Brunecke
Dean R. Brunecke, 68, of Murrysville died July 21, 2001, in Beverly Manor.
Born Jan. 13, 1933, in Murrysville, he was the son of Charles and Rachel (Hilty) Brunecke. He was a retired employee of LTV Steel Corp.
Private arrangements were handled by John T. Hart Funeral Home. Entombment was at Twin Valley Memorial Park.

Broome
Robert H. Broome, 89, of Blairsville died July 28, 2001.
Born Sept. 9, 1911, in Wilmerding, he was the son of Harry and Lida (Jobes) Broome. Mr. Broome was a member of the Fireman's Club of New Alexandria, Blairsville Eagles and Blairsville VFW.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cathleen (Horrell) Bro-ome; and a son, Robert Bro-ome Jr.
Surviving are his children, Audrey Baker of Murrysville, Barbara Brinker of Erie, Walter Broome of Blairsville, Patricia Reck of Export, Ford Broome of Slickville and Brenda Bracken of Blairsville; a brother, Harry Broome of Williamsport; a sister, Lurline Bonner; 16 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at John T. Hart Funeral Home where services were held with he Rev. Dan Lawrence officiating. Interment was at East-view Union Cemetery.

Sontheimer
Ronald C. Sontheimer, 67, of Murrysville died July 30, 2001.
Born Nov. 16, 1933, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Carl and Mary Clara (Beck) Sontheimer. Mr. Sontheimer was a retired CPA with Leybold Vacuum Products Inc. He was a former officer in the U.S. Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Quinn) Sontheimer; and a son, Ronald Sontheimer.
Surviving are his son, Jay Sontheimer of Erie; daughters, Darcie Stewart of Delmont, Lauren Ryng of Connecticut and Leslie Markovich of Apollo; six grandchildren; and a brother, Dr. Gary Sontheimer.
Friends will be received 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today (Wednesday) at John T. Hart Funeral Home. Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Mother of Sorrows Church. Interment will follow at Braddock All Saints Cemetery.

Bossart
Wendell Beck Bossart, 81, of Mamont, died Nov. 19, 2001, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital.
Born Feb. 17, 1920, in Youngwood, he was the son of William and Irene (Beck) Bossart. Mr. Bossart was an educator and school administrator at a number of schools, including Oakmont, where he previously was assistant to the superintendent. After retirement he worked organizing the Christian Fellowship Academy. He enjoyed membership in Lion's International, Rotary International and Gideon's International. He was a pilot in the European Theatre during World War II.
Surviving are his wife of more than 54 years, Betty (Branthoover) Bossart; a son, W. Bedell Bossart of Export; daughters, Wendy Bossart of Export and W. Becky Dixon of Littleton, Colo.; a granddaughter; brother, Daniel Bossart; and a sister, Emma Lou Easley.
Friends were received at William Snyder Funeral Home with additional viewing at Christian Fellowship Center in Jeannette.
Interment was at Twin Valley Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to Christian Fellow-ship Academy, 2005 Ridge Road, Jeannette, PA 15644 or Free Gospel Bible Institute, P.O. Box 477, Export, PA 15632 or Gideons International, P.O. Box 45, Irwin, PA 15642.

Sampson
Lois Jena Sampson, 69, of Murrysville died Nov. 23, 2001.
Born July 29, 1932, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of John Tomer and Zelma Mae (McLaughlin) Wurmb.
She was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church.
Surviving are her husband, Ronald Sampson; four children, Scott of Charleston, S.C., Stanley of Marletta, Ga., Mark of Monroeville and Kim Sampson of Pittsburgh; and four grandchildren, Kara, Chase, Erica and Kirby.
A memorial service was at St. Alban's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Myron Manasterski officiating. Local arrangements were handled by John T. Hart Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 4920 Cline Hollow Road, Murrysville, PA 15668.

Kline
Florence Kline, 86, of Manor died Nov. 16, 2001, in North Huntingdon.
Born April 17, 1915, in Yukon, she was the daughter of William and Sarah (Hamill) Watson. Mrs. Kline was a member of United Church of Christ in Manor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Hamilton, who was killed in action during World War II.; her second husband, Howard Kline; and sisters, Rebecca Neleigh, Loretta Knable and Florene Murray.
Surviving are her daughter, Becky Miller of North Irwin; and a grandson, James Miller of Manor.
Friends were received at E. J. Rodgers Funeral Home where a service was held with the Rev. Robbin Clouser officiating. Interment was at Brush Creek Cemetery.

Spoerer
Charles G. Spoerer Jr., 82, of Murrysville died Nov. 14, 2001.
Born Oct. 13, 1919, in Chicago, he was the son of Charles and Nell (Anderson) Spoerer. A graduate of Purdue University and MIT, he was a retired engineer with Westinghouse Research in Churchill. Mr. Spoerer was a retired U.S. Navy commander during World War II and the Korean War.
Surviving are his children, Thomas of Ravenwood, W.Va., Charles III of Maple Valley, Wash., James of Santa Maria, Calif., Margaret Healy of Mesa, Ariz., William of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Kurt Noland Spoerer of New York City; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Private arrangements were handled by John T. Hart Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army.

Alfred "Al" G. Brinza
Turtle Creek
Alfred G. "Al" Brinza, 73, of Turtle Creek, on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001. Son of the late Michael and Rose (Turzak) Brinza. Beloved husband of 47 years of Lucy (Levantino) Brinza. Dear father of Renae and Nadine Brinza. Brother of Richard Brinza, Marian McWilliams, Audrey Wlahofsky, Jean Peters, Joseph Brinza and the late Roseann Dawson. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the ALFIERI FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 Marguerite Ave., Wilmerding, where service will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Colman Church at 10 a.m. Al was retired from Bettis Atomic in West Mifflin. He was a man of great courage. He was dedicated to God, family and country, and he was loved by everyone.

Kathryn "Hun" A. Butler
Formerly of Larimer
Kathryn A. "Hun" Butler, 93, formerly of Larimer, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. She was born July 15, 1908, in Larimer, a daughter of the late John and Margaret McHugh Butler. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Columbia Hospital as an office clerk in the billing department. She was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Butler; and three brothers, Daniel, John and Frank Butler. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Butler of Wilmerding; a niece, Janet Gilbert of Elizabeth Township; five nephews, Dennis and Frank Butler of Wilmerding, William Butler of North Huntingdon, Lawrence and Daniel Butler of North Versailles; and several cousins, including Kathryn and Ed Clark of Sewickley. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 504 Oak St., Irwin, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 1O a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Huntingdon.

Esther Wallace Currie
Esther Wallace Currie, 93, of Ligonier, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, in the Bethlen Home, Ligonier. She was born Feb. 2, 1908, in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of the late David Balderson MacGregor and Esther Jessie Ferguson Anderson. Mrs. Currie received most of her education at the Sir John Neilson Culbertson School in Glasgow. She loved music and had a beautiful voice. In 1921, at age 13, she won the singing competition for the City of Glasgow, the youngest person to do so until that time. She also sang with the Sir Hugh S. Robertson Junior Choir, a well-known youth choir of the early 1900's. Mrs. Currie's family immigrated to the United States in 1926. She was a lifelong Presbyterian and very proud of her family's Presbyterian heritage. Her mother's family were Covenanters from Thornhill, Dumfries, and her father's family from Thurso, Caithness, belonged to the Church of Scotland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Adam Currie, in 1993; two brothers, James and David Anderson; and two sisters, Jane Waidelich and Mary Hart. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William (Esther) Gardner of Ligonier; two grandsons, William M. (Deborah) Gardner Jr. and Adam C. (Michelle) Gardner, both of Ligonier; three great-grandchildren, Billy, Ben and Addie May Gardner; two nephews, Ian Hart of Hong Kong and David Hart of Glasgow, Scotland; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Colchie of Woodlawn, Va. A private graveside service will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Allegheny County Memorial Park in Allison Park with the Rev. John Hollingsworth officiating. Arrangements by the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL CHAPEL INC., Ligonier.
