Harold Willers Tompkins of Aiken died of heart failure at the Aiken Regional Medical Centers on Saturday morning. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003 at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Dr. David Cozad and Jonathan Van Deventer officiating. Patricia J. Wahl
NORTH AUGUSTA-Entered into rest Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, Miss Patricia Joann Wahl, 41, beloved daughter of Jane Murphy Wahl and Jack D. Wahl, Sr. of North Augusta. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Jack D. Wahl, Jr. of North Augusta; sister, Peggy J. Chalker, and brother-in-law, Danny Chalker; nephew, Danny Chalker, Jr.; and a niece, Amy Chalker, all of Gloverville. She was born in Columbia but was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. She was of the Baptist faith. The family stated that Patricia loved bluegrass music and she loved her beagle, Heidi, which she referred to as her baby. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Napier Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Catoe officiating. The interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The pallbearers will be Troy Murphy, Jimmie Bland, Danny Chalker and Darren Tanten. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 6-8 p.m. Napier Funeral home, 315 Main St., Graniteville.

Miss Jane Theresa Woodward, 94, of Aiken, died on Sept. 28, 2003. Graveside services will be held at Millbrook Baptist Church at 2 p.m. today. George Cothran Davis
George Cothran Davis, 59, of 3008 Old Camp Long Road, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Davis, born in Simpsonville, was a son of Annie Lois Banks Thackston and the late Hubert Nalley Davis Sr. He was a millright with Carolina Eastman and a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Gold Wing Road Rider Association.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Patricia Anne Tucker Davis; daughters, Pamela Fowler of Tennessee, Karen McKee of Piedmont, Christina Cook and her husband, Walt, of Aiken; sons and their wives, Hubert Allen and Leann H. Davis and George Leslie and Hope Davis, all of Aiken; mother, Annie Lois Banks Thackston of Simpsonville; brothers, Hubert Nalley Davis Jr. of Aiken and Boyce Thackston of Simpsonville; sister, Evelyn Gilstrap of Simpsonville; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. in the Cannon Memorial Park in Fountain Inn. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 a.m. until noon at the funeral home before the service.

STURGIS, Mich. - Audrey "Loree" Allen, 69, entered into rest on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 4 at the chapel of Cobb's Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis, Mich. The body will lie in state at the funeral home on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at noon. Family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 4 from 1:30 to 2 p.m.
Survivors include children, James A. Allen Jr. and daughter-in-law, Debra, and Tamra Perry and son-in-law, Derrick; and grandchildren, Jamie Allen, James (Jay) Allen III, Lauren, Miles, Nina, Kellen and Carsyn Perry.

SALLEY - The funeral for Jesse Greene, 54, 719 Tabernacle Road, Salley, will be at Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Jerusalem Branch Baptist Church in Salley, with the Rev. Danny Singleton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The casket will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Pallbearers will be deacons and trustees.
Mr. Greene was born in Aiken County, a son of the late Jerry Greene and Janie Reed Greene. He was a graduate of Wagener-Salley High School and furthered his education by obtaining his certificate in barbering.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Wade Greene of Clearwater; son, Jerry Greene of Augusta; four brothers, Eddie Greene and Johnny Greene of Aiken, Robert Greene of Wagener, and Ernest Greene of Bronx, N.Y.; two sisters, Irene McCarther of Saint Albans, N.Y. and Alberta Gantt of Miami, Fla; and one aunt, Lucille Reed of Salley.
Visitation will be today from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Moore was a native of Aiken and was a homemaker. She is survived by three daughters, Della (Charlie) Williamson, Mary (Andrew James) Brunson and Julia Quiller, all of Aiken; one son, Lewis Abraham Moore, Aiken; 27 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren and three great-great-great- grandchildren. Vera Lee McCaslin, 83, of Aiken, wife of John Thomas Nation, died Monday,
Feb. 2, 2004 at Azalea Woods. A memorial service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. A native of Princeton, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Ervie and Francis Pierson McCaslin. She was a homemaker. Survivors, in addition to her husband, of Ava, Mo., include two sons, Jerry T. Nation, Graniteville and John T. Nation, Ozark, Mo., a sister, Margaret Ostrowski, Princeton, Ky., four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

BEECH ISLAND - Entered into rest on Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, following an extended illness, Mr. David Edward Olyowski, husband of Dr. Nancy A. Olyowski.
He was born in Vicksburg, Miss. to the late Edward and Dorothy Winters Olyowski. He was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps.

Elizabeth Toulmin, 88, of Aiken, widow of George B. Toulmin, died Monday, Feb. 02, 2004 at Eden Gardens. Funeral services will be private. A native of England, Mrs. Toulman was a daughter of the late Edward and Sarah Firth Lawrie. She was an owner of a ballet studio in Baltimore, Md. for a number of years and had done work with CBS Television as a choreographer. There are no survivors.

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - Mildred Beatrice Bennett, 84, died Feb. 3, 2004. Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Garner-Harper Chapel, Grenada, Miss. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Wayside Cemetery, Scobey, Miss. with Brother Billy Burlison officiating.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Harold J. Bennett; sons, Donas Wayne Bennett of Aiken, Jackie Randall Bennett of Bastrop, La., David Duncan Bennett of Olive Branch, Miss; sisters, Lucille Latch and Loretta Knight, both of Corinth, Miss.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by a son, Harold Jack Bennett Jr., five sisters, three brothers and one grandchild, Randy Bennett.

Mr. E. Marion Bryant, 70, of 4181 Edisto Road, Aiken, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004 in the Eisenhower Medical Center in Augusta.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Yoho officiating. Interment in the church Cemetery will be private at a later date.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, Mr. Bryant was a manufacturing mechanic. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and was a Mason. He was also in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his two daughters, Shannon Bryant and Audrey Green of Aiken; a son, Dale Bryant of Aiken; a step daughter, Joan Holder of Wagener; five grandchildren, Brandy Bryant, Heather Bryant, Kristin Green, Allen Cumbee and Ramey Holder: his former wife, Frances Bryant; and a sister, Margaret Diacetis, Aiken.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Building Fund, 164 Mt. Pleasant Road, Ridge Spring 29129.

GRANITEVILLE - Entered into rest Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, Mr. Marvin Frank "Yank" Carpenter of Graniteville, husband of the late Gladys Odom Carpenter and son of the late William C. Carpenter and the late Hattie Williams Carpenter. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Rachels, and son-in-law, Harry Rachels of North Augusta. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Graniteville. He was a retired U.S. postmaster and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Graniteville. He was also a lifetime member of Graniteville Masonic Star Lodge #99 and he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Graniteville Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Wilson officiating. The pallbearers will be Larry Duffer, Ken Screws, Ed Inabinet, Dick Smith, Harold Bledsoe and Eddie Renew.
