In Pawtucket, 22d instant, Mr. Christopher Duckworth, of Providence, to Miss Susan E., daughter of Mr. A. H. Adams, of Pawtucket.

In Milford, by Rev. A. D. Sargeant, Mr. David Hilton to Miss Delia Harper, both of Holliston, Mass.

In Smithfield, May 24, by Rev. T. Taylor, Mr. Wm. Bates to Miss Olive W. Freeman, both of S.

DEATHS.

At his residence in Smithfield, 30th ult., Otis Bartlett, son of the late Elisha Bartlett, Esq., in the 78th year of his age. The friends and relatives of the family are respectfully invited to attend his funeral at the Friend's Meeting House in Smithfield, on Saturday, June 2d, at 2 o'clock P.M.

In Slatersville, on Friday, 25th inst., in the thirty-fourth year of her age, Harriet Morris, wife of William S. Slater, Esq., and daughter of Hon. John Whipple, of Providence.

In Smithfield, 21st instant, Miss Amaret Smith, daughter of Moses Smith, aged 19 years. May 17, Avery Gilmore, aged 68 years.

In Blackstone, May 25th, Edwin M. S. Southwick, aged 3 years, and adopted son of Josiah M. Southwick.

In Valley Falls, 25th instant, Miss Ann Elizabeth Fuller, only daughter of Cornelius Fuller, deceased, in the 21st year of her age.

In Providence, 22d instant, Robert Dana, infant son of S. S. Tappan.

In Scituate, 17th instant, widow Alsey Harris, in her 67th year.

In Pawtucket, 16th instant, Mr. Daniel McKinley, aged 24 years.

In Bristol, 22d instant, Mrs. Elizabeth Dimond, widow of Royal Dimond, and mother of ex-Governor Francis M. Dimond, in the 97th year of her age. She was the oldest person in Bristol, and the last one in that town who received a pension from Government.

In this village, Thursday, 24th inst., Mr. Loel F. Cole, aged 36 years. Mr. C. has been a hard working, industrious and upright man. He suffered much and long, through his closing sickness, patiently waited the coming of death, and passed from his earthly home, in the "perfect assurance" (to use his own words) of a better home for himself and all mankind. Heaven bless the mourners with abundant consolation.

In Pawtucket, 19th inst., Mrs. Laura Thurston, wife of Benj. R. Thurston, and daughter of John D. Henley, aged 45 years.

In Spragueville, 13th inst., Jarvis Smith, aged 65 years.

In Milford, Nov. 12, Cora L., daughter of Wm. H. Brown, aged 6 years.

In West Medway, 13th inst., of consumption, Adelaide M., wife of Mr. Mowry S. Smith, aged 23 years.

In Holliston, Oct. 12, Miss Caroline Mann, aged 66 years. Oct. 14th, Mrs. Daniel Whiting, aged 77 years.

In Thompson, Conn., 7th inst., Marcus T. Munyan, aged 21 years.

In Canterbury, Conn., 22d inst., John A. Littlefield, formerly of Providence.

In New York, 20th inst., Arthur William, youngest child of Henry J. Raymond, editor of the Times, aged 3 years and 10 mos.

In Newbern, N.C., 12th ult., of yellow fever, Mr. Chester P. Barrows, aged 21 years, adopted son of Mr. E. W. Barrows, of Pawtucket.

Edwin Wilbur died at Newport, Thursday. He was formerly general treasurer of the State and collector of customs at Newport, and lately president of the Trader's bank at Newport.

Death by drowning. - A man named Patrick Burke, belonging in Warren, who with three others was in a skiff on Cole's river, Monday noon, was drowned by the upsetting of the boat, caused by the strength of the current. The others saved themselves by clinging to the boat. Burke's body was recovered a short time after the accident. - Providence Journal.

Man Killed - A young man named Jesse Chase, son of Mr. Ellery Chase, of Pawtucket, was fatally shot in the bowels on Fraday, by a gun in his own hands, while hunting on the banks of the Seckonk River, opposite Swan Point. He was noticed by some men on board a schooner to throw up his hands, and fall partly in the water. The schooner hauled to the shore and took the young man aboard and carried him to Pawtucket. Dr. Morton was called upon, but he lived but a few moments. - Prov. Post.

May 19, 1865:

PERSONALS:

James S. Gardner, a lively youth of 76 winters, and Phebe A. Rose, a fine old lady of 13 summers, were married at Northh Kingstown on Thursday. A rather aged gardner to pluck so young a rose.

First Cavalry. — Returns from the First Cavalry for April, in camp near Winchester, Va., have been received by Adjutant General Mauran. There were present 8 officers and 214 men; absent 4 officers and 107 men. Three officers and fifty-seven men are on detached service, one officer and twenty-five men are prisoners of war.

Mr. Jonathan T. Almy, of Newport, an aged man and quite deaf, while walking on the track, on Wednesday, about a mile from the city, was struck by the locomotive. His arm and leg were broken and skull fractured, so that there can be no hopes of recovery.

Pardon M. Stone was elected twelfth representative from Providence to the General Assembly, on Wednesday, in place of Benjamin N. Arnold, who declined to serve.

The grapery, moss house, and house for bedding house-plants, belonging to Mr. Robert Johnston, the gardener and florist, Providence, were destoyed by fire on the 10th.

One Rhode Island Soldier Killed and Another Wounded. — We learn from the Charleston Courier that on the 2d inst., while a detachment of the 3d R. I. Artillery were firing a salute at Fort Johnson in commemoration of President Lincoln, Thomas Riley was killed by a premature explosion, and E. Smith had his right arm blown off. They both belong to Co. D.

Fatal Accident on the Bristol Railroad. — When the train which left here at 1 1/2 o'clock yesterday for Bristol, was between Warren and Bristol, it ran against an ox-cart which Mark Smith was driving across the track. Mr. Smith was killed. One of the oxen was killed and the other had one of his legs broken. A boy, who was in the cart, jumped out and was not injured. The track was visible for half a mile each way. Mr. Smith was accustomed to caution his men about approaching the track, but from some cause did not take the proper precaution. — Providence Journal.

Military Promotions. — The following promotions have been made in the First Rhode Island Artillery:

First Lieutenant Walter M. Knight, of Battery H, to be Captain of the same, vice Allen promoted for gallant conduct in front of Petersburg, Va.

Second Lieutenant Anthony B. Horton, Battery H, to be First Lieutenant, vice Knight, promoted for gallant conduct in front of Petersburg, Va.

Second Lieutenant Frank A. Waterman, Battery G, to be First Lieutenant of Battery F, to fill vacancy.

Sergeant M. S. Blair, of Battery E, to be Second Lieutenant in Battery F, to fill vacancy, for meritorious mention as best soldier in brigade.

Second Lieutenant William B. Westcott, Battery to be First Lieut. of Battery B, vice Perrin, resigned.

First Sergeant William J. Kenyon, Battery B, to be Second Lieutenant in same, vice Spencer, promoted.
