Graveside services for Carrie Tolson Huskey, 93, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, in Magnolia Cemetery with Bishop Cliff Barfield officiating and directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Mrs. Huskey, widow of Dewey Huskey, died Sunday, Feb. 4. Born in Chesterfield County, she was a daughter of the late John Delesly and Carolina Brown Tolson. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Relief Society. She was retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company.
Surviving are her brothers, L. Hart Tolson of Baltimore, Md., Edward V. Tolson of Charlotte, N.C., and nieces and nephews
NOEL AUSTIN
Services for Noel Holly Austin, 17, were held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, at the Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Alvin Rogers and Jerry Lee Dixon officiated with burial in Westview Memorial Park Cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.
Ms. Austin died Sunday, Feb. 4. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of Elisa Dolores Austin. She was a student at Hartsville High School.
Surviving are her mother of Hartsville; step-father, Harvey Lee Dixon of Hartsville; step-brother, Harvey Lee Dixon III of Hartsville; step-sisters, Renay Walker, Gerry Lynn Dixon, Alaina Dixon, all of Hartsville; maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Donna and Steve D. Majors of Bethune; maternal great-grandmother, Bertha Reyes of Bethune; uncles, Rusty Wiggly and Kenneth Wayne Baker, both of Kershaw, Alan Austin of Georgia and Kevin Austin; aunts, Wanda D. Long of Plant City, Fla., and Cathy Baker of Monroe, N.C.
MYRTLE K. BONNOITT
DARLINGTON – Graveside services for Myrtle K. Bonnoitt, 92, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 7, 2001, at Grove Hill Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bonnoitt died Sunday, Feb. 4, in a local nursing home after an illness. She was the wife of the late Frank Lee Bonnoitt. She was born
in Lexington County, the daughter of the late John Jerome and Cardonia Shealy Kyzer. She was a secretary for McLeod's Annex and Coleman-Aimar Hospital for many years. Mrs. Bonnoitt was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, John M. Bonnoitt and Jerome A. Bonnoitt, both of Darlington; a daughter, Jenny Price of Fairport, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Alexander S. Kyzer of Cayce; and two sisters, Annie Wilson of Orangeburg and Beulah Bonnoitt of Darlington.
STELLA E. COOPER
DARLINGTON – Services for Stella Elizabeth Carroway Cooper, 61, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, in Savannah Grove AME Church in Lamar with the Rev. J. E. Dukes, pastor. Burial followed in St. John United Methodist Church Cemetery in Oates directed by Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home of Darlington.
Ms. Cooper died Sunday, Jan. 28, from injuries received in an automobile accident. She was born
in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Henry and Gertrude Holloman Carroway and was reared by her maternal grandmother, the late Gertrude Holloman.
She attended Darlington County public schools and graduated from Mayo High School Class of Ô67. She continued her education at Florence-Darlington Technical College. She joined Savannah Grove AME Church. She spent most of her life in Darlington and Florence counties where she worked various jobs and was presently employed by Mental Retardation of Florence as a mental retardation specialist.
Survivors include two sons, Steven Cooper Sr. of Florence and Marshall (Lisa) Cooper of Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers, Randy Snell of Florence and Victor Carroway of Fayetteville, N.C.; five sisters, Shelia Kennedy of Florence, Melissia Green of Charlotte, N.C., Angela Vanhook, Velvalla Rushing and Walinda Pettiford, all of Hillsborough, N.C.; four grandchildren, Latosha, Kiara, Kanessa and Steven Jr.; uncles; aunts; and sisters- and brothers-in-law.
MARGUERITE H. SMITH
CHERAW – Services for Marguerite Hammond Smith, 81, were held at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at Bethesda United Methodist Church with interment in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens directed by Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield.
Mrs. Smith died Saturday, Feb. 3. She was born
in Hartsville, a daughter of the late Walter S. and Sarah Katherine Kirkley Hammond. She was a retired employee of Hartsville Cotton Mill and was married
to the late Jerry M. Smith. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her son, James W. Smith, and her daughter Jerrie Jodine Pressley.
Survivors include a brother, James Hammond of Hartsville; one sister, Vera Fraizer of Camden; daughter-in-law; Hazel A. Smith of the home; also nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Ilean Sparks Ings, 89, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, in St. Paul Community Church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Young & Young Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ings died Friday, Feb. 2, in Morrell Memorial Convalescent Center after an illness. She was born
in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Lee and Dennie Kelley Sparks. She received her education in the public schools of Darlington County. She was a member of St.
Paul Community Church, Missionary Society, Senior Choir and the Order of Eastern Star and retired from Coker's Department Store.
Surviving are her husband, David Ings of Hartsville; three sisters, Louise Rogers of Queens, N.Y., Rosa Mae Ownes of Baltimore, Md., and Alize Lee Sparks of Philadelphia, Pa.; two brothers, Clarence (Annie Lee) Ings and Rogie (Maggie) Ings, both of Society Hill; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Lewis of Hartsville and Lillian Scott of Lamar; a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
