Otis Hankerson
WILLISTON - Funeral services for Otis Hankerson will be held at 2 p.m. today at Saint Peter Baptist Church, Elko.
The Rev. A. C. Settles will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hankerson, 90, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Silver Springs Health Care Center, Williston.
Friends may call at the residence of his sister, Mary C. Moore, 906 Elko St., Williston, or at Green's Funeral Home, Blackville.
Eugene M. Lockhart
Memorial services for Eugene M. Lockhart will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rivers Funeral Home.
Mr. Lockhart, 83, of Aiken, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Shadow Oaks Assisted Living Facility.

Leroy Walker
WILLISTON - Funeral arrangements for Leroy Walker will be announced by Simmons Funeral Home, Williston.
Mr. Walker, 82, of 11 Roy St., died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at Barnwell County Hospital.
Friends may call at the residence of his sister, Josephine Brown, 11 Roy St., or at the funeral home.
Charles Czagas
Funeral services for Charles Czagas were held in New Jersey with burial in Lodi Cemetery, Lodi, N.J.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Aiken.
The Rev. Calvin Vick will officiate.
Mr. Czagas, 87, of Aiken, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
George Funeral Homes, Downtown, is in charge of local arrangements.
George Bowers Toulmin, foreign service officer
George Bowers Toulmin died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Mr. Toulmin, 84, resided in Aiken. Funeral services will be private.
A native of Toulminville, Ala., Mr. Toulmin was a son of Lyman D. and Bessie G. Stein Toulmin.
He was a retired foreign service officer of the United States and a college professor.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served as an intelligence officer during World War II.
He also an official of the U.S. State Department, including service at posts in new Delhi, Nigeria, Paris and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
Surviving are his widow, Elizabeth Eade; a brother, Ashby H. Toulmin, Dallas, Tex.; and a sister, Bessie T. Goudelock, Mobile, Ala.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 7044, Columbia, S.C. 29202.
Rivers Funeral Home, Aiken, is in charge of arrangements.
Sam Woodring
NORTH AUGUSTA - Funeral services for Sam Woodring will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at the First Baptist Church, North Augusta.
Dr. Gary C. Redding, Ken Goss and Dr. John M. Younginer Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Woodring, 75, of Dunbarton Drive, died Thursday, Nov. 15.
Survivors include his wife, Mim Woodring.
Memorials may be made to the North Augusta Bible Chapter, 460 West Martintown Road, North Augusta, 29841.
The family will receive friends at the Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Richard Leroy Edwards Sr., former business owner
GREENWOOD - Richard Leroy Edwards Sr., formerly of Aiken, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Wesley Commons Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at the Harley Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Larry Jenkins will officiate and burial will be in Aiken Memorial Park.
Mr. Edwards was a native of Paragould, Ariz. He was a son of the late James Riley and Nancy B. Edwards. He was the husband of the late Edna Holcombe Edwards. He was the former owner of
Montgomery Crawford Building Supply and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a former member of the Lions Club and Palmetto Golf Club, and Star Fort National Golf Club in Ninety Six. He
was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Dick Edwards of Greenwood and Neville Edwards of Saluda; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 1 to 2 p.m. or at the home of his son, Dick Edwards, 103 Chase Lane, Greenwood.
Derrick Washington, communications technician
CALVERTON, N.Y. - Derrick Christopher Washington of Hill Spur died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, in the World Trade Center tragedy.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Beech Island. The Rev. Roger Lane will officiate.
Mr. Washington was a native of New York. He was a senior communications technician for GTE Telecom. He received his associates degree in telecommunications from DeVry Institute.
Survivors include his wife, Kiesha Washington; three sons, Christopher Sean, Devin Tre'Lorenz and Malik Ziaire Washington, all of Calverton; his parents, Ernest and Lettie Washington of Brooklyn; his
grandmother, Gladys Washington of Beech Island; two brothers, Tracey and Brandon Washington, both of Brooklyn; and a grandmother, Beatrice Walker of Selma, Ala.
G.L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary, North Augusta, is in charge of arrangements.
Emily Louise Smith Sharpe, retired secretary
TRENTON - Funeral services for Emily Louise Smith Sharpe will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at the Shellhouse Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Caleb Coffin will officiate and burial will be
private.
Ms. Sharpe, 76, of Smallwood Lane, died Thursday, Nov. 15, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Ms. Sharpe was a native of Walterboro. She had lived in the Trenton area since 1985. She was a retired secretary and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vaucluse. She was a daughter of the late
Charles Luther Smith and Virginia Barrow Smith.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Sharpe Rickard of Trenton; a son, Steven David Sharpe of Martinez, Ga.; a brother, Michael W. Smith of Charleston; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 120 York St., Aiken, 29801.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.

AUGUSTA - Willie Reddish, 73, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at the Salem Nursing Home.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Cheatham Funeral Home.
John Cary "Bubba" Redd, Worsham Sprinkler worker
WINDSOR - John Cary "Bubba" Redd, 46, of State Park Road, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Folk Funeral Home chapel, Williston. Burial will be in the Spring Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Windsor.
Mr. Redd was a native of Aiken County. He worked for Worsham Sprinkler in Norcross, Ga. He received his degree in blueprinting and instrumentation at Tri-Tech of Charleston. He was a member of
Spring Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Ervin L. and Louise Mundy Redd of Windsor; and a sister, Janice Inabinet of Windsor.
Memorials may be made to the Hitchcock Hospice, 690 Medical Park Drive, Aiken, 29801.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m.
Jack Henderson
JOHNSTON - Jack Henderson, of Old Chapel Ferry Road, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at Jeter Baptist Church. The Rev. James Thomas will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Henderson was a native of Edgefield County. He was a member and a deacon of Jeter Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Henderson; two daughters, Linda Henderson of New Ellenton and Rosa H. Johnson of Johnston; two sons, Calvin Henderson of Edgefield and Bernard Henderson of
Johnston; five sisters, Mae Bell Ryan, Rosa L. Adams and Kate Tillman, all of Edgefield, Beatrice D. Lewis of Hyattsville, Md., and Mattie Hodge of King George, Va.; a brother, Raiford Henderson of
Cheverly, Md.; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandson.
Don Smith, retired broadcast engineer
GLOVERVILLE - Don Smith, of Back Street, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Langley First Baptist Church. The Revs. Chris Masters and Frank Barker will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Mr. Smith was a retired broadcast engineer from the Medical College of Georgia with 13 years of service and WRDW TV Channel 12 with 25 years of service. He was the water commissioner for the Valley
Public Service Authority, and was the present commodore of the Augusta Boating Club, a member of the Bath Masonic Lodge No. 263 AFM, a member of the Jamil Temple AAONMS of Columbia and a
member of the Korean War Association.
He was a member of the Langley First Baptist Church, where he was in the L.B. Ergle Bible Class, on the multi-media committee and in the Triple L Club.
Survivors include a son, Keith Smith of Gloverville; his mother, Sadie Adams Smith of Langley; a brother, Tony Smith of Langley; two sisters, Audrey Duncan of Burnettown and Amanda Long of Augusta;
and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Harden, Buck Wilson, John McGee, Danny Smalley, Alan Eubanks, Ray Willis and Richard Harden.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Bath Masonic Lodge No. 263 AFM and members of the L.B. Ergle Bible class.
Memorials may be made to the Langley First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 321 Langley, 29843.
The family will receive friends at Hatcher Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. Mr. Smith will be placed in the church on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Magalene Stallings
HILTON HEAD - Funeral services for Magalene Stallings will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at the Jackson-Brooks Memorial Chapel, Aiken. The Rev. Alvin C. Settles will officiate.
Ms. Stallings, 63, of Sandlewood Terrace, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Bayview Nursing Home, Beaufort.
The family will receive friends at the residence of her sister, Sarah Tanksley, 504 Washington Circle, Aiken, or at the funeral home beginning 4 p.m. today.
Thomas "Snipe" Roberson
WINDSOR - Funeral services for Thomas "Snipe" Roberson will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at Oakwood Baptist Church, Oakwood. The Rev. Wesley Guyton will officiate and burial will
be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Roberson, 84, of Old Tory Trail Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, at his residence.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Scott, Bernard Roberson, Tobey Roberson, Mack Weaver, Jacob Roberson and Marquis Brown.
The family will receive friends at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home today beginning at 4 p.m. and at the church Saturday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
Willie Lee Abne
Funeral services for Willie Lee Abney will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at Zion Field Baptist Church, Aiken. The Rev. John I. Gibson will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Abney, 55, of Marlboro Street, died Monday, Nov. 12, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Mr. Abney was a native of Aiken. He was a member of Zion Field Baptist Church, Aiken.
Survivors include his wife, Susan F. Abney of Aiken; six daughters, Viola Thomas and Dejuna Abney, both of Aiken, Kay Frances Abney, Barbara Abney, Carolyn Abney and Rosa Abney, all of Barnwell;
four sons, Willie Lee Abney Jr. and Calvin Abney, both of Barnwell, Thomas Lee and Willie L. Lee Jr., both of Aiken; a sister, Katie Mae Copeland of Aiken; four brothers, Roosvelt Abney, Eugene Abney,
Lawrence Abney, all of Aiken, and Johnny Abney of Hempstead, N.Y.
Pallbearers will be Ali Jackson, Jake Walker, Antonio Abney, Freddie Copeland, Willie Abney, Willie Lee and Thomas Lee.
The family will receive friends at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home today beginning at 4 p.m. and at the residence of his brother, Lawrence Abney, 843 Dillon Ave., Aiken.
