CLARA WATERS
Services for Clara Johnson Waters, 77, were held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2001, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hamilton officiating. Burial was in Westview Memorial Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Waters died Saturday, June 9. She was born
in Chesterfield County, the daughter of the late Raymond A. & Mary Parnell Johnson. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, the Fellowship Christian Sunday School Class for many years before recently moving to the Pastor's Class. She was retired from Hartsville Manufacturing.
Surviving are three daughters, Donna Tolson and Betty Byrd, both of Hartsville, and Vickie Dampier of Columbia; one son, Johnnie Jenkins of Charlotte, N.C.; four sisters, Catherine Sparrow and Bronia Dell Johnson, both of Hartsville, Elaine Catoe of Jefferson and Grace Dryden of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Mendel Johnson of Jefferson; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Waters, a son, Dwayne Waters and one granddaughter, Allison Tolson.

BRYSON WRIGHT
McBEE - Services for Bryson Wright, 19, were held at 4 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2001, at The Living Church in the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith with Bishop Bennie James officiating. Burial was in Pines Forest Memorial Cemetery directed by Young & Young Funeral Home.
Mr. Wright died Thursday, June 7. He was born
March 1, 1982, in Chesterfield County, a son of Margaret Wright and Tracy Little. He was a graduate of McBee High School Class of 2001 and attended The Living Church in the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith.
Surviving other than his mother and father of McBee are two brothers, Darick Wright and Antwaun Wright both of McBee; his maternal grandparents, Albert and Mary Wright of McBee; his paternal grandparents, Walter Leach of McBee and Pauline Little of Bethune; two aunts, Carol Wright and Keesha McDouglas of McBee; 10 uncles and other close relatives and friends.
FRANCES R. McCORKLE
FLORENCE - Services for Frances Robertson McCorkle, 84 of the Methodist Manor of the Pee Dee, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2001, at Darlington Presbyterian Church. Interment followed at 11 a.m. Monday, June 11, in Rose Hill Cemetery, in York, S.C., directed by Belk Funeral Home of Darlington.
Mrs. McCorkle, wife of N. Craig McCorkle Jr., died Friday, June 8, in a local hospital after an illness. She was born
in Easley, the daughter of the late George Marvin and Jessie Thompson Robertson. She graduated from Winthrop College and joined the faculty at Parker District School in Greenville. She was a longtime resident of Charlotte and later moved to Florence with her husband. She was a member of Avondale Presbyterian Church in Charlotte where she was active in the children's department for a number of years, and she currently attended Darlington Presbyterian Church. A longtime volunteer with the Presbyterian Hospital Auxiliary, she was approved and appointed to the Board of the Presbyterian Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home is a daughter, Donna Kay McCorkle Vaughan of Darling-ton, and several nieces and nephews.

JOYCE Y. KIRVEN
DARLINGTON - Services for Emma Joyce Yarborough Kirven, 57, will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2001, in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends tonight, Wednesday, from 7 to 9. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kirven died Tuesday, June 12, at her residence after an illness. She was the wife of Robert Leon "R.L." Kirven and was born
in Darlington County, the daughter of the late John David and Thelma Lee Self Yarborough. She was employed as a machinist for General Electric.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are three sons, Michael Ray (Tammy) Yarborough of Darlington, Steven Martin Crews of Florida, and Chad Lee Crews of Darlington; two step-children, Kim (Danny) McInville and Robbie (Sherry) Kirven, both of Darlington; and six grandchildren, Emily and Danielle Yarborough, Gretchen and Lindsey McInville and Kirista and Robin Kiren.
Mrs. Kirven was preceded in death by a brother, Everette Lynwood Dunn.

CAROLYN RHODES
BISHOPVILLE– Graveside services for Carolyn Blake Flowers Rhodes, 72, who died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Hebron Methodist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. The Rev. Stewart Kidd will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rhodes was born
in Lee County, a daughter of the late Walter P. and Carolyn Blake Flowers. She was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church and was retired from McLeod Pharmacy.
Surviving are, daughters, Trisha Johnson of Bishopville, Sandy Rhodes of Columbia and Peggy Hart of Rock Hill; sons, Bill and Keith Rhodes, both of Bishopville; sister, Margaret Stokes of Bishopville; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
MARGARET G. HALL
Services for Mrs. Margaret Gainey Hall, 83, who died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Beck will officiate. Burial will be in Gainey Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hall was born
in Chesterfield County, the daughter of the late Doris and Hannah Gainey.
Surviving are three sons, Jimmie Hall, Randy C. Hall, and Clyde Hall; three daughters, Evelyn Simmons, Delores Hill and Deleane Ray; one brother, J.L. Gainey, one sister, Hazel Barefoot; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
RICHARD W. BACOT
LAMAR – Services for Richard W. Bacot were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2001, in the Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home Chapel in Lamar. Private interment services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Bacot was received up into Glory on Wednesday, May 23. He was born
in Newport News, Va., on March 30, 1921, and was raised in Lamar by his mother, the late Ruby Thelma Boykin and his step-father, the late Dr. T. J. Boykin. He served in the Pacific Theater during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He married
Judith M. Barrera, who died in 1994, in the Republic of Panama, where he worked for 36 years for the U.S. Army.
Surviving are four daughters, Ruby T. (Matthew) Murray of North Carolina, Adela J. (Richard) McBride of Lamar, Sela C. (Richard C.) Marques and Rina C. (Silvio) Acosta, both of California; three sons, Ray E. (Cherryl) Bacot, Richard W. (Barbara) Bacot and Robert J. (Lupe) Bacot, all of Florida; 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

MASTER CHAD DuBOSE
Services for Master Chad Edwin Dubose were held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2001, at Nazareth Apostolic Church with Bishop Vera Davis, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with professional services entrusted with Hines Funeral Home.
Master Chad was born
on Jan. 12, 1994, one of triplets, a son of Charles and Sharon Bacote Dubose.
Surviving other than his parents of the home are one brother, Charles Dubose Jr.; one sister, Chassidy Dubose; maternal grandmother, Sarah Bacote; paternal grandmother, Trubby Dubose; paternal grandfather, James Lee (Ruth) Dubose; two great-grandmothers, Henny Brown and Hallie Goodson.
RUSSELL CAGLE
SHELBY, N.C. – Services for Russell C. (Porky) Cagle, 26, will be held at 4 p.m. today, May 30, 2001, at the chapel of Norton Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Melton officiating. Burial will be in the Black Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Cagle died Friday, May 26. Born in Gaston County, N.C., he was a son of William Wesley Cagle Jr. and Joyce Faile Cagle. He was employed with Cunningham Brick Co.
Surviving are his parents of Hartsville; two brothers, David Cagle of Hartsville and Jeff (Dice) Cagle of Mt. Holly, N.C.; two sisters, Susan (Roger) Walters of Belmont, N.C., and Lisa (Ronald) Soles of Hartsville; maternal grandfather, Russell Faile of Alexis, N.C.; his fiance, Andrea Carpenter of Shelby, N.C.; her children, Carey, Crystal, Michael and Cynthia Carpenter and Marie Hodge, all of Shelby, N.C.; nephews, Rogers Walters Jr., David C. Cagle, Joseph Walters, Dempsey Soles; three nieces, Krystal Walters, Cassie Cagle and Chassidy Soles; and special friend, Chris Jones.

DARLINGTON – Services for Macie Sims Witherspoon, 69, were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2001, in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home with interment following in Grove Hill Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Mrs. Witherspoon, widow of Orin L. Andrews and Hubert H. Witherspoon, died Sunday, May 27, in a Florence hospital. She was born
in Lancaster County, daughter of the late Pressley V. and Wilma Rhodes Sims. She was bookkeeper of Burch, Oxner and Seale accounting firm. She was a member of First Original Free Will Baptist Church, the Keenager Group and the Ladies Sunday School Class.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-laws, Michael V. (Karen) and Terry L. (Carolyn) Andrews Sr., both of Darlington; three grandchildren, Terry L. (Keisha) Andrews Jr., Mrs. Clark (Cellina Andrews) Epps and Ryan Michael Andrews; one great-granddaughter, Gracie Diane Epps; four brothers, Ed (Leola) Sims of Hartsville, Fred (Mollie) Sims of Virginia, W. J. (Marilyn) Sims and James (Sheila) Sims, both of Darlington; three sisters, Mrs. Bill (Lillian) S. Williams, Mrs. Margaret S. Koon and Mrs. Henry (Vera) S. Strickland, all of Darlington.
Mrs. Witherspoon was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Diane Andrews, three sisters, Nell S. Young, Sarah S. Poe and Mary S. Bailey.
