Michael N. Ivanovich, 83, on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, in Jefferson Center Hospital, Jefferson Hills. He was born Jan. 8, 1918, in Large, Pa., son of the late Misha and Milka Marusich Ivanovich. Mr. Ivanovich was a retired steelworker for U.S. Steel, Clairton Works, and a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton. Husband of the late Florence (Panepinto) Ivanovich. Brother of Rose Piroli of Clairton. Also survived by nieces and nephews; and his caregiver, Florence Pryzbylski of Clairton. Visitation Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the A.J. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 555 Fifth St., Clairton. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Clairton. Burial in St. Clare Cemetery, Clairton.

Lisa Ann Lockwood Harris Kalp, 35, of Ruffsdale, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, in St. Francis Health Center, Pittsburgh. Born June 21, 1966, in Chicopee Falls, Mass., she was the daughter of Clifford Lockwood of Greensburg and Patricia Beck Roberts of McKeesport. Mrs. Kalp graduated from Norwin High School in 1984 and the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy in 1986. Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, Farley Kalp of Ruffsdale; two daughters, Randi Patricia and Jacki Gaylynne Harris; and a son, Ryan Scott Clifford Kalp, all at home; a brother, Mark Thomas Lockwood and wife Brandy of Wendel; and two nieces, Kylie and Kelsey Lockwood. She is also survived by her stepmother, Marcie Lockwood of Greensburg; her stepfather, William Roberts of McKeesport; her mother-in-law, Frances Kalp, and Leonard Stahl of Acme RD; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Friends received in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Brian Swan officiating. Elizabeth Estelle Lakasky, 86, a lifelong resident of Elizabeth, N.J., died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, in the Cranford Health and Extended Care Center, Cranford. Mrs. Lakasky was a communicant of St. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Elizabeth, and of the parish Senior Citizens Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Lakasky. She is survived by a daughter, Arlene Bender of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Jacqueline, Michelle and Jim Bender; a sister, Alice Sikorsky of Green Valley, Ariz.; and a sister-in-law, Alice Lakasky of Elizabeth, N.J. Robert Ray Rosenberg, 93, on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Weyand Rosenberg, and a son, Robert Rosenberg. He is survived by his children, William L. Rosenberg, Dorothyann Smith, Launa Hines, Merriann McCracken and James A. Rosenberg; grandchildren, Scott and Tammy Smith, Nicholas and Julieann Guiste, Erin Ashley, Austin James and Dylan Keith Rosenberg, and Jessica and Lindsay McCracken; and a great-grandson, Hadyn Guiste. Mr. Rosenberg was retired from the Child Welfare Services of Allegheny County. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy. Services and interment

Robert H. Stewart, 74, of Herminie, on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, in the UPMC Rehabilitation Center in Squirrel Hill. He was born June 10, 1927, in McKeesport, the son of the late Wentworth H. and Grace A. Cheshire Stewart. He was a retired machinist and co-owner of the Wendel Machine Company in Irwin. A graduate of McKeesport High School, Mr. Stewart had served an apprenticeship with Westinghouse Air Brake. He was a lifelong member of the Park Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Keystone Clippers Model Airplane Flying Club. He is survived by his wife, Gladys M. Thompson Stewart; a son, Craig H. and his wife Donna Stewart of North Huntingdon; a daughter, Debra Taimuty and her husband Daryl of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Stacey and Rachel Taimuty, Zachary and Neil Stewart; a great-granddaughter, Hannah Taimuty; two sisters, Marlene Stewart of Polk and Olive Andrews of Chicago; and nieces and nephews. James A. "Yummy" Butalla, 60, of Loyalhanna, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at IHS at Mountain View, Unity Township. He was born Nov. 7, 1938, in Latrobe, a son of Stephen J. and Mary Ann Baran Butalla of Loyalhanna. He was a member of St. Rose Church, Latrobe, and was retired from the church. He was a member of the White House Club, Loyalhanna, and F.O.E. #01188, Latrobe. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Stephen J. Butalla and his wife, Paulette, of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Patricia Holden and her husband, Scott, of Latrobe; also survived by a niece, Heather; a nephew, Chad; and a great-niece, Mallory. Curtis M. Cackowski, 39, of Youngwood, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. He was born in Greensburg, Nov. 25, 1959, a son of Evelyn Brosnick Cackowski of Greensburg and the late Marion Cackowski. He was a certified public accountant and was Catholic by faith. He was a former teacher of the C.C.D. class at St. Bruno's Church in South Greensburg, and a member of the P.I.C.P.A., the Norwin Jaycees, and the Hillview City Bowling League. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his cousin, Dana Noel. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Karen Nye Cackowski; and a brother, David Cackowski of Greensburg. Family and friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Irene Slater Iager, 80, of Columbia, Md., died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, of a massive stroke. She was born Nov. 17, 1918, a daughter of the late William Garland and Eva Elizabeth Long Slater. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, the Rev. Floyd Burns and Mr. Albert Iager; sisters, Ethel Vorlage and Irma Jensen; and a brother, Zelmen Slater. Irene graduated from Youngwood High School in 1936 and from Seton Hill College in 1940. She was an organist for St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Youngwood, and taught at Youngwood High School. She is survived by a son, the Rev. Jason Burns of Columbia, Md.; and a daughter, Nancy Burns of California. Arrangements by C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood.
Paul J. Kardos, 69, of Apollo, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at his home. He was born May 22, 1930, in East Vandergrift, a son of the late Nicholas J. and Anna Kromka Kardos. He had lived in Apollo and the Apollo area all of his life. He was an employee of Gulf Research in Harmarville for 28 years, where he worked as a pilot plant operator, retiring in 1985. Mr. Kardos, along with his wife, operated the Carriage House Gift & Antique Shop in Apollo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean war. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Juanita Rodocker Kardos; two sons, Dr. William P. Kardos of Spring Church, Pa., and Robert A. Kardos of Apollo; three brothers, Joseph Kardos of West Leechburg, Nicholas and Patrick Kardos, both of Washington Township; three sisters, Elizabeth Plazio of Apollo, Loretta Kardos of Washington Township, and Antoinette Remaley of North Huntingdon; and granddaughters, Lauren and Elyse (daughters of Dr. William and Regina Kardos).
