VIVIAN WALLACE
Services for Vivian Elizabeth Wallace, 91, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Bob Cline will officiate with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Bennettsville, directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday after the service in the church parlor. Memorials may be made to the Hartsville Pilot Club or First Baptist Church.
Ms. Wallace died Wednesday, Feb. 7. Born in the Hart House in Kalmia Gardens, she was a daughter of the late James Percy and Lillie Allen Wallace. She was a life long member of First Baptist Church and was retired from the Hartsville Water Department and Peoples Natural Gas. She was also a member of the DAR and a charter member of the Hartsville Pilot Club.
Surviving are her cousins, Elsie Allen Byrd and David L. Allen Sr., both of Hartsville, Lutie Allen Gibbes of Bennettsville, Jane Allen Graham of Hamlet, N.C., and Fletcher Allen of Franklin, Tenn.
ANDREW SIMMONS
Services for Andrew Simmons, 90, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, in Kingsville United Methodist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Young & Young Funeral Home.
Mrs. Simmons died Monday. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Lou James Manning. She received her education in Darlington County public schools. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Helping Hand Club and the May Coker Garden Club.
Surviving are three nieces, Jessie L. Jones and Veronica L. Whiten, both of Philadelphia, Pa., and Cindy G. Howard of Highland Springs, Va.; a nephew, Robert L. Manning of Dresher, Pa.; an aunt, Lena Manning of Hartsville; a God daughter, Sonia J. Bacote of Florence; a host of great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

Services for Andrew Nelson, 71, will be held at 3 p.m. today, Feb. 9, 2001, in Shady Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pines Forest Memorial Cemetery, directed by Young & Young Funeral Home.
Mr. Nelson died Tuesday, Feb. 6, in Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center after an illness. He was born
in Chesterfield County, a son of the late Jack and Emma Murphy. He received his education in Chesterfield County public schools and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Annie Lee Horton of McBee and Carrie Williams of New Rochelle, N.Y.; and an aunt, Maybelle Murphy of Fayetteville, N.C.

Mrs. Lashley, widow of Thomas DeWitt Lashley, died Feb. 13. She was born
in Alamance County, N.C., daughter of the late Guthrie and Rosenia Wilson Murray. She was a Charter member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Carol Lashley Lynn of Hartsville; a sister, Mrs. Foy Maness of Haw River, N.C.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. McCaskill died Feb. 14. He was born
in Kershaw County, a son of the late James Talley and Lizzie Ratcliffe McCaskill. He was retired from Sonoco Products Co., a member of Bethune Baptist Church, member of the Lynchwood Masonic Lodge No. 197 in Bethune and a Shriner.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mabel Plyler McCaskill of Bethune; a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Kennington of Cassatt; a sister, Ms. Mildred McCaskill of Bethune; two grandchildren, Chris Kennington of Hartsville and Renee Blackwell of Camden; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

JEFFERSON – Services for Virginia Lockhart, 57, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, in Hopewell United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Young & Young Funeral Home. Mrs. Lockhart died Sunday, Feb. 11, in a Charlotte, N.C., hospital after an illness. She was born
in Chesterfield County, a daughter of the late Emsley and Willie Joe Thompson. She attended the public schools in the area and was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. Over the years, she held numerous positions in various auxiliaries.
Surviving are a daughter, Nellie Taylor of Jefferson; a son, Stanley Seegars of Jefferson; three sisters, Frankie Tyson of Washington, D.C., Cynthia Blackwell and Shirley Chambers, both of Jefferson; two brothers, Emsley Lockhart of Jefferson and Richard Lockhart of Pageland; and three grandchildren.

in Darlington County, a son of the late Allen L. and Kathleen Robinson Joyner. He was a graduate of Rosenwald High School, a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and served in the United States Marine Corp.
Surviving are two daughters, Samanetha Burnson and Syenithea Joyner, both of Society Hill; five sons, Curtis Scott Sr. and Steve Joyner, both of Hartsville, Anthony L. Services for Leda Bell Allen will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at Mt. Calvary AME Church, the Rev. Willie Graves, pastor. Burial will take place in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with professional services entrusted with Hines Funeral Home.
Mrs. Allen was born
in the Pond Hollow Community of Darlington County, a daughter of the late James and Laura Wilkins. She was educated in the public schools and at an early age, met and married
the late Johnnie Allen Sr. This union was blessed with seven children, six of whom survive her. She was raised in a Christian home and continued to cherish and love the Lord in her daily activities and most especially in the Christian duty at her beloved church, Mt. Calvary AME Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Manola (Arthur) Benjamin of Lancaster and Sandra (Perry) Larts of Hartsville; four sons, Michael (Ettaphine) Allen of Florence, Danny Lee (Annie) Allen and Johnnie (Geraldine) Allen Jr., both of Hartsville, and Howard (Cathy) Allen of Norfolk, Va.; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
