TED MELTON
DARLINGTON - Graveside services for Ted Melton, 57, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 15, 2000, in Grove Hill Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Mr. Melton died Monday, Nov. 13, in a Charleston hospital after an illness. He was born
in Baltimore, Md., the son of the late Walter Ralph and Elizabeth Ham Melton. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 13 years during the Vietnam War. Mr. Melton lived in Alaska for 25 years as a wildlife artist. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his step-mother, Elizabeth Hill Melton of Darlington, a sister, Joanne Melton Graves of Darlington; a step-sister, Alberta O'Neal, of Darlington; two step-brothers, Daniel Enzor of Memphis, Tenn., and Earl Enzor of Raleigh, N.C.
REGENIA M. GARDNER
KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - Services for Regenia Meadows Gardner, 98, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at Shadybrook Baptist Church in Kannapolis, N.C., with the Rev. Charlie Littlejohn, the Rev. David Troutman and Byrch L. Griffin officiating. Graveside service will be at 4 p.m. in Magnolia Cemetery in Hartsville. The family will receive friends at Whtiley's Funeral Home tonight, Nov. 15, from 6:30 to 8:30. Memorials may be made to Shadybrook Baptist Church, 1009 Oakwood Ave., Kannapolis, N.C.
Mrs. Gardner died Monday, Nov. 13, at Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis, N.C., after declining health for five years. She was born
Oct. 8, 1902, in Jones County, N.C. and was the daughter of the late Isaac B. and Jennie Collins Meadows. In earlier years, she was principal of a two-room school in Hartsville, where she served several years. Later, she moved to Kannapolis in 1953 where she worked for Kannapolis City schools as a first-grade teacher at Shadybrook Elementary School for 20 years. She was bestowed the First Teacher of the Year Award in the school system. Mrs. Gardner was a long-time member of Shadybrook Baptist Church, Kannapolis, N.C., where she taught Sunday School for 30 years and many seminars. She and her husband, the Rev. R. F. Gardner, helped organize Lane Street Baptist Church in Kannapolis.
Survivors include two sons, Roy L. (Carolyn James) Griffin of Kannapolis, and Donald R. Griffin of Denton, N.C.; four grandchildren, Donna Griffin of Richmond, Va., Byrch (Patricia) Griffin of Jacksonville, N.C., Ginger (Roger) Scott and Edwin (Angie) Griffin, both of Kannapolis, N.C.; four great-grandchildren, Leah Griffin, Graham Griffin, Blake Scott and Daire Scott. She was preceded in death by her first husband, the Rev. Roy A. Griffin, her second husband, the Rev. Byrch Kelley and her third husband, the Rev. R. F. Gardner.
VERNON B. PERRY
Services for Vernon B. Perry, 80, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at Elim United Methodist Church with the Revs. Pat McCain and Thomas Crouch officiating. Mr. Perry, husband of Madge Raines Perry, died Friday, Nov. 10. Born in Winnigham, Va., he was a son of the late Harris Robert and Lientora Batchelor Perry. He was a member of Elim United Methodist Church. He retired from Perfection Gear and Farming and was a veteran of W.W. II.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, son and daughter-in-law, H. Clifton and Rebecca Perry of Florence; daughter and son-in-law, Verna and Jimmy Freeman of Lamar; a brother, Robert Perry of Zebulon, N.C., and three grandchildren, Ryan Freeman of Lamar, Collin Perry and Gariette Perry, both of Florence.

Services for Tony Alexander Davis Jr. Couplin, 12, were held at 12 noon Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, in the Harold L. & Dorothy J. Young Memorial Chapel with burial in Darlington Memory Gardens directed by Young & Young Funeral Home.
Tony was born
in Baltimore, Md., a son of Tony Alexander Davis Sr. and Denise Couplin. He was a student of Darlington Junior High School. He enjoyed football, soccer, singing, rapping and making beats. He enjoyed bike riding and joking around with friends and family. He played football for the Bandits Football team.
Surviving other than father of Norfolk, Va., and his mother of Hartsville, are two sisters, Tonay Shanika Davis Couplin and Jermika LaTasha Couplin, both of Hartsville; brothers, Maurice Cleveland Royster Couplin, Clarence Joseph Buckner Couplin, and Byron Anthony Edwards Jr. Couplin, all of Hartsville; maternal grandparents, Ella Couplin of Baltimore, Md., and Larry Couplin of Darlington; paternal grandparents; step-grand mother, Gracie Couplin of Darlington; three aunts, Sharice Nicole Couplin of Baltimore, Md., Angela Davis and Danielle Davis, both of Norfolk, Va.; an uncle, Allen Clinton Couplin of Baltimore, Md.

Surviving are his wife, Elma Winburn Cranford of Hartsville; son and his fiancee, Eddie Cranford and Kim Rouse, both of Hartsville; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Brad Outlaw of Hartsville; brothers, Harold Cranford of Hartsville, Gary Cranford of Patrick, and Lowrene Cranford of Cheraw; sister, Ruth C. Beulah United Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Young & Young Funeral Home. Mr. Reddick died Wednesday, April 19, in Palmetto-Richland Memorial Hospital after an illness. He was born
in Lee County, a son of the late Ervin and Rose Lee Cooley Reddick. He was educated in Lee County public schools. He was first a member of Mt. Beulah United Methodist Church and later joined the Pentecostal Assembly Holiness Church, where he was a deacon of the church. He was also an Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Irene Bryant Reddick of Bishopville; five daughters, Lottie Benjamin of Linden, N.Y., Lyla (James) Mitchell, Minnie (Johnny) Outen, Linda Reddick and Barbara B. Graveside services for Margaret Douglass Boseman, 84, of Bonneau, formerly of Darlington, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Swift Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home of Darlington. Mrs. Boseman died Monday, April 24, in Trident Medical Center in Charleston. She was born
in Chesterfield and was the daughter of the late William A. and Catherine Sowell Douglass. She was a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church for many years and later was a member of Dorchester Waylyn Baptist Church in North Charleston. She was a member of VFW. Mrs. Boseman was a homemaker all of her life, and she loved her home and especially enjoyed cooking. She was predeceased by her husband, James Carroll Boseman, in 1968; a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Boseman Loser in 1970; and a son, Bryant "Dusty" Boseman in 1997. Survivors include two sons, James Michael (Sharon) Boseman of San Antonio, Texas and Douglass Carroll Boseman of Fallon, Nevada; one daughter, Rose Boseman Scott of Bonneau; one sister, Mrs. Elva Douglass Boseman of Darlington; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Elva Boseman, 1808 Pinedale Drive, Darlington.

She was retired from Sonoco Products Company and was a member of the Old Timers Club. Surviving are her brothers, Edgar Sowell of Pine Ridge, Rev. Paul Sowell and Kenneth Sowell, both of McBee. She was predeceased by six brothers, Frank Sowell, Leonard Sowell, James Sowell, Robert Sowell, Purdy Sowell, Heyward Sowell and two sister, Martha Sowell and Clara Mae Cassidy.

May 4, 1938, in Marion County, a son of the late Hoyt Monroe Huggins and the late Lucille Turbeville Huggins. Mr. Huggins was a retired businessman and was a US Navy veteran and a graduate of Mullins High School. in Darlington County and was the daughter of the late William Jake and Mildred Iseman Odom. She was the widow of Glen Plummer. Mrs. Plummer was a member of the Lamar United Methodist Church and of the Bennie-Sue Sunday School class. She was an avid gardener and loved flowers. Survivors include four sons, Thomas (Catherine) Plummer of Florence, Curtis W. (Martha) Plummer of Anderson, Lyndal (Sallie) Plummer of Hartsville and Bobby R.
