MADELINE DuBOSE
DARLINGTON – Graveside funeral services for Madeline Goodson DuBose, 59, were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, in Lamar Cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Mrs. DuBose died Tuesday, Jan. 15, in a Florence hospital after an illness. She was born in Greenville, daughter of the late James N. and Catherine Fields Goodson Sr. and was married to the late Glenn DuBose Jr. She was employed by the Darlington County Voter Registration Board and was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Scott (Terri) DuBose and Lee (Tina) DuBose, both of Darlington; one daughter, Peggy D. Stokes, also of Darlington; four grandchildren, Langley Scott DuBose, Cody Glenn DuBose, Joshua Daniel Stokes and Jessica Rene Stokes; two sisters, Mrs. Randy (Betty Jean) Bryant and Mrs. George (Barbara) Tisdale, both of Darlington; and one brother, Jimmy (Joy) Goodson, also of Darlington.
Memorials are suggested to Central Baptist Church, 512 Spring Street, Darlington, SC 29532.

QUEEN EMMA DuBOSE
Funeral services for Queen Emma Williams DuBose will be held 12 noon today, Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, in Northminster Presbyterian Church in Columbia. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery of Hartsville, directed by Hines Funeral Home.
Mrs. DuBose died Tuesday, Jan. 15. She was born in Darlington County, the daughter of the late Johnnie and Amy Simons Williams. She attended Northminster Presbyterian Church and New Free Hope Independent Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Sophie D. (Leon) Babridge; grandson, Kevin L. Babridge Sr.; great-grandsons, Kevin L. Babridge Jr. and Karl C. Babridge; a special niece, Jeannette Span of Hartsville and nephews.

HATTIE MARSHALL
Funeral Services for Hattie McKay Marshall, 72, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at Wesley United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Surrett will officiate with burial in Magnolia Cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church Building Fund, 145 E. College Ave., Hartsville, SC 29550.
Mrs. Marshall, widow of George A. "June" Marshall, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late James Farley and Stella Mae Jones McKay. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Rosa Lee Circle. She was retired as a registered nurse and was a member of Bay Leaf Garden Club.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Al and Janice Marshall of Hartsville, Chris and Jan Marshall of Columbia; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and James Davis of Colleyville, Texas, Debbie Morrell of Hartsville, Cindy and David Seagle Hartsville; Beth and Tommy Weir of Simpsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Clarence Perkins of Florence; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

WANDA LYNN HOWLE
Funeral services for Wanda Lynn Skipper Howle, 49, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at Lakeview Baptist Church. The Revs. Charles Boswell, Don Purvis and Jim Kelley will officiate with burial in Magnolia Cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lakeview Baptist Family Center Fund.
Mrs. Howle died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late W. Jack and Ray Johnson Skipper. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, co-teacher of Loving Hands Sunday School Class, group leader of Koinonia WMU, member of the Benevolence Group, choir member and soloist. She was owner and operator of Wanda Lynn's Friends Day Care Center and past president of Northwood Subdivision Garden Club.
Surviving are her husband, C. Wayne Howle of Hartsville; son and daughter-in-law, Charles Wayne "Chad" and Rovon Howle of Hartsville; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel LeGette and Gene Morton of Jacksonville, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law, James Timothy "Tim" and Melanie Skipper of Hartsville; sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Jim Kelley of Jacksonville, N.C.; grandson, Charles Wayne "Chason" Howle III; nieces and nephews, Olivia Ray Skipper, Joshua Kelley, Sarah Kelley, Ben Kelley.

BEULAH MULLIS
Funeral Services for Beulah Pylant Mullis, 86, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at Lakeview Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Don Purvis officiated with burial in Darlington Memory Gardens Cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mullis, widow of Thomas D. Mullis, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Luther Jackson and Elizabeth Floyd Pylant.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Earl W. and Susan Mullis of Hartsville; daughters and son-in-law, Mina M. Lofland of Clayton, Del., Erika M. and Gregory K. Weinacht of Ladson, S.C.; sister, Mae Dell Pylant Jernigan of Winter Park, Fla.; brother, Franklin E. Pylant of Statesboro, Ga.; grandchildren, Nancy Mullis Shepard of Hartsville, Michael E. Mullis of Leesville, S.C., William W. Mullis of Hartsville, Earl Robert Lofland of Clayton, Del., Malinda Donielle Weinacht of Goose Creek, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Cameron Shepard, Jason Shepard, Jessica Shepard, Lindsey Mullis, Timothy Mullis, Tyler Mullis, Ethan Mullis, all of Hartsville, and Dameon Weinacht of Goose Creek.

JAMES PARROTT
DARLINGTON – Funeral services for James Cecil "Bully" Parrott will be 3 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, in St. James United Methodist Church with the Rev. James E. Moore, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery, directed by Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home.
Mr. Parrott died on Monday, Jan. 14 at the home of his sister, Ms. Georgia M. James, after a long illness. He was born in Darlington, a son of the late Willie and Marie Mingo Parrott. He attended Darlington County schools and was a life member of St. James United Methodist Church. He lived most of his life in Darlington where he was employed by Bonnoitt's Feed and Seed until his health failed.
Survivors include four children, James Anthony Parrott of Columbia, Mrs. Tonya (Brian) Davis of Jacksonville, Fla., Calvin Bernard (Barbara) Parrott of Mt. Pleasant, and Ms. Rita Parrott of Gainsville, Fla.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Parrott and Thomas (Marcella) Parrott, both of New York City; three devoted sisters, Ms. Georgia M. James, Ms. Marie Ruth, Ms. Gertrude Rogers, all of Darlington; adopted sisters, Ms. Pearl Brewer of Hartsville, Ms. Aileen DeLoach and Ms. Ruth Johnson, both of Darlington; three aunts, Mrs. Emily Booker, Mrs. Gertrude Harold and Mrs. Alice L. Walker, all of Darlington; nieces and nephews.
The family is receiving friends at the home of his sister, 409 Syracuse St., Darlington.

HATTIE B. HENDRIX
DARLINGTON – Funeral services for Hattie B. Hendrix will be held at 1 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. D. L. Hughes, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Faith Memorial Gardens, directed by Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hendrix was born in Lexington, S.C., a daughter of the late Berley and Lina Hayes Johnson. She was the widow of George Hendrix. She was a loyal member of Macedonia Baptist Church for 64 years where she served in many capacities. She was predeceased by a son, George Hendrix.
Survivors include four grandchildren, Karen H. Nunley (Edgar), George B. Hendrix (Lynn), Glenn F. Hendrix and Susan M. Marshall; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

SALVATORE M. SORISI
Funeral Mass for Salvatore M. Sorisi, 90, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Karl Roesch, officiating. Burial will be in the Darlington Memory Gardens, directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Sorisi died Wednesday, Jan. 16. He was born in New York, N.Y., a son of the late James and Anna Gambino Sorisi. He was a retired baker, member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree.
Surviving are his wife, Florence Schmidt Sorisi of Bradenton, Fla.; a daughter, Andrea Spafford of Bradenton, Fla.; two brothers, Andrew Sorisi of Long Island, N.Y., and Joseph Sorisi of Florida; one sister, Evelyn Lambert of Arizona; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 363 N. 5th St., Hartsville, SC 29550.

DELORES K. JAMES
DARLINGTON – Funeral services for Delores Kennedy James, 50, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, in Christ Temple Holiness Church with Elder Wesley Belin, pastor, and Elder Kenneth Hicks officiating. Burial followed in Cooper Cemetery, directed by Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home in Darlington.
Ms. James died Tuesday, Jan. 15, at her residence after an illness. She was born in Darlington, a daughter of Martha Washington Kennedy and the late Sam Kennedy. She was the widow of Jesse James. She was educated in the Darlington County public schools and was employed at Oak Haven Nursing Home in Darlington for a number of years.
Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Martha Washington Kennedy Capers of Darlington; a son, Marvin (Giovonnia) Kennedy of Darlington; three grandchildren, Alexis Miles, Wynter and Shoquelle Kennedy; two step-daughters, Angela Johnson and Trina Dickie; one step-son, Cameron (Velendra) Gregg, all of Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers, Sam (Hannah) Kennedy and Robert (Shelia) Kennedy, both of Florence, and Nathaniel (Lorraine) Kennedy of Darlington; two sisters, Ms. Barbara (Religh) Brown of Florence, Ms. Rosa Lee (Harold) Dubose of Darlington; two step-sisters, Ms. Shirley Capers and Mrs. Charlie Mae Capers, both of Darlington; a step-brother, Thomas Capers of Alabama; a special niece, Diane (Robert) Singleton of Darlington.
A son, Christopher Kennedy, preceded her in death.

GERALD W. LINTON
Funeral services for Gerald Wayne Linton, 44, will be held at 4 p.m. today, Jan. 23, 2002, at the Wilkes Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Ronnie Caulder and Edwin Luther officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville Chapel.
Mr. Linton was born in Chesterfield County, a son of Iona Mae Linton and the late George Linton. He was a graduate of Davidson County Community College. He served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his mother of Hartsville; three sisters, Billie (Afton) Amerson of Kannapolis, N.C., Helen (Johnny) Pitman and Charlotte LInton, both of High Point, N.C.; three brothers, David (Lohoma) Linton of Thomasville, N.C., George (Tammy) Linton and Luther (Billie) Linton, both of Kannapolis, N.C., and several nieces and nephews.
