Services for Madeline Watkins Mitchum, 70, will be held this morning at 11 a.m. July 24, 2000, at Union United Methodist Church with Rev. David Myers, officiating, Burial will be in the church Cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home. Mrs. Mitchum was born
in Chesterfield County, the daughter of the late Henry and Stella Mae Sowell Watkins. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church and was a retired nurse. Surviving are three sons and daughter-in-laws, Bill (Jenny) Waktins and Harvey T. (Linda) Watkins, both of McBee and Lynn Watkins of Camden; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, K. S. Mitchum; one daughter, Madeline H. Blackwell; one grandson, Glenn Blackwell and one sister, Margie Hilton. LILLIAN W. WARREN
Mrs. Lillian W. Warren, 91, of Darlington, died on Wednesday, July 19, 2000, in a local nursing home after an illness. Services were held on Friday, July 21, 2000, at 4 p.m. in the Clyde Church of God at Pineridge. Burial followed in the Clyde Church of God Cemetery, directed by Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home. Mrs. Warren was born
in Society Hill and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Dora Weatherford Wallace. She was a member of the Clyde Church of God. Mrs. Warren was predeceased by two sons, Richard and James Tadlock; four sisters, Ola Mixon, Leila Ezzell, Pearl Atkinson, Edith Wells; and two brothers, Charlie Wallace and Brooks Wallace. Survivors include one daughter, Jeanette (Andy) Crimminger of Florence; three sisters, Ethel Tadlock of Darlington, Vermelle Gainey and Annie Stephens both of Hartsville; 15 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. MARGARET F. HIRST
Margaret Fagan Hirst of Norfolk, Va., died on Thursday, July 20, 2000. She was a native of Hartsville. She was born
on March 27, 1923, in Hamlet, N.C., to the late James Vernon Fagan and Emma Bethune Fagan. She attended Winthrop College and graduated from Coker College. During W.W. II she served in the Marine Corps in San Francisco where she attained the rank of sergeant. It was there she met her husband, Julian F. Hirst. They were married
on May 11, 1946, in Hartsville, after which they lived in Virginia. Survivors in addition to her husband, she is survived by a brother, Richard M. Fagan of Hartsville; three children, J. Terry Hirst of New York City, David Townshend Hirst of Virginia Beach, Va., and Jane Hirst Green of Altavista, Va.; and three grandchildren, Townshend Fagan Hirst, Emma Elizabeth Green, and Margaret Addison Green. She was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Fagan Hirst. In lieu of flowers, the family request that gifts be sent to the Margaret Fagan Hirst Fund at the Blue Ridge Regional Library, P.O. Box 5269, Martinsville, Va. 24115. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning in Magnolia Cemetery in Hartsville, directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.

Services for Keith Mullis, 33, were held at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2000, at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley Dickerson officiating with burial in Westview Memorial Park. Mr. Mullis died Monday, July 24. Born in Hartsville, he was a son of Faye Knight Mullis and the late Max M. Mullis. Surviving are his daughter, Candace Brooks Mullis of Hartsville; his mother of Hartsville; two sisters, Linda Faye Mullis, and Maxine (Paul) Johnson; niece and her husband, Tina (Lee) Newsome also of Hartsville.

Services for Dewey O誰eal, 63, were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2000 at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Carroll Hall, Robert Barr and Milton Bradshaw, officiating. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery. Mr. O誰eal died Monday, July 24. Born in Darlington County, he was a son of the late Leslie W. and Blanche Vivian Johnson O誰eal. He was retired as a self-employed electrician. Surviving are two sons, Larry (Danette) O誰eal and Jerry O誰eal, both of Hartsville; three brothers, Alfred O誰eal and Cecil O誰eal, of Hartsville and Leslie O誰eal of Rock Hill; three sisters, Eloise Eden of Charleston, Juanita McElveen and Frances Barker, both of Hartsville; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services for Sarah Howle Lafferty, 90, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2000, in Magnolia Cemetery, with Rev. Lafferty, died Tuesday, July 25. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late James Wiley and Daisy Morris Howle. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and a retired farmer. Graveside services for Earl T. Leindecker, 70, of Columbus, Ga., will be held today, July 28, 2000, at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. David Myers and Rev. Charlie Short, officiating, directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville. Mr. Leindecker was born
in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of the late John E. and Elizabeth Easton Leindecker. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring from the Army with more than 20 years of services. He retired from the Muscogee County School system after more than 20 years, where he was an elementary school teacher. He was a member of Union United Methodist Church. Survivors are his wife, Sybil King Leindecker of Columbus, Ga. formerly of McBee; one brother, Richard E. King of McBee; one brother-in-law, Richard E. King of McBee; two sisters, Bernice L. Speer of Orlando, Fla. and Mary Jane Bradt of Zelienople, Pa. and one brother, John T. Leindecker of Calif.

Services for Hugh B. Plyler, 80, of Darlington, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2000, in Indian Branch United Methodist Church. Burial followed in White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, between Jefferson and Pageland, directed by Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home. Mr. Plyler was born
in Chesterfield County, a son of the late George William and Frances Irene "Renia" Ogburn Plyler. He was a member of Indian Branch United Methodist Church and the men痴 Sunday School class. Mr. Plyler was retired from Sonoco after 41 years and was a member of the Sonoco Old Timers Club. Survivors include his wife, Ruby D. Plyler of the home; a son, Jerry W. (Debbie) Plyler of Hartsville; one step-son, Ken (Barbara) Suggs of Darlington; one daughter, Shelby Jean (Walter) Hartis of Hartsville; two step-daughters, Bobbie (Billy) James of Columbia and Bonnie (Glenn) Best of Sumter; one sister, Mable (Alton) McCaskill of Bethune; 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was a member of New Hopewell Baptist Church, president of the senior Usher Board and retired Ansonia American Brass of Ansonia, Conn. Surviving are a daughter, Lynda (Ronald) Sutton of Norwich, Conn.; a brother, Franklin Brown of Ansonia, Conn.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was retired from Klopman of Society Hill. Surviving are her husband, Lewis R. Howle of Hartsville; two sons, Dewane (Hope) Howle, Rusty (Melissa) Howle, all of Hartsville; sisters, Cynthlu "Cindy" Harrelson and Johnnie Mae Holloman, both of Pontiac, S.C.; three granddaughters, Jessica Howle, Katie Huggins, and Rebecca Howle. She was predeceased by a son, Michael Howle.
