Born in Thailand, lived here for years.
Sudjai "Kimmy" Andre of Metacom Avenue died on Thursday, Nov 11, 1999, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was 50.
Ms Andre was an employee of Country Club Cleaners on Child Street in Warren. Born in Thailand, she lived in Warren and Bristol for many years.
Ms Andre leaves a daughter, Cynthia Schiedler of Warren, and three grandchildren, Sherri and Hillary Andre and Zackery Schiedler, all of Warren.
The funeral and burial will be private. Arrangements are being handled by the Smith-Mason Funeral Home in Riverside.

Thomas J. Bennett
Thomas J. Bennett, 79, formerly of Warwick, a retired textile machinist, died July 27, 2000, at Four Seasons Care Center, Sedalia, Mo. He was the husband of the late M. Caroline (Fagan) Bennett. Born in Bristol, a son of the late Eli and Clarissa (Harley) Bennett, he resided in Warwick most of his life. He was a member of the Apponaug Old Timers Group, and a former communicant of St. Clement Church, Warwick. He was a self-employed textile machinist until his retirement. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He leaves two sons, William T. Bennett of New Bedford and Gary S. Bennett of Sedalia; a daughter, Patricia C. “Penny” Salyer of Higginsville, Mo.; a brother, Joseph Bennett of Warwick; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was the father-in-law of Carol Ann Benentt. He was the father of the late James R. Bennett. The funeral was held from Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., with a committal service in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Burial followed.

Jane C. (Falvey) Alden
Jane C. (Falvey) Alden, 61, of Post Road, a medical transcriptionist, died July 31, 2000, at South County Hospital. Born in East Orange, N.J., a daughter of the late George and Ethel (Jacoby) Falvey, she had lived in Narragansett before moving to Warwick 30 years ago. She was a medical transcriptionist, and previously was a court stenographer, teacher and legal secretary. She was an avid gardener. She leaves a son, Charles T. Schmidt of North Smithfield; two daughters, Cynthia J. (Schmidt) Moran of Amesbury, Mass., and Christine Marie Schmidt of Destin, Fla.; and five grandchildren. The funeral was held in Lawrence E. Fagan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown. Burial was private.

Kathleen A. (Marurono) Gifford
Kathleen A. (Marurono) Gifford, 46, of Rutherford Court, died July 31, 2000, at home. She was the wife of the late Wayne R. Gifford. Born in Providence, a daughter of Gabriel P. Marurono of Warwick and the late Dorothy L. (Imondi) Marurono, she lived in Warwick for 30 years. Mrs. Gifford was a 1999 magna cum laude graduate of Rhode Island College, with a bachelor’s degree in social work. She was inducted last year into the National Honor Society, Alpha Delpha Mu. While in college, she interned at CODAC, Talbot House and the Warwick Community Counseling Center. She was a member of Hillsgrove United Methodist Church. Besides her father, she leaves a son, Nicholas G. Gifford of Warwick; two brothers, Michael Marurono of Warwick and Richard Marurono of Providence; a sister, Patricia Provau of Lakeland, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held in Hillsgrove United Methodist Church, Kilvert Street.

Mary H. Tourangeau
Mary H. Tourangeau, 86, of Lakewood Avenue, a former textile worker, died July 31, 2000, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. She was the wife of the late Earl A. Tourangeau. Born in Coventry, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Kwaciana) Pancerowicz, she had lived in West Warwick before moving to Warwick 21 years ago. Mrs. Tourangeau was a textile worker for the former Coventry Narrow Fabrics many years ago. She leaves two daughters, Shirley Winsor of East Greenwich and Loretta Thompson of Warwick, with whom she lived; a sister, Bertha St. Germain of Warwick; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late John, Frank and Anna Pancerowicz, Sophie Szeflinski and Helen Mayette. The funeral was held from The Prata Home, 78 Providence St., West Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church, Church Street, West Warwick. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Charles W. Angilly
Charles W. Angilly, 53, of Pine St., Attleboro, died August 1, 2000, at his home following a brief illness. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Arthur A. Jr. and Muriel M. (Morris) Angilly. He resided in Attleboro for the past year and previously lived in Norton. Prior to moving to Massachusetts, he was a resident of Providence and Warwick. He was a 1966 graduate of Pilgrim High School. Mr. Angilly was a Vietnam Veteran having served with the United States Air Force from 1966-1970, earning the rank of Sergeant. He leaves a son, Keith Angilly of New Haven, Conn.; a daughter, Kerry Angilly of Warwick; and two sisters, Jayne Robillard and Jeanne Singleton, both of Cranston. He was the brother of the late Evelyn Simas. Funeral services were private, followed by burial with military honors in the Rhode Island Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 1309 Beacon St., Brookline, MA 02446.

Richard J. Carpenter
Richard J. Carpenter, 76, of Littlefield Road, a retired shipyard foreman and career serviceman, died August 1, 2000, at Kent County Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Alice (Brunnell) Carpenter. Born in Wilmington, Mass., a son of the late Frank G. and Madeline (White) Carpenter, he lived in Warwick for 37 years. Mr. Carpenter worked at Electric Boat as a shipyard foreman in the testing department for 24 years, retiring in 1986. He was in the Navy for 23 years, retiring in 1962, and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 15, the Fleet Reserve, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Therese Rheaume of Gorham, Maine; three brothers, Paul Carpenter of Wilmington, Edward Carpenter of Salem, Mass., and Walter Carpenter of Amarillo, Texas; and a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Frank, Charles, Robert, Joseph and Chester Carpenter, and Edna Bridges. Committal prayers were held in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Burial with military honors followed.

Violet A. Moody
Violet A. Moody, 75, of Pequot Avenue, a retired presser and assembler, died August 1, 2000, at Kent County Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Don C. Moody and the late Lawrence R. Lincoln. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John E. and Grace E. (Jones) Webster, she lived in Warwick since 1939. Mrs. Moody was a presser for the former Sunbury Dress Co., West Warwick for 20 years, and an assembler for Northern Telecom for eight years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, where she served as a deaconess, chairwoman of the Bereans, and a volunteer for the SHARE program. She leaves a son, Roger K. Moody, and a brother, John E. Webster Jr., both of Warwick; two sisters, Shirley E. Andrews of Warwick and Grace E. Newman of Richmond; and a grandson, Wayne M. Anderson of Warwick. She was the sister-in-law of Elaine J. and Alice E. Webster both of Warwick, Ronald Newman Sr. of Richmond and Luther W. Andrews Jr. of Warwick. She was the mother of the late Linda E. Anderson and sister of the late Robert E. Webster and Judith Oulundsen. The funeral was held from Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a service in First Congregational Church, Oakland Beach Avenue. Burial was private.

Patricia L. Young
Patricia L. Young, 74, of Mansfield, Mass., a former purchasing assistant, died August 2, 2000, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Edwin F. Young Sr. Born in Rochester, N.H., a daughter of the late Philip and Florence (Duval) Shepard, she lived in Mansfield for 35 years. She was a purchasing assistant for Boston Scientific Corp, in Milford, for 15 years, retiring four years ago. She was a member of the First Christian Church in West Mansfield and its Missions Circle. She was a former Sunday school teacher at the church. She leaves two sons, Edwin F. Young Jr. of Warwick and Robert H. Young of North Attleboro; a daughter, Debra J. Gundlach of Mansfield; two sisters, Meredith St. Pierre in Florida and Virginia Cook in Maine; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held in First Christian Church, 11 Otis St., West Mansfield. Burial was in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia’s memory may be made to the Memorial Fund of the First Christian Church, 11 Otis St., West Mansfield, MA 02048.

Dorothy Ashworth
Dorothy Ashworth, 95, of Longwood Avenue, a retired licensed practical nurse, died August 3, 2000, at Harborside-Greenwood House Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Zachariah Ashworth. Born in Cranston, a daughter of the late William and Emma A. (Lowell) Merrill, she was a resident of Warwick since 1951, previously residing in Cranston. She was a licensed practical nurse for 10 years for Rhode Island Hospital, retiring in 1965. She formerly worked forAT&T as a supervisor for 19 years in Providence. She was a 1954 graduate of the Rhode Island School of Practical Nursing. She was a communicant of St. Peter Church, Warwick. She leaves two nephews, William B. Merrill in Connecticut and John B. Merrill of Warwick; and two nieces, Marilyn J. Metcalf of Warwick and Joan Foland of Erieville, N.Y.; also several great-nieces and -nephews. She was the sister of the late Lowell B. and Russell B. Merrill and Gladys S. Merrill. The funeral was held from Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Church, Fair Street. Burial was in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
