EVELYN M. AVERY of 19 Blanchard Ave. - Warwick
EVELYN M. AVERY of 19 Blanchard Ave., a retired worker in the payroll department for the state of Rhode Island, died Monday at home.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Harry and Margaret (Murphy) Avery, she had lived in Warwick for more than 50 years.
She leaves three brothers, Frank Avery of St. Petersburg, Fla., Warren Avery of Hartford, Conn., and Norman Avery of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a sister, Alice Lyle of Birmingham, Ala. She was a sister of the late Irvin Avery.
The funeral service was private. A memorial service will be held at a date to be announced.
PATRICIA WRIGHT of 1715 Prince Albert Drive - Providence
PATRICIA WRIGHT of 1715 Prince Albert Drive, Greensboro, N.C., died Monday at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. She was the wife of Robert A. Wright.
Mrs. Wright was born in Providence.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Timothy S. Wright of Virginia Beach, Va.; two daughters, Roberta C. Toshumba of Thomasville, N.C., and Felicia A. Wright of Greensboro; three sisters, Willielmina C. Stewart of Vallejo, Calif., Josephine G. Edwards of Milton, Mass., and Nadine L. Johnson of Warwick; and nine grandchildren.
The funeral and burial will be in Greensboro, N.C.
MARY L. SHARP - Providence
MARY L. SHARP, 76, of Judson Avenue, Mystic, Conn., died Tuesday at the Mary Elizabeth Nursing Home in Mystic. She was the wife of Lloyd M. Sharp.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John and Nora (Hayes) Hutzli.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Donald L. Sharp of Charlotte, Vt.; a sister, Frieda V. Sprito of Providence; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be private.
MARY L. MORAN - Providence
MARY L. MORAN, of River Avenue, a retired Providence school teacher, died yesterday at the Heritage Hills Nursing Center in Smithfield.
A lifelong Providence resident, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Elizabeth (Blessing) Moran.
She had taught at the Ruggles School in Providence for most of her 32-year career. She retired in 1960. She was a graduate of the former Rhode Island College of Education, now Rhode Island College.
She was a member of St. Xavier Academy Alumnae Association, the Rhode Island College Alumnae Association and the Rhode Island Federation of Retired Teachers.
She was a communicant of St. Pius V Church in Providence and a member of its Rosary and Altar Society and Club Domenicana.
She was also a member of the East Providence Senior Citizens.
She leaves several nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Dr. James B. Moran, John H. Moran and Jane E. Moran.
The funeral will be tomorrow at 9 a.m from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pius V Church, Eaton Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
HELEN M. MITCHELL - Providence
HELEN M. MITCHELL, 93, of Daniel Avenue, died Wednesday in the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center. She was the wife of the late Harry Mitchell.
Born in Winchester, Mass., a daughter of the late Thomas and Frances (Cavanaugh) Richards, she had lived in Providence for over 70 years.
She leaves a son, George E. Mitchell of Warwick, and two grandchildren. She was the sister of the late William, Edward and Raymond Richards and Louise Hughes.
The funeral will be tomorrow at 8 a.m. from the William T. Forde Funeral Home, 417 Plainfield St., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, Plainfield Street, at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
ROBERT CHARLES HARDING - Portsmouth
ROBERT CHARLES HARDING, 73, of 2100 Kings Highway, Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Portsmouth, a career Navy veteran before retiring as lieutenant commander in 1971, died Monday at St. Joseph Hospital in Port Charlotte.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late William Harding and Elizabeth (Robinson) Harding Gorman, he had lived in Tiverton before moving to Portsmouth, where he lived for 15 years before moving to Florida seven years ago.
Mr. Harding was a 1941 graduate of Oliver High School in Pittsburgh, and joined the Navy at the age of 18. He was a 30-year veteran, having served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In Portsmouth, he was a member of the Bristol County Elks, the Portuguese American Club and the Montaup Country Club. He was a member of the Moose, the Elks and the Eagles in Port Charlotte. He enjoyed golfing.
He leaves a daughter, Nancy Harding in Texas; a sister, Elizabeth Jane Maze of Pittsburgh; and a grandson. He was the companion of Lilianne Robinson of Port Charlotte.
Cremation will take place in Florida.
FLORENCE E. PION - Pawtucket
FLORENCE E. PION, 69, of Hunt Avenue, died yesterday at home. She was the widow of Ralph Pion.
A lifelong city resident, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Rose Alma Trahan.
She leaves two sisters, Rosella Perry of Pawtucket and Helen Baldacchinno of Plymouth, Mass.; and three brothers, Raymond F. Trahan of Rumford, Joseph George Trahan of Pawtucket and Wilfred Trahan of Omaha, Neb.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Leo the Great Church, Central Avenue. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
MABEL E. MAROVELLI - Pawtucket
MABEL E. MAROVELLI, 82, of Whittier Road, died yesterday at the Slater Health Center. She was the wife of the late Bruno Marovelli.
Born in Easthampton, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Mabel (Grant) Robinson. She had lived in Pawtucket for the last 50 years.
Mrs. Marovelli was a homemaker.
Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Albert Krueger of Las Vegas, Nev., Frederick Krueger of Central Falls and Bruno Marovelli of Seekonk; three daughters, Roberta Bailey of Norwalk, Conn., Helen McWilliams of Rumford and Corinne Orlinski of Westford, Mass.; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Marovelli was the sister of the late Edna, James and Albert Robinson.
A private funeral service will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage St. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, North Smithfield.
LILLIAN JUTRAS - Pawtucket
LILLIAN JUTRAS, 85, formerly of Farnum Street, died Wednesday at the Greenwood House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Warwick. She was the widow of Edgar J. Jutras.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Margaret (Moran) Treanor. She had been a resident of Pawtucket for 50 years, and she was a communicant of St. Leo the Great Church.
She leaves a son, Paul S. Jutras of North Attleboro, and three grandsons.
She was the sister of the late George, Edward and Joseph Treanor.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. tomorrow from the Darlington Mortuary of L. Heroux & Son, 1042 Newport Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leo the Great Church, Central Avenue, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
ANTOINETTE BRODEUR - Pawtucket
ANTOINETTE BRODEUR, 86, formerly of Magill Street, died yesterday at the Woonsocket Health Care Center in Woonsocket.
A lifelong Pawtucket resident, she was a daughter of the late John and Cordelia (Dubeau) Dubeau.
She leaves three sons, Richard J. Brodeur of Pawtucket, Albert J. Brodeur in California and George H. LeMieux of North Providence, and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 9 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Pine Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
