoona, John Deegan of Plantation, Fla., and Cheryl Everly of Morgantown, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; a sister, Dorothy Harshberger; and brothers, Nelson, Leslie and Robert Thompson.
Friends were received at John T. Hart Funeral Home. Services will be 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home with the Rev. Harold Kelley officiating.
Interment will follow at Plum Creek Cemetery. Mem-orial contributions are suggested to Green Valley Presbyter-ian Church, Carmichaels.
Jeffrey L. Luke, 21, of Manor died July 9, 2001, in Mercy Hospital.
Born June 30, 1980, in Jeannette, he was the son of Eric "Rick" Luke of North Huntingdon and Deborah Cummings Palangio of Manor. A 1998 graduate of Hempfield Area High School, he was an honor student at ITT Technical Institute.
Mr. Luke was a member of Brush Creek Lutheran Church and an avid skier, snowboarder and rollerbladder.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather William Cummings; and his grandmother, Grace Luke.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Michael Luke of Manor; his grandmother, Marie Cum-mings of Greensburg; his grandfather, Scott Luke of Adamsburg; a stepbrother, Justin Felt of North Hunting-don; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. today (Wednesday) and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday at William Snyder Funeral Home. Services will be at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev William Hauser officiating. Interment will follow at Brush Creek Cemetery.
Anne L. Reck, 76, of Export died July 4, 2001.
Born Dec. 10, 1924, in Bovard, she was the daughter of James and Madeline (Colonna) Vallozzi.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sereno Reck Sr.
Surviving are her children, Madelyn Green of Delmont and Sereno Reck Jr. of Export; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends were received at Edwin N. Wolfe Funeral Home. Mass was at St. Mary's Church. Interment was at Grandview Cemetery.
James E. Siford, 75, of Murrysville died July 4, 2001, in Forbes Regional Hospital.
Born Nov. 2, 1925, in Madera, he was the son of Laura Mae (Black) Siford of Madera and the late Raymond Siford. Mr. Siford was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard Siford.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia (Compton) Siford; sons, Duane of Manas-sas, Va., Robert of Apollo and Kevin Siford of Mt. Washing-ton, Ky.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at John T. Hart Funeral Home in Murrysville and Kruies Funeral Home in Madera.
Interment was in the Bloomington Cemetery in Curwensville, Pa. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Andrew "Andy" Vrudney, 84, of Murrysville died July 7, 2001.
Born May 26, 1917, in Valley Heights, he was the son of Andrew and Juliana (Skolnik) Vrudney. Mr. Vrudney was a retired station engineer with Consolidated Natural Gas Co.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and member of Poke Run Presbyterian Church, Tyrian Lodge #644 F&AM in New Kensington, Peony Lodge and Export American Legion.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Silvis) Vrudney; his children, Penny Carroll of Washington Township; Garry Vrudney of Murrysville and Robin Coldren of Murrysville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brothers, Milton and William Vrudney.
Friends were received at John T. Hart Funeral Home. Interment was at Plum Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Poke Run Presbyterian Church, 1091 Poke Run Church Road, Apollo, Pa. 15613.
Ruth Keeler, 92, of Greensburg, formerly of Delmont, died July 27, 2001, in Redstone Highlands.
Born March 18, 1909, in Shelocta, she was the daughter of Ira and Edith (Ank) Smith. Mrs. Keeler, a graduate of Franklin School of Nursing, was a former employee of Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Delmont and past president of Pittsburgh East District United Methodist Women of the United Methodist Conference. She was past district deputy grand matron of District 7 OES and served two terms as past matron of Forbes Chapter #524 OES, and, most recently, a member of Jeannette #69 OES.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. George Keeler; a daughter, Evelyn Cook; sons, Floyd and Allen Keeler; a sister, Ethel McIntyre; and brothers, Miles and Wayne Smith.
Surviving are daughters, Ruby Anderson of Murrysville and her husband, Donald, and Shirley Pratt of Thorndale and her husband, William; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Keeler; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church in Delmont with the Revs. James Wagner and Robert Wilson co-officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to Faith United Methodist Church or Order of the Eastern Star.
Neal J. Jackman, 79, of North Huntingdon died July 25, 2001, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 3, 1921, in Trafford, he was the son of Fortunato and Mary Ann (Smyder) Giacomin.
He was a retired superintendent of Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park in North Huntingdon. Mr. Jackman was a lifetime member of Hartford Heights VFD, having helped in the construction of its current building, and was honored by the fire company in ceremony after his death.
A U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, his plane was shot down during the war, but he and his fellow soldiers were quickly released by their Irish captors. His unit went on to participate in the Normandy Invasion and serve in the liberation of German concentration camps at the war's end.
He was known as a jokester and avid viewer, and purported expert, of "Wheel of Fortune." His family recalls his anonymous acts of kindness that were a matter of daily life to him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Vic Jackman and Joseph Giacomin; and a sister, Edith Kline.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Vera (Wilks) Jackman; a son, Neal Jackman Jr. of White Oak; daughters, Marianne Marshall of Greensburg, Rebecca Jackson of North Huntingdon, Dorothy Ramsey of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Marie Weston; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A memorial service was at Shirley-Kukich Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hartford Heights VFD and Adopt-A-Pet of Irwin.
