Funeral services for Mabel (Lopes) DePalma were held Friday, May 10, from Sansone Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian burial at St. Elizabeth's Church.
The Rev. Thomas J. Ferland was the celebrant and homilist for the Mass. Offertory gifts were presented by Mrs. DePalma's son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Ann DePalma.
Burial followed in North Burial Ground, where Father Ferland read the committal prayers. The eulogist was grandson, Kenneth A. Ambrose. Serving as pallbearers were Kenneth A. and Christopher K. Ambrose, Dean J. and Alan A. DePalma, John A. Sicignano and Drew Pansa.
Mrs. DePalma, 83, of 168 Franklin St. died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at Desilets Nursing Home in Warren. She was the wife of the late Anthony "Brush" DePalma.

Rene E. ("Pepere") Parent, 74, of Westport, died Friday, May 17, 2002, at home. He was the husband of Evelyn (Vieira) Parent.
Natalie Warren Herreshoff
Lifelong resident; museum trustee
Natalie Warren Herreshoff, 78, of Bristol, died Sunday, May 19, 2002 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.
A daughter of the late Nathaniel G. Herreshoff Jr. and Helen Warren Herreshoff, she was a lifelong Bristol resident. She was the granddaughter of Capt. Nathanael Greene Herreshoff of boat building fame and had descended from many of Bristol's earliest families.
Ms. Herreshoff graduated from Colt Memorial High School in 1941 and later from the Katherine Gibbs School. She was a secretary in Providence and at the U.S. Rubber Company in Bristol.
She was a trustee of the Herreshoff Marine Museum, where she also served as a volunteer. She was a member of the Rhode Island Historical Society, Blithewold Mansion, Gardens and Arboretum, and Linden Place. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Bristol, where she sang in the choir and was also parish secretary for many years.
An ardent proponent of environmental preservation, she was particularly fond of pets, especially her dog, Buster, who is now in the care of her health care provider, Allie Cordeiro. She was a member of the Morning Glories.
She leaves her first cousins, Nathanael G. Herreshoff, III of Mt. Laurel, N.J., and Halsey C. Herreshoff of Bristol; and cousins, Heidi Herreshoff of Denver, Colo., Karl F. Herreshoff of British Columbia, Halsey C. Herreshoff, II of Bristol, and Kirsten Herreshoff of Bristol; and other cousins.
She was the sister of the late Clara DeWolf Herreshoff.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 22, in St. Michael's Church. Burial followed in Juniper Hill Cemetery.

Longtime Bristol resident; R.I.D.E. driver
Mark A. Alves, 39, of Warren, died Monday, May 13, 2002, at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. He was the husband of Lori (Mays) Alves.
Born in Fall River, a son of Edward J. Alves Jr. of Port Charlotte, Fla. and the late Mary (Pacheco) Alves, he was a Bristol resident most of his life.
He was a bus operator for many years with the R.I.D.E. program in East Providence. He also owned and operated MLA Vending in North Port, Fla., for two years. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church in Bristol.
He leaves a son, Mark A. Alves, Jr. of Warren; two brothers, Edward J. Alves III of Bristol and Bruce E. Alves of Warren; and a sister, Brenda L. McKain of Warren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 18, from the Wilbur Romano Funeral Home in Warren, with a Mass of Christian burial at St. Elizabeth's Church. The Rev. Thomas J. Ferland was the celebrant and homilist for the Mass. Joseph Mays and Wayne Ferreira were the readers. Christine Gumes read the Prayer of the Faithful. Son Mark A. Alves Jr. and niece Kayla Alves presented offertory gifts.
Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, where Father Ferland read the committal prayers. Thomas C. Parrillo, Steven M. Parrillo, Paul A. Oliver, Michael C. Balzano, Michael E. Smith, Chad E. Silva, Jeremy A. Trudell and Jason A. Trudell were the pallbearers.

Funeral services for Andrew L. Bozzario were held Friday, May 17, 2002, from the Sansone Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
The Rev. James J. Verdelotti was the principal celebrant and homilist for the Mass. The Rev. Henry P. Zinno, Jr. concelebrated.
Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, where Father Verdelotti read the committal prayers. Pallbearers were Robert Corson, Joseph F. Malloy, Louis J. Bozzario, Craig L. Bozzario, George P. Vezina, Joseph M. Pagano and Robert A. Hart.
Mr. Bozzario, a Wood Street resident, died Monday, May 13, 2002, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the son of the late Cirol and Michelina (Anastasia) Bozzario.
