Lived in town for 30 years
Christine M. (Hurley) DiOrio, 49, of Townsend Street, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the wife of Douglas D. DiOrio.
Born in Riverside, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Hutcheon) Hurley, she had lived in Barrington for 30 years. A homemaker, Mrs. DiOrio was a communicant of Holy Angels Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves four sons, Anthony, Matthew, Michael and Andrew DiOrio, all of Barrington; a sister, Barbara Laurino of Riverside; and three brothers, Joseph Hurley of Barrington, William Hurley of Massachusetts and Patrick Hurley of Riverside.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 12 from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home in Riverside, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church. Burial followed in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence.
Dorothy E. Kozak
Homemaker, formerly of Warren
Dorothy E. Kozak, 91, of East Providence, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at Eastgate Nursing Home , East Providence. She was the wife of the late Stephen J. Kozak.
Born in Swansea, where she lived most of her life, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Sadie (Peters) Lyne. She lived in East Providence for the past six years, having previously lived in Warren and Swansea.
Mrs. Kozak was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Congregational Church in Swansea.
She leaves two sons, Edward Couitt of Providence and William Couitt of East Providence; a daughter, Marjorie Tinder of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Hazel Benoit and Mary Fazzina of Swansea; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Margaret Couitt.
Her funeral was on Saturday, Nov. 9, from the William J. Smith & Son Funeral Home, Warren, followed by a service at First Christian Congregational Church. She was buried in St. Thomas Cemetery in Swansea.
Francis John Connors
Former member of French Club, leaves sister in town
Francis John Connors, 79, of Punta Gorda, Fla., died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, in Port Charlotte, Fla. He was the husband of the late Helen E. (Ritter) Connors.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late John L. and Emma (Bayer) Connors. A resident of Florida for the last eight years, Mr. Connors previously lived in Bristol for 43 years.
Mr. Connors was a pipe fitter at Cabco Engineering Co. in Pawtucket for 15 years, retiring in 1988. He previously worked at Electric Boat in Groton, Conn., and at Texas Instruments.
Mr. Connors was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Warren and a former member of the Cercle Jacques Cartier Club (French Club) in Warren.
He leaves two sons, John L. Connors of Greenwood, Ind., and Francis James Connors of Conway, N.H.; three daughters, Anna M. Borges of Warren, Barbara E. Evers of Bristol, and Deborah A. Perry of Punta Gorda, Fla.; three brothers, Lester Connors of Arizona, Thomas Connors of Pennsylvania, and Robert Connors of Seekonk; three sisters, Pat Renton of Nova Scotia, Patricia Vanderhoek of Swansea, and Carol Young of Rehoboth, Mass.; 13 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
His funeral is today, Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 9 a.m., from Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Church Street, Warren. He was buried in North Burial Ground in Warren.

Shipbuilder, operated Positive Directions
Scott J. Rego, 40, of Pleasant Street, Fall River, formerly of Tiverton, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at Hollywood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Randolph, Mass. He was the husband of Robynn Ministeri of Tiverton.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of Margaret (Joyce) Rego-Boudreau and Antone Rego, both of Fall River.
Mr. Rego was a shipbuilder for Gladding Hearn Shipbuilding. He had previously operated the former Positive Directions.
He was a Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiast.
Besides his wife and parents, he leaves a son, Scott J. Rego Jr., and a daughter, Haley Rego, both of Fall River; a stepdaughter, Brooke Gauthier, and a stepson, Alan Crecida, both of Tiverton; two sisters, Dawn Rego and Lisa Rego, both of Fall River; three brothers, Robert Rego and Antone Rego, both of Reno, Nev., and Danny Rego of Fall River; his companion, Kathy St. Pierre of Somerset; and several nieces and nephews. He was the borther of the late Thomas and Cynthia Rego.
His funeral was held Friday, Nov. 8, in Auclair Funeral Home, Fall River.
Sondra Ashworth
Former resident of Portsmouth
Sondra "Sandy" (Nascimento) Ashworth, 63, of 40 Crane St., Swansea, died on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at St. Anne's Hospital, Fall River. She was the former wife of Kenneth Silvia of Tiverton.
Born in Fall River on July 8, 1939, she was the daughter of Vera (Brodska) Nascimento of Portsmouth and the late Alfred Nascimento. She had lived in Portsmouth, Fall River and Swansea. She was a graduate of Rogers High School in Newport and Bristol Community College in Fall River. She enjoyed bingo and was a former member of the Battleship Cove CB Club in Fall River.
Besides her mother and former husband, she leaves two sons, Michael Silvia of Swansea and Christopher Silvia of Fall River; two daughters, Elizabeth Gifford and Mary-Jo Lupachini, both of Fall River; a brother, Richard Nascimento of Newport; a companion, Joseph Coelho of Swansea; four grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Her funeral was held on Sunday, Nov. 10, in the Auclair Funeral Home, Fall River.
David L. Camara
Sold potatoes out of his truck on Franklin Street
David L. "Potato Man" Camara, 73, of 58 Franca Drive, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, at his home. He was the husband of Margaret (Tallman) Camara for 52 happy years.
A lifelong Bristol resident, he was the son of the late Manuel and Mary (Raposa) Camara.
Mr. Camara was a wire worker for 28 years at Kaiser Aluminum in Bristol and Portsmouth. As a hobby he sold potatoes from his truck on Franklin and High streets for many years.
He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Church and a member of the Holy Name Society.
Besides his wife, Mr. Camara leaves three sons, David R., John Paul and Thomas A. Camara, all of Bristol; a daughter, Arline Smith of Roque Bluffs, Maine; a sister, Theresa P. Almeida of Bristol; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, Eric, Thomas, Marlayna, Diana and Brian Camara, and Lisa and Matthew Smith; and three great-grandchildren.
He was also the brother of the late Lillian Camara and Manuel Camara.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 25, from the Sansone Funeral Home with a concelebrated Mass of Christian burial at St. Elizabeth Church.
The Rev. Thomas J. Ferland was the celebrant and homilist for the Mass. The Rev. Barry J. Gamache was the concelebrant. Pam and Jennifer Camara were the readers. Arline Smith, Marlayna Camara and Diana Camara presented offertory gifts. Amanda, JoAnn and Pam Camara and Lisa Smith presented long-stemmed roses.
Burial followed in St. Mary Cemetery where Father Ferland led the committal prayers.
Sons David R., John Paul and Thomas A. Camara, grandsons Thomas J. and Bryan A. Camara and William F. DelSanto and Larry E. Smith were pallbearers.
Raymond L. Malone Jr.
Worked for dairy farms and for Electric Boat
Raymond L. Malone Jr., 48, of 19 Chapel St., Newport, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at home.
Born in Newport on June 18, 1954, he was a son of Raymond L. Malone of Little Compton and Mary (Dugan) Allan of Middletown.
Mr. Malone worked for the former John Kesson Dairy Farm, West Main Road, Middletown, and the Louis Escobar Dairy Farm, Middle Road, Portsmouth. He had also worked as a welder for Electer Boat at the Quonset Point Facility. He was a graduate and member of the last class at De La Salle Academy, Newport, in 1972.
Besides his parents, he leaves a son, Jeramiah "J.J." Malone of Winsor, Fla.; a brother, Thomas Malone of Portsmouth; a sister, Katherine Jarvis of Portsmouth; two nieces and a nephew.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at 8 a.m. from Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Joseph's Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown.
Evelyn C. Riley
Portsmouth resident, avid seamstress and cooker
Evelyn C. (Ferreira) Riley, 66, of 62 Sylvania Road, Portsmouth, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the former wife of James Chase Riley.
Born in Middletown on Sept. 12, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Marion and Maria (Souza) Ferreira. She worked as a housekeeper at Salve Regina College and St. George's School.
Mrs. Riley was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and baking for her children, grandchildren and friends.
She leaves two sons, James R. Riley of Middletown and Sean P. Riley of Newport; three daughters, Sheila Lavault of Newport, Colleen Medeiros of New Bedford, Mass., and Sharon Riley of Portsmouth; three sisters, Hilda Sullivan and Mary E. "Betty" Rodrigues Silvia, both of Middletown, and Margaret Nunes of Middleburg, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Mariano, Joseph and Russel Ferreira.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 30 at 9 a.m. from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.

Edward J. Zbyszewski
Leaves sister in Barrington
Edward J. Zbyszewski, 85, of Warren, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Dolores (Laurenzo) Zbyszewski; they had been married for 49 years.
Born in Warren, a son of the late Marion and Antonina (Cichon) Zbyszewski, he was a lifelong resident of the town.
Mr. Zbyszewski, along with his brother Bernard, owned the former Murphy Texaco Station in Warren. He had also worked as a tool crib operator in quality assurance for Kaiser Aluminum in Bristol for more than 35 years, retiring in 1979.
He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater.
He was an usher at St. Alexander Church in Warren and was a member of the Honor Roll of the Mechanics Fire Station there.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sisters, Madeline Kurowski of Barrington and Stacey Riccio of Bristol; three sons, Kenneth A. Zbyszewski of Rockland, Mass., Stephen J. Zbyszewski of Bristol and Michael E. Zbyszewski of Warren; a daughter, Marymartha More of Warren; a brother, Bernard "Murphy" Zbyszewski of Warren; and two grandchildren. He was a brother of the late James and Martha Zbyszewski.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 21, from the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home in Warren, with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Alexander Church. Burial, with military honors, followed in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Warren.
Anne Mary Sevigny
Homemaker, formerly of Warren
Anne Mary Sevigny, 91, formerly of Coomer Avenue, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Joseph "Del" Sevigny.
Born in Oakdale, Pa., she was a daughter of the late James and Mary (McElwee) McHugh. She had lived in Warren and Bristol, moving to North Attleboro 20 years ago.
A homemaker, Mrs. Sevigny was a graduate of the former Colt Memorial High School in Bristol, and Bryant College.
Mrs. Sevigny was a communicant of St. Mary of the Bay Church in Warren and a member of its Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of the church's Women's Guild Society Bowling League and had taught CCD classes.
She leaves three sons, Stephen Sevigny of Attleboro, Richard Sevigny of British Columbia and Peter Sevigny of Warren; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Cornelius and Bernard McHugh, and Marjorie McKnight.
Her funeral was on Saturday, Nov. 23, from the William J. Smith & Son Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Bay Church. She was buried in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Warren.

Wilma Turner
Theater coach, lived in Tiverton for 30 years
Wilma "Billie" Turner, 92, of Main Road, Tiverton, formerly of Brattleboro, Vt., died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at home. She was the wife of the late Matthew A. Turner.
Born on Feb 14, 1910, in Toledo, Ohio, a daughter of the late William H. and Myrtle (Westcott) Fellows, she had lived in Tiverton for 30 years.
Mrs. Turner graduated from the Academy of Speech & Arts in Boston. She was a member of the Theater Guild and coached many actors.
She leaves two daughters-in-law, Nancy Turner of Narragansett, and Jerrilee Turner Silk of Naples, Fla.; and six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Robert W. and Jeffrey W. Turner, and sister of the late Robert H. Fellows.
Her funeral was held Thursday, Dec. 12, in the First Congregational Church, West Brattleboro, Vt. Burial was in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery, Brattleboro.
Rita H. Paul
Mother of nine, grandmother of 14 , had great-grandson
Rita H. (Marchand) Paul, 77, formerly of Sanford Road, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at Kimwell Healthcare. She was the widow of Arthur Paul.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Raoul and Opalma (Benoit) Marchand. She lived in Westport for most of her life.
Mrs. Paul was a member of the Women's Guild of Our Lady of Grace Parish in Westport.
She leaves five sons, Robert Paul of Tiverton, R.I., Arthur Paul Jr. and James Paul, both of Somerset, Michael Paul of Westport and Albert Paul of Fall River; four daughters, Doris Duquette and Denise Paquin, both of Westport, Lorraine Goncalo of Somerset and Rita Duhamel of Fall River; two brothers, Leo Marchand of Marietta, S.C., and Rene Marchand of Keene, N.H.; two sisters, Pauline Muntz of Charlotte, N.C., and Muriel Barselou of Little Compton, R.I.; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Doris Dutton, Janice Warren and Normand Marchand.
Her funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Dec. 17, in Our Lady of Grace Church. Arrangements were by the Auclair Funeral Home. in Fall River.
Rita A. Baker
Retired bookkeeper, formerly of Tiverton
Rita A. (Joyce) Baker, 81, of North Main Street, Fall River, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at the home of her granddaughter, Melinda T. Rafanan of Dighton, Mass., after an illness. She was the wife of the late Harold J. Baker.
Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late James H. and Rose Ann (Hughes) Joyce, she had lived on Crandall Road in Tiverton before moving to Fall River 56 years ago.
Mrs. Baker worked as a bookkeeper for various Fall River area companies, including Fall River Manufacturing and Stafford Clothing, before retiring in 1983.
She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1939, and Herrick's Business School.
Besides her granddaughter, she leaves a daughter, Mary A. Vieira of Fall River; a grandson, Rodney J. Vieira of Gaithersburg, Md.; a great-granddaughter, Emily Paige Rafanan; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral was held Tuesday, Dec. 17, from the Boule Funeral Home, Fall River, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Cathedral. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Beatrice O. Warry

Beatrice O. (D'Arcy) Warry, 96, of 8 Juniper Court, formerly of Niagara Falls, N.Y., died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at Metacom Manor Health Center. She was the wife of the late Sidney A. Warry.
Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late George and Harriet I. (Brooks) D'Arcy. A resident of Bristol for the last two years, she lived in Niagara Falls, N.Y., for most of her life.
She was a secretary for 20 years for Hugh Ewart, Certified Public Accountant of Niagara Falls, N.Y., before retiring in the early 1960s.
Mrs. Warry was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church in Niagara Falls, where she was in the choir for many years. Along with her late husband, she did volunteer work at Memorial Hospital in Niagara Falls for many years.
She leaves a daughter, Barbara W. Barr of Bristol; a granddaughter, Melissa S. Ferro of Bristol; a grandson, Adam S. Barr of Mount Washington, Ky.; and three great-grandchildren, Louie Ferro of Bristol, Thomas Barr of Germany and Savannah Barr of Mount Washington, Ky.
She was also the sister of the late Vernon D'Arcy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 2:30 p.m. in St. James United Methodist Church, Niagara Falls, N.Y.
Burial will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park, Lewiston, N.Y.

Homemaker was a Bristol resident for 68 years
Mary (Silva) Cabral, 92, of Silver Creek Manor, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002 at Silver Creek Manor. She was the wife of the late Manuel Cabral.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Jacintho and Antonia (daConceicao) Silva. She lived in Bristol for 68 years after moving from Philadelphia, Pa., where she lived the previous 24 years.
Mrs. Cabral was a homemaker.
She leaves a son, John Schrank of Florida; two stepsons, Manuel and George Cabral; a sister, Lillian Paiva; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
She was also the mother of the late Bertha Paiva, and the sister of the late Rose, Louise and Alice Paiva.
Her funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 14, from the George C. Lima Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian burial at St. Elizabeth's Church. The Rev. Thomas J. Ferland was the celebrant of the Mass.
Her burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, where the Rev. Ferland offered the committal prayers.
Constantino A. Vasconcellos
World War II veteran, foreman at Fulflex factory
Constantino (Connie) A. Vasconcellos, 79, of Mount Hope Avenue, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at the Rhode Island Veterans' Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Isabel (Pacheco) Vasconcellos.
Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary Isabel (Cabral) Vasconcellos. He lived in Bristol for 56 years since moving from Somerset where he lived for the previous 23 years.
Mr. Vasconcellos was a foreman at Carr Fulflex for 38 years before retiring in 1984.
He served in the Air Force during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Eileen Emery of Tewksbury, Mass., and Paula Wolfang of Warren; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was the brother of the late John and Antone Vasconcellos.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from the George C. Lima Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian burial at St. Elizabeth Church. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery.

John B. Custodio Jr.
Former weaver, World War II vet
John B. Custodio Jr., 84, of 126 Hilton St., Tiverton, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Silver Creek Manor Nursing Home in Bristol.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late John B. Custodio Sr. and Liduina (Texeira) Custodio. He was a resident of Tiverton for most of his life.
Mr. Custodio was a weaver at the former Bourne Mill before entering the military. An Army veteran of World War II, he participated in the Battle of New Georgia in June 1943. He was wounded and received the Purple Heart.
Mr. Custodio was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 486, Fall River. He was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church, Tiverton.
He leaves two sisters, Gilda Correia and Evelyn Morris, both of Tiverton; a brother, Antone Custodio of Fall River; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was the brother of the late Edward Custodio.
His funeral was held Monday, Dec. 23 from Oliveira Funeral Home in Fall River, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Ghost Church. Burial was in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
Wilson Silva Rego
Funeral services in Thanksgiving for the life of Wilson Silva Rego were held on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, in the Riverside Cemetery in Fairhaven, Mass. The Reverend Canon John Van Siclen officiated at the services. Readers for the services were Mr. Rego's grandchildren Erin E. Rego and William M. Moger.
Burial with military honors followed, where Mr. Rego's grandson William M. Rego played Taps.
The Patriot Honor Guard from Hanscom Air Force Base presented the flag to Mr. Rego's daughter, Nancy G. R. Moger, on behalf of the family.
Mr. Rego, 86, the husband of the late Grace (McLeod) Rego, formerly of Tiverton, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002 at the home of his daughter Nancy.

Former Tiverton resident
Mary Goulart, 97, of 333 Green End Ave., Middletown, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at the Grand Islander Health Care Center in Middletown after a short illness. She was the wife of the late John S. Goulart.
Born in Fairhaven, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Angelica (Andrade) Mateos. She formerly lived at 57 Hobson Ave., Tiverton, and on East Shore Road in Jamestown.
A homemaker, Mrs. Goulart also worked as a housekeeper for various families and in the textile industry in Providence. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Fish Road in Tiverton.
She leaves two daughters, Marie Lowery of Chauncey, Ga., and Delphina Walsh of Eters, Penn.; a son, John Goulart of Tiverton; a sister, Anna Matoes of Faial, Azores; eight grandchildren, Susan Braddy of Lagrange, Ga., Kathy MacFarland of Eastman, Ga.; Carol Caviness of Liberty, N.C.; Connie Westbrook of Siler City, N.C.; Linda Morin of Skowhegan, Maine; David Welsh of Etters, Penn.; Jarrod Goulart of Tiverton and Christian Haler of Portsmouth.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 28 at 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 615 Fish Road, Tiverton. Arrangements are by the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home in Tiverton.
Virginia B. Humphrey
Former resident was an avid sailor
Virginia B. Humphrey, 92, of East Providence, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at the Hattie Ide Chaffee Nursing Home in East Providence. She was the wife of the late Wallace "Bud" Humphrey.
Born in Portland, Maine, a daughter of the late Claude and Elizabeth (Baker) Berry, she was a former Barrington and Bristol resident, moving to East Providence five years ago. She was a winter resident of North Palm Beach, Fla.
A graduate of the University of Maine, she was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Barrington, an avid sailor and bridge player. She was a former member of the East Greenwich and Barrington yacht clubs, Rhode Island Country Club, Agawam Hunt and the Rhode Island Bridge Club.
She leaves a daughter, Claudia H. Scott of Barrington; a son-in-law, Parker Scott of Barrington; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. today, Monday, Dec. 23, in St. John's Episcopal Church, 191 County Road, Barrington. Burial will follow in the Forest Chapel Cemetery in Barrington.

Leaves family in Barrington
Victoria R. Osterholm, 82, of Warren, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at South County Nursing Home in South Kingston. She was the former wife of the late Albert E. Osterholm.
Born in Pottsville, Pa., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Micholski, she lived in Warren for 20 years and also lived in Cranston, Foster and Johnston.
Mrs. Osterholm worked as a nurse's aide for the general hospital at the Rhode Island Institutes of Mental Health in Cranston for 20 years, retiring in 1982.
While in Foster, she lived on a farm, a life she thoroughly enjoyed.
She leaves two daughters, Ellen V. Holder of Barrington and Narragansett and Laura K. Bedard of Cape Coral, Fla.; a son, Mathias L. "Buzzy" Osterholm of Foxboro, Mass.; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Albert E. Osterholm Jr.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 20, from the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home in Warren, with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary of the Bay Church, Warren. Burial followed in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery.
Edward J. Boulanger Sr.
Former state employee, was active in youth athletics
Edward Joseph Boulanger Sr., 65, of Water Street, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Lea (Bennett) Boulanger. They were married for 38 years.
Born in Warren, he was a son of the late Antone and Bertha (Mikulski) Boulanger. He was a lifelong Warren resident.
Mr. Boulanger had been employed by the state as a janitor at the Rhode Island National Guard Armory.
He had been a member of the Bristol County Bowling League for 30 years, and had coached Warren Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball for 15 years. Mr. Boulanger was a familiar figure at local youth sporting events and was well-known and loved by youngsters in town.
He was a communicant of St. Jean Baptiste Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Paul Boulanger of Woodridge, N.J.; three brothers, Richard Boulanger of Aransas Pass, Texas, Antone Boulanger of Pawtucket and Roland "Ace" Boulanger of Bristol; and four sisters, Esther Thivierge of Jewett City, Conn., and Florence DaCosta, Bertha Pare, Corinne Guimond and Terry Braun, all of Warren. He was the father of the late Edward J. Boulanger Jr.
A graveside service for Mr. Boulanger was on Friday, Dec. 20, in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery in Warren.
