JOHN F. DOWLING, JR., 78, of Woodsia Road, Narragansett, died Friday, September 28, 2007 at South County Hospital in Wakefield. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth J. (Gorman) Dowling.
Born in Waterbury, CT, a son of the late John F. and Virginia (Bessette) Dowling, he moved to Narragansett in 1986. Mr. Dowling worked in industrial sales at Pratt-Whitney Aircraft in Ct for many years before retiring, and later worked at Paul Bailey’s Ford in Wakefield.
He was a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army Artillery Unit during the Korean War.
He was the devoted father of Beth M. Boundy of Plainville, CT, Peter J. Dowling of Narragansett and Sara J. Rackliffe of Bristol, CT; and loving grandfather of Kayla and Anthony Paladino and Lester Chalmers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday at 11a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME-SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd., (Rt.1A)Narragansett, followed by interment with Military Honors at RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
VISITING HOURS MONDAY MORNING 10-11 a.m.

MANUEL N. PEDRO

MANUEL N. PEDRO, 69, of Greenwood St., Cranston died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Rosa) Pedro and the late Zelia (Duarte) Pedro.
Born in Prados, Portugal, a son of the late Francisco and Antonia (Nunes) Pedro, he came to the U.S. in 1967, settling in Cranston.
Mr. Pedro was a supervisor and worked at Elmwood Sensors in Pawtucket for 36 years, retiring in 2003.
Besides his wife, he was the dear brother of Rosa Maria Rei and her husband Antonio Lucena Rei of Warwick, and the late John N. Pedro.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew’s Church, Elmwood Ave., Cranston at 10 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

ROBERT J. "BOB" CASCONE

Robert J. "Bob" Cascone, 68, of Johnston, RI, died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at RI Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband for 40 years of Susan M (Restaino) Cascone. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Maria (Perciato) Cascone. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea as a Communications Engineer and upon his return to Brooklyn he worked as a maintenance engineer for the New York Telephone Company and the New York Transit Authority. With his wife and daughter, Bob moved to RI from Brooklyn 29 years ago. He retired in 2005 from Holy Cross Church in Providence as a maintenance engineer. Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years. Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Jennifer M. Cascone of Bethesda, MD and the late Joseph Robert Cascone, and dear brother of Helen Pannullo of North Palm Beach, FL and the late Arthur Cascone. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Rd., Johnston, and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Burial will be private. of Cranston, formerly of Providence, was surrounded by her family as she peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on Sunday September 30, 2007. She was the loving, devoted wife of the late Aurelio J. Alves. Born in Wareham, MA she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Lima) Faria. Mrs. Alves had been employed by the Catholic Diocese of Providence for many years until retiring. She is survived by two sons Anthony and Robert, one daughter Vivian and the late Jacqueline; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was the sister of the late John, Joseph, Henry, Lena, Louise and Charlotte Faria. Burial will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery Exeter, RI. Her funeral services will be private. Kindly omit flowers. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Vincent and Angelina (Castronovo) DePaola. He was a WW II Navy Veteran. Mr. DePaola was a United States Postal Worker for 35 years until his retirement. He is survived by his sister Antonetta V. Fransosi of Cranston and the late Michael DePaola. 86 , of Ashley St., Cranston died on Sunday September 30, 2007 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Tina ( Croce ) Robertus for 56 years. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska a son of the late Henry and Amelia ( Kahm ) Robertus and he had resided most of his life in Cranston. Mr. Robertus along with his wife were co-founders and owners of the former Allied Sheet Metal Co. of Cranston for more than 27 years and had also co-founded the former N. E. Creamery Co. of Cranston. He had also been employed as lead projectionist at the former Pike Drive-In, Johnston. Mr. Robertus was a WW II Army Veteran serving in the European Theatre of Operations receiving numerous Metals of Distinction. He was a member of the Cranston Senior Center, VFW Post # 2396 and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. He is survived by his sons; Richard A. Robertus and his wife Linda L. of Cranston and Ronald L. Robertus and his wife Joanne M. of No. Providence. He was the grandfather of Lisa L. Poole of Warwick and Shannon K. Robertus of Arlington, MA. He was the brother of Rose Keller of Colorado and the late Henry and Marie Robertus. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. His funeral, with military honors, will be held on Thursday at 9:am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston St., Cranston at 10:am. CARMELA A. (RICCI) SANTILLI, 94, of Angelico St., Johnston, died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at home. She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Santilli, Sr.
Born in Johnston, she was the daughter of the late Eugenio and Angelina (Martinelli) Ricci.
Mrs. Santilli was a cook at St. Rocco’s School Nursery for 45 years retiring in 1975.
She is survived by her children, Rocco G. Santilli and his wife June of FL, Joseph E. Santilli, Jr. and his wife Diane of Johnston, and Robert N. Santilli and his wife Mary of Scituate. She was the sister of Eugene Ricci of CA, and the late Angelo Ricci. She was the grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of six.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco’s Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston at 10 a.m.
Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

SALVATORE BUONO, 83, of Old Oak Ave., Cranston, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Miriam Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband for 60 years of Zoey L. “Louise” (Parker) Buono.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Aniello and Raffaela (Zaccarina) Buono, he moved to Cranston in 1958. Mr. Buono worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Providence for 30 years, before retiring in 1988. He was a WW-II Navy veteran.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Russel S. Buono and his wife Maggie of Warwick, Joseph M. Buono of Warwick, and Lorna Marie Farrow and her husband Richard of Cranston; loving grandfather of four; loving great-grandfather of two; and dear brother of Ralph Buono of Johnston, Anna Hurley of Warwick, and the late Anthony, Vincent and Frank Buono.

SADIE (FARIA) MARTINO, 87, of Rosemont Ave., Johnston, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. She was the wife of John Martino.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Cabral) Faria. Mrs. Martino worked at the former General Electric for 15 years before retiring.
She was a member of the Johnston Seniors, Forand Senior Citizens of Johnston, and was Past President of Ladies Auxiliary Hose 3 Fire Station in Johnston.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Martha Colagiovanni and her husband Jerry of FL; two sons, Tom Martino of East Greenwich, and John M. Martino of Johnston; and one grandson, Brian Martino. She was the sister of the late Mary Camoes, Philomena Barbosa, Rose Mederios, Hilda Ursillo, and Joseph, Manuel, John, Joaquin, William and Frank Faria. She was the sister-in-law of Domenic and Irene Martino of Fl, and Theresa Faria of East Providence.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME,1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Rd., Johnston at 10 a.m.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.

Barbara A. (Parenti) Boyer, R.N. 67, of Narragansett, passed away Wednesday October 3, 2007 at home after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Clementine (Gazerro) Parenti. Ms. Boyer was a Registered Nurse for many years, working at Woman and Infants Hospital in Providence before retiring in 2000. She attended St. Patrick's School and CCRI. She was an active member of the Ministry at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Church and The Red Hat Society. She is survived by her loving daughters, Pamela Tessier and her husband Charlie of Charlestown , Stefanie Boyer and her husband David Records of Exeter, her devoted sister, Eugenia “Jean” Caracuzzo and her husband Joseph of East Greenwich. She was the cherished grandmother of Emilie, Ian and Jeffrey Records. She was the loving aunt of Jennifer Hardin, Marisa Gallagher. She was the mother of the late Michele and Christopher Boyer. Domenico Bruno 93, of Harmony Drive, Providence, died Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Cherry Hill Manor, Johnston. He was the husband of the late Lena (Giannotti) Bruno. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Michael and Maria (Asciolla) Bruno. Mr. Bruno lived in Italy before returning to Providence in 1927. He was the owner of the former Freeway Auto Body on Valley Street, Providence for twenty years before his retirement. Mr. Bruno was a member of the Young Italian Imperial Club of Providence for over sixty years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing Bocce. Mr. Bruno is survived by his two daughters; Maria M. Garganese of Providence and Dolores A. Gazerro of Cranston. He was the grandfather of four and the great-grandfather of seven. Mr. Bruno was the brother of Armando Bruno, of Las Vegas, NV, Mario Bruno, of Brooklyn, NY and the late Joseph and Frank Bruno. Rose M. (Iannotti) Croce 73, of Zanfagna Street, Johnston, died Friday, October 5, 2007 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. She was the devoted wife of William A. “Billy” Croce; they were married for 38 years. Born in Cranston, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Gilda (DeBiase) Croce. Mrs. Croce was a secretary at St. Rocco’s Church for twenty-three years. She also worked as a supervisor in the furniture department at the former Outlet Department Store, Providence for twenty years and taught catechism classes at St. Rocco’s for ten years. Besides her husband she is survived by her loving son Michael W. Croce and his wife Deborah of Cranston. She was the cherished grandmother of Andrew M. Croce. Mrs. Croce was the sister of the late Florence Pezzullo. William Zinni 87, of Mulberry Circle, Johnston, died Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the husband of Esther M. (Crino) Zinni; they were married for fifty-four years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Antonio and Lucia (DiMartino) Zinni. Mr. Zinni was a lift truck operator for the former New England Malleable Iron Company of Warwick, for thirty years before retiring in 1981. He was a WW II veteran, serving in the US Army’s 85th Infantry Division, as a technical sergeant. His regiment saw combat in the Italian Campaign, from the North Appenines and Po Valley to the Alps, and was cited for outstanding performance of duty in action. Besides his wife he is survived by his children; William Zinni, Jr. of Hardwick, MA, David A. Zinni and his wife Sharon of Southbury, CT, Michael A. Zinni and his wife Heather of Johnston, Angela L. Dorcus and her husband Patrick of Keene, NH. He was the grandfather of nine. Mr. Zinni was the brother of the late Louis, Joseph, Fred and Virginia Zinni, Mary Alviano and Anna Picozzi.
