Brenda Johnson Poole
PELION - Ms. Brenda Faye Johnson Poole, 55, entered into rest Wednesday, March 2, 2005.
Ms. Poole was born in Aiken County, the daughter of Edna Hall Johnson and the late James Bruce Johnson. She was the widow of Roy Baker Poole and was also preceded in death by her sister Alice Elaine J. Brown. Ms. Poole was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church where she served as the pianist for many years. She was a bookkeeper at Lexington High School and secretary at Pelion Middle School.
Ms. Poole is survived by her mother Ms. Edna Johnson of Pelion; sons and daughters-in-law Lt. Benjamin Roy and Kelly Poole, U.S.A.F., Universal City, Texas, David Bruce and Kristalyn Poole of Pelion; and grandchildren William Baker Poole, Nate Poole and Johanna Clare Poole.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 6, at 3 p.m. from the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Griffin, Rev. Carl Koon, and the Rev. Bruce Garner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joey Poole, Henry Poole, Mitch Poole, Wesley Poole, Jason Poole, and Ervin Poole. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Poole, Trey Wren, David Laird and deacons of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church.

"W.H." Young
Funeral services for Mr. William H. "W.H." Young, 89, of Whiskey Road, Aiken, who died March 3, 2005, will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home with the Rev. John George officiating. Private Interment in the Young Family Cemetery.
Mr. Young was a lifelong resident of Aiken County and was a Baptist. He was the retired owner of Atomic Wreaking Co. and Atomic Auto Parts. Mr. Young was the husband of the late Mrs. Eunice Boyd Young.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis and Nancy Young and Wyman Young, all of Aiken, William and Joyce Boyd, Easley; a brother, Melvin Young, Beech Island; a sister, Idell George, Aiken; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8.

WARRENVILLE - The funeral service for Mr. James Clifford Baker of Warrenville will be conducted Tuesday, March 8, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with the Rev. Heather Marie Cassidy
Heather Marie Cassidy, 18, of Aiken, died Friday, March 4, 2005, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers following a brief illness. She was born May 30, 1986, at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Wash., and was the daughter of G. Timothy and Rosemarie (Brown) Cassidy, Aiken.
Heather was a 2004 graduate of Aiken High School and was a member of the band and the National Junior ROTC program at high school. She was also active with the Explorer Post in Aiken. Prior to moving to South Carolina in 2001, she lived in Wiesbaden, Germany, and attended high school there. While in high school in Germany, Heather was a member of the marching band, was a member of the swim and track teams and was the manager of the wrestling team. In addition, she was a Girl Scout and had earned her Silver Star. She was currently enrolled at Aiken Technical College's pre-dental hygienist program and worked part-time at Tractor Supply on Whiskey Road.
In addition to her parents, Heather is survived by one sister, Nicole Cassidy; one brother, Timothy Seamus Cassidy; her fiancé, Dustin Blair of Aiken; her maternal grandmother, Rose Knechel of Aiken; her paternal grandmother, Doris R. "Dot" Cassidy of Bridgeton, N.J.; aunts and uncles on the Brown side of the family, including Bobby Brown Sr. and wife Cynthia of Cookeville, Tenn., Pansy L. Brown of Allens, Tenn., Elsie L. Brown and Thomas Brown both of New Jersey, Bradford Brown of Pennsylvania, Linda Cramer and Susan Vogel both of New Jersey and their children, Bobby Brown Jr., Angie, Doreen and Colleen Bown and Holly Kerpew. Heather is also survived by an aunt and uncle on the Cassidy side of the family, Vanessa A. Cassidy and Jeffery W. Cassidy Sr., both of Bridgeton, N.J. and their children, Amanda Arnold, Jeffery Jr., Joshua and Micah Cassidy, several great aunts and great uncles in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and her West Highland Terrier, Molly. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, George Cassidy on Feb. 12, 2005, and her maternal grandfather, Truman Brown in 1987.
A memorial service will be held Monday evening, March 7, at 7 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Whiskey Road in Aiken.
A visitation will be held Thursday, March 10, and ceremony on March 11 in Bridgeton, N.J., under the direction of the Freitag Funeral Home of Bridgeton.
Interment will be made at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Township, N.J.

Carl Arthur Dyche, 66, of Aiken, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at his residence. Services will be Wednesday, March 9, at 2 p.m. at South Aiken Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Historic Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruth Robinson Bridges
BATH - Entered into rest on Friday, March 4, 2005, Mrs. Ruth Robinson Bridges, formerly of Augusta Road, Bath. She was the wife of the late Mr. Ansel "Bo" Bridges and the mother of the late Mr. Jerry Robinson.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Robinson was born in Augusta to the late Lonnie and Bertie Robinson. She retired from Bath Mill with 50 years of service. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and a Sunday School teacher for more than 50 years and past treasurer for more than 20 years at the church.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Louis Swanson officiating. Mrs. Bridges will be placed in the church on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jack Ott, Julian Roberts, Charles Adams, LaRue Godbee, Jimmy Bagwell and Jerry Pryor.
Friends may call tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hatcher Funeral Home.

Thomas Cushman
WARRENVILLE - Entered into rest Saturday, March 5, 2005, Mr. Thomas "Bob" Cushman of Warrenville, beloved husband of Myrtie Johnson Cushman and son of the late Gola Cushman and the late Clotilde Weeks Cushman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Rick Cushman and his wife, Sibyl, and Robert Cushman, all of Aiken; a daughter, Kim Dailey and her husband Randall, of Graniteville; two grandchildren, Thomas and Sarah Cushman of Aiken; a brother, Ramie Cushman and his wife, Janette, of Holden Beach, N.C.; three sisters, Mary Harrison of Warrenville, Joan Woodzell and her husband, Jack, of Graniteville and Linda Brubaker and her husband, John, of Anacortes, Wash.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Roslyn Duggans.
He was born in Barnwell County but has been a resident of Aiken County for the past 62 years. He attended Stiefeltown Baptist Church and was a member of the C.E. Jay Sunday School class.
He retired as a skilled craftsman for H.W. Duffie Construction Co. in Martinez, Ga., after 19 years of service. For years he worked on projects in New York on the St. Lawrence Seaway and Niagra Falls, Las Vegas, Nev., and South Georgia. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union No. 283 in Augusta. He was a member of the Star Lodge No. 99 in Graniteville. He was a member of the Aiken-Barnwell Genealogical Society. He was a Mayflower Descendant and a member of the Mayflower Descendants of South Carolina Society. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, having served his county during the Korean Conflict.
The family stated that he was a good husband father, father-in-law and grandfather, who just adored his grandchildren. They further stated that he also had a great love for the Edisto River and was an avid fisherman and gardener.
In summation, he was a well-rounded family man who enjoyed life to the fullest; and yes, he will surely be missed by all whose lives he touched.
The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday evening, March 8, at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Broach and Dr. W.C. Lowe officiating. Interment will be private.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the C.E. Jay Sunday School class of Stiefeltown Baptist Church and Tommy Proctor, Leon Kneece, Ricky Green, Joey Weeks and Wilford Rearden.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the hour of service (6:30 p.m.) on Tuesday evening.

Jean Adams Ebenhack
A Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Jean Adams Ebenhack will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken.
Mrs. Ebenhack, 83, of Aiken, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at her residence. Born in Kenmore, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Carl and Hazel (Adams) Almeter.
She spent most of her life as a devoted wife and mother, but did work for the Army Corps of Engineers as the secretary to Commanding General Mathias on the "Manhattan Project." She was a volunteer Docent for the Aiken County Historical Museum and used to volunteer at Aiken Elementary School, helping children learn to read.
Jean was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christian's Church and had been responsible for caring for the Altar Cloths for more than 37 years. She was also a member of the Wildwood Garden Club and the Academy of Lifelong Learning at USC Aiken.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Don G. Ebenhack, Aiken; two sons; David (Rebecca) Ebenhack, Raleigh, N.C. and Peter (Julie) Ebenhack, Westminster; a daughter; Ellen (Robert) Miller, Aiken; a sister, Eleanor Almy, Denver, Colo.; and seven grandchildren; Eben, Zeke, Travis, Meredith, Sarah and Johnathon.

Gladys E. Nunn
WINDSOR - Funeral Services for Mrs. Gladys E. Nunn will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church of Windsor, Windsor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Nunn, 79, of Windsor died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Agape Skilled Care in West Columbia. A lifelong resident of Windsor, she was a daughter of the late William and Eva (Odom) Eubanks. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Windsor, were she taught the adult Sunday School class for 47 years. She loved the Lord and her church. Mrs. Nunn was a loved mother and grandmother. She will be missed.
In addition to her parents, she is pre-deceased by her husband, James L. Nunn, who died in 1996. Mrs. Nunn is survived by two sons, Roger B. Nunn, Lexington and Michael (Carmen) Nunn, Columbia; two granddaughters, Crystal and Monica Nunn, both of Lexington; her sister, Dorothy Crumpler, Chapin; her brother, Leon Eubanks, Charleston; and a sister-in-law Frances Nunn, Windsor.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or First Baptist Church of Windsor Cemetery Fund.

Leon Bonnette
Entered into rest on Saturday, March 5, 2005, Mr. Leon Bonnette, of 820 Good Springs Road, Aiken. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Garvin Bonnette, a daughter Ms. Annette Bonnette and granddaughter, Wanda Beach.
Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Cobb Weeks of Aiken; two sons, Billy Bonnette of Aiken and Larry Bonnette of Clearwater; a sister, Vivian Selfridge of Clearwater; two brothers, Elmer O. Bonnette of Clarksville, Ga., and Blanchard Bonnette of Warrenville; nine grandchildren, Tiffany Coleman, Tanya Odom, Tammy Ballentine, Michael Bonnette, Marty Ellis, Ross Craven, Renee Hutto, Diane Pilot and Gene Weeks Jr.; and 12 great grandchildren.
Mr. Bonnette was born in Windsor to the late Cohen and Annie Bonnette. He retired from Bath Mill with 30 years of service. He was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church and a member of the Civilian Conservation Corporation.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Elmer Bonnette and Chaplin Kathy Cole officiating. Interment will be in the Graniteville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Coleman, Jerry Odom, Steve Hutto, Richard Ballentine, Ross Craven and Leon Garvin.

Margaret Kitchens Attaway
WARRENVILLE - Entered into rest on Monday, March 7, 2005, Mrs. Margaret Kitchens Attaway, wife of the late Mr. Tommy Attaway, formerly of Augusta Road, Warrenville.
Surviving are a niece, Jessie Lee Widener of Aiken, several dear friends, Eddie Mills of Aiken, Ollie Eubanks of Warrenville and Linda Ergle of Graniteville.
Mrs. Attaway was born in Aiken County to the late Doc Wiley and Bertha Redd Kitchens. She was retired from Graniteville Co. Granite Division with 23 years of service. She was a member of Darian Baptist Church, Montmorenci.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. B. Redd officiating. Interment will follow in the Darian Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Mills, Lynn Barnes, Eddie Chalker, Wiley Kitchings, Frank Kitchings and Johnny Kitchings.
