Marion L. Wilson, 81, of Upland Way, died Sunday, Feb 14, 1999, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late J. Daniel Wilson.
She was born in Barrington and was a daughter of the late Charles B. and Anna (Butler) O'Connor. She lived in Bristol for 18 years.
She leaves two daughters, Louise A. Wilson of New York City and Jane E. Klein of Ocean Grove, NJ, and a granddaughter, Megan Klein. She was the sister of the late Charles B. O'Connor Jr. and Ann Fagan.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am Saturday in Holy Angels Church. Burial will be in Forest Chapel Cemetery.
Elizabeth A. Kelsey
Active in Barrington Services for Animals
Elizabeth A. Kelsey, 71, of 25 Fessenden Road, died Friday, Feb 19, 1999, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of Robert F. Kelsey. Mr. and Mrs. Kelsey were married for 50 years.
Born in Passaic, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Alan E. Lagergren, Sr. and Kathryn (McCann) Lagergren. She had lived in Barrington for 28 years, previously living in Needham, Mass.
Mrs. Kelsey had been active in Barrington Services for Animals for 20 years, and was an active participant at Barrington Town Council meetings.
Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, David W. Kelsey of Norton, Mass, and Douglas A. Kelsey and Thomas F. Kelsey, both of Barrington; a daughter, Jean E. Gates of West Winfield, NY; three brothers, Alan E. Lagergren of Barrington, Richard M. Lagergren of Wilmington, Del., and John D. Lagergren of Hampton, Tenn, and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial service was held yesterday in Barrington Congregational Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Barrington Services for Animals, PO Box 234, Barrington or the Artificial Kidney Foundation of RI, 318 Waterman Ave, East Providence 02914 would be appreciated.
Ethel D. Burke
Leaves a sister in Barrington
Ethel D. (D'Alessio) Burke, 93, of 55 High St, Bristol, died Friday, Feb 19, 1999, at Silver Creek Manor in Bristol. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Burke.
Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Maria A. (Cinque) D'Alessio. She worked for 10 years as a production worker at the Dixon Co. in Bristol, retiring in 1962. Previously, she worked for 35 years as a floor lady at the former Collins & Aikman Co. in Bristol.
A communicant of St. Mary's Church in Bristol, she was a 50-year member of Hope Circle No 70, Daughters of Isabella.
She leaves three sisters, Rose Burke of Bristol, Ann Rash of Barrington and Flora Oliveira of Warren; a grandson, Charles W. Card of Sacramento, Calif, and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Cynthia L. Card, grandmother of the late John D. Card and sister of the late Charles, William, Frank and Edward D'Alessio, Helen Mascola and Hortense D'Alessio.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Sansone Funeral Home in Bristol, with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary's Church. Burial followed in Bristol's North Burial Ground.
Katharine W. Perry
Country club golf champion
Katharine W. Perry of Providence died Friday, Sept 17, 1999, at home. She was the wife of Walter Perry Jr.
Born in Montclair, NJ, a daughter of the late H. St. John Webb and Susan (Conant) Webb, she lived in Providence since 1994, previously living in Newport and Barrington.
Mrs. Perry graduated from Pine Manor Junior College in 1932. She was a member of the Rhode Island and Newport country clubs and was a former Rhode Island Country Club golf champion, a state seniors champion and the Rhode Island Country Club's seniors champion for several years.
She was a founding member of the Barrington Family Association and served on the board of Children's Friend and Service. She was a volunteer with Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island.
She was a former member of St. John's Church, Barrington, and Trinity Church, Newport.
Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Nancy Harris of East Providence and Patricia Merritt of Natick, Mass.; a son, Walter Perry III of Salem, Ore.; a sister, Elizabeth Baldwin of Newton Square, Pa., and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Sept. 21, at St John's Church.
Michael E. Andreozzi
Past commander American Legion Post 8
Michael E. Andreozzi, 77, of 12 Bay Ave died Thursday, Sept 23, 1999, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Edith (Whalon) Andreozzi.
Born in Barrington, he was a son of the late Francisco and Bella (Mastriano) Andreozzi. He was a lifelong resident of Barrington.
Mr. Andreozzi was an Army veteran of World War II and was a painter for Primiano Painting Co. before retiring in 1989.
Mr. Andreozzi was a past commander of American Legion Post 8 and the second district. He was a member of the German Club in Warren and the Barrington Democratic Club. He was a communicant of Holy Angels Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son Michael Andreozzi Jr. of Wakefield; a daughter, Pauline Camara of Swansea; a brother, Rocco Andreozzi of West Warwick; two sisters, Phyllis Bettencourt and Mary Massa, both of Warren, and four grandchildren. He was a brother of the late Domenic, Frank and Raymond Andreozzi.
His funeral with military honors was held Saturday from the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, Warren, with a Mass of Christian burial in Holy Angels Church. Burial was in Forest Chapel Cemetery.
John C. Sarracino
Retired deputy sheriff in Bristol County
John C. Sarracino of 29 Water St., Warren, died on Sunday, Sept 26, 1999, at home. He was 94.
Mr. Sarracino was married to the late Concetta (Vitullo) Sarracino. He was the father of Ramona Turner of Warren, with whom he lived.
Born in Barrington, he was a son of the late Carmine and Pasqualina (Paolino) Sarracino. He lived in Warren for more than 60 years.
Mr. Sarracino was a Bristol County deputy sheriff before he retired in 1970. He worked at the former US Rubber Co. plant in Bristol for many years.
Mr. Sarracino was a member of the Italian-American Club in Warren. He was a communicant of St. Alexander's Church in Warren.
Besides his daughter, he leaves a son, John C. Sarracino of Bristol, and five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was a brother of the late Thomas, Rocco, Rinaldo and Orlando Sarracino, Concetta LaPolla, Mary Buckley and Linda Campagna.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am tomorrow, Sept 30, at 10 am at St. Alexander's Church on north Main Street. Burial will be in Maria del Campo Cemetery in Barrington.
Thomas Johnson
Longest living member of RI Country Club
Thomas Johnson of Stone Tower Lane died on Sunday, Sept 26, 1999, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was 98.
Mr. Johnson was married to the late Jean (Bart) Johnson. Born in Medford, Mass, he was a son of the late Arthur L. and Ann (Farley) Johnson. He lived in Barrington for 27 years after living previously in Providence.
Mr. Johnson was the former president and chairman of Welsh Mfg., now North Safety Products, a division of Textron. He was a former Rhode Island jury commissioner.
Mr. Johnson was the longest living member of the Rhode Island Country Club, where he served on the board of governors. He was a member of the University Club in Providence and was a past president of the Industrial Safety Equipment Association.
Mr. Johnson was an active member of the Providence YMCA and a frequent golfer. He earned an electrical engineering degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology after attending Phillips Andover Academy.
He was chairman of Welsh Mfg. from 1973 to 1976 and president from 1950 to 1973. He began working at Welsh in 1931 after serving as an electroplating specialist for the Gillette Co. in Boston for six years.
He leaves three daughters, Ann J. McNamara of Far Hills, NJ, and Nancy J. Chaffee and Susan Johnson of Warren, and 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was a brother of the late Richard Johnson.
His funeral will be private. Burial will be in Forest Chapel Cemetery.
Carol B. Read
Leaves son in Barrington
Carol B. Read, 79, of Lincoln Avenue died Wednesday, Nov 17, 1999, at home. She was the wife of the late Clinton J. Read.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Edward A. and Corinne V. (Cote) Boorom.
Mrs. Read had lived in Barrington since 1985, previously living in Cranston for many years.
She was a former treasurer of St. John's Episcopal Church in Marcellus, NY, and a Sunday school superintendent and vestry member at St. David's on the Hill Episcopal Church in Cranston. She was a den mother for Cub Scout Pack 6 in Marcellus.
Mrs. Read attended Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing and was a graduate of Hope High School in Providence.
She leaves two sons, Arthur M. Read II of Barrington and Clinton J. Read of Cranston; three sisters, Louise LaColle of Coventry, Patricia Haddock of Cranston and Jean Greene of Ft. Ripley, Minn, and seven grandchildren.
Her funeral was held Monday in St. David's on the Hill Episcopal Church in Cranston. Burial was in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
Charles F. Rayner
Marine Corps captain, attended Barrington schools
Charles F. Rayner of North Face Drive, Newbury, NH, died Wednesday, Nov 17, 1999, at the New London (NH) Hospital. He was 71.
For 44 years, he was the husband of Judith (Cotter) Rayner. He was born in Winthrop, Mass, a son of Francis P and Carolyn (Douglas) Rayner.
Mr. Rayner was a former Barrington resident, attended Barrington schools and the Maine Maritime Academy and graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1952.
He lived in Guilford, Conn, for 30 years before moving to Newbury in 1997.
Mr. Rayner worked for Miles Pharmaceuticals (Bayer) before retiring and was a former member of the Guilford Planning and Zoning Committee.
He served in the US Marine Corps in Korea, retiring as a captain.
Besides his wife and brother, he is survived by a daughter, Martha Rayner of New York City; two sons, William Rayner of Durham, Conn, and Benjamin Rayner of Chicago; a brother, Douglas E. Rayner of this town; three granddaughters, Hope, Millie and Ruby, and nieces and nephews.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at a future date. Burial will be private.

Lorene R. Blair
Member of Barrington Presbyterian Church
Lorene R. Blair of Wildflower Road died Monday, Oct 4, 1999, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was 83 and the wife of the late Edwin A Blair.
Born in Indianapolis, a daughter of the late Walter and Clara (Schulte) Ristow, she lived in Barrington for 36 years.
Mrs. Blair was a member of Barrington Presbyterian Church.
She leaves two daughters, Phyllis B. Darrah of Richmond, Va, and Suzanne B. Noerager of Houston; two brothers, Carl Ristow of Kiklin, Ind, and Homer Ristow of Nobelsville, Ind, and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Saturday at Barrington Presbyterian Church.
