ESTER M. WINDHAM
LAMAR - Services for Esther McManus Windham, 70, will be held at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 10, 2001, at Zion United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home, Lamar Chapel.
Mrs. Windham died Wednesday, Sept. 5, in a Florence hospital after an illness. She was the wife of the late David Windham and was born
in Sumter County, the daughter of the late Thomas Marion and Maggie Windham McManus. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, David Michael Windham of Summerville and Thomas Jack Windham of Hartsville; a daughter, Mrs. Gregg (Jane) Weaver of Lamar; 10 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Marion McManus Jr. of Lamar; and two sisters, Lettie Freeman of Florence and Jessie Lee Hancock of Lamar.
Mrs. Windham was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Meggs.

MARY P. REDDICK
BETHUNE - Services for Mary Phillips Reddick, 63, will be held at 4 p.m. today, Sept. 10, 2001, at Pentecostal Assembly Holiness Church in Lydia. Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Young & Young Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reddick died Sunday in Keshaw County Medical Center in Camden. She was born
in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Lorine and Margaret Muldrow Phillips. She received her education in Darlington County public schools and was a member of Pentecostal Assembly Holiness Church.
Surviving are her husband, Andrew Reddick Sr. of Bethune; three daughters, Chenese (Elder Carlos) Bracey of Cassett, Angela (Tyrone) Pearson of Bethune and Marlene Reddick of Camden; a son, Andrew Reddick Jr. of Bethune; five sisters, Bertie (John) Hough and Susan Phillips, both of Queens, N.Y. Elder Shelby (William) Little of Paterson, N.J., Elder Rebecca Phillips of Hartsville and Regina Toney of Bloomfield, N.J.; a brother, Frey Myers of McBee and grandchildren.
SALLIE E. GALLOWAY
Funeral services for Sallie Ellis Galloway, 71, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at North Hartsville Baptist Church. The Rev. Ladell Humphries and the Rev. Dr. Richard Bailey will officiate with burial in New Providence Cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends today from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the North Hartsville Baptist Church Piano Fund.
Mrs. Galloway died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001. Born in Hartsville, she was a daughter of the late John Leroy and Anna O’Donald Ellis. She was a member of North Hartsville Baptist Church and was a member of the choir.
Surviving are her husband, Allen Galloway of Hartsville; son, Roy Johnson of Hartsville; step-daughters, Sharon Williams of Pensacola, Fla., Carla Smith of Spring, Texas; grandchildren, Lisa Johnson of Hartsville, Kelli Johnson of Harts-ville; and great-grandchild, Madison Tucker. She was predeceased by her first husband, Melvin Johnson.
LOU DORIS STEWART
Funeral services for Lou Doris Johnson Stewart, 77, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at Prospect United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bud Boatwright will officiate with burial in the church cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stewart died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Harley T. and Bertha Griggs Johnson. She was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church and was retired from Lipton Tea Co. after 32 years of service.
Surviving are her husband, Jesse Stewart of Galveston, Texas; brothers, Jenkins Johnson of Selma, Ala., and Jack Johnson of Murreta, Calif.

Graveside services for Margaret Keith Carter, 86, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, at Magnolia Cemetery. The Rev. Carroll Pope officiated and Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home was in charge.
Mrs. Carter, widow of Clyde Carter Sr., died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001. Born in Hartsville, she was a daughter of the late Luther Yates Keith. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Clyde and Patricia Carter Jr. of Hartsville; daughter and son-in-law, Judi Carter-Coker and William Coker of St. Thomas, U.S.Virgin Islands.; brother, J. D. Keith of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Mazzalee Large of Hartsville; grandchildren, Todd Carter, Eric Carter, Joseph Moses; and great-grandchild, Ryan Carter.

Funeral services for Dorothy Harrell James, 78, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, at the Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Mrs. James died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Sam Andrew and Hattie Hatchell Harrell. She was a member of Soul's Harbor Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Lola James of Hartsville; daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Don Amerson of Oates, Delores Ann and James Jackson of Hartsville; brother, Dan Harrell of Florence; sisters, Ann Morris of Society Hill, Betty Smith of Florence; grandchildren, Marie Lynch, Todd Amerson, Mike Amerson, Wayne James Jr., Waynette Oates; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Charles P. James Jr.
DELORIES C. MARKS
FORT MILL – Memorial services for Delories Curtis Marks, 65, will be held at 11 a.m Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, at Wolfe Funeral Home Chapel of Fort Mill with burial in Unity Cemetery.
Mrs. Marks died Monday, Sept. 10, at her home. Born on Oct. 6, 1935, in Chesterfield, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Curtis and Bessie Vaughn Curtis. She was the widow of John Horace Marks. Mrs. Marks was a homemaker and was a member of Fort Mill Church of God.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen Marks and Scott Marks, both of Fort Mill; her daughter, Sandra Marks Ingham of Fort Mill; two sisters, Alice Shaw of Chesterfield and Vonnie Easterling of Hartsville; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, John, Hillary, David, Holly, Harrison and Holden.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight, Sept. 12, at Wolfe Funeral Home of Fort Mill.
VESTA DAVIS
SOCIETY HILL – Graveside services for Vesta Weldon Davis, 84, were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, in Darlington Memory Gardens directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Mrs. Davis died Thursday, Sept. 6, in a Hartsville hospital. He was born
in Lowndes County, Ga., daughter of the late Mack and Bevrania Mathis Weldon. She was in the hotel food service industry for many years and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are two sons, Charles (Betsy) W. Davis of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mack (Donna) Davis of Society Hill; and two grandchildren.
L. B. BOAN

Mr. Boan died Saturday, Sept. 8. He was born
in Chesterfield County, a son of the late Luther B. and Maybelle Turnage Boan. He was a retired insurance broker and co-founder of Consumer Insurance Associates in Columbia. Mr. Boan was a faithful member and Deacon of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a U .S. Navy Veteran of WW II. Mr. Boan was preceded in death by a brother, Otis Boan, and by a sister, Vera Mixon.
Survivors include his wife, Millie Brigman Boan of the home; one daughter, Linda Sellers of Myrtle Beach; three sons, Ted Boan and wife Chelle, of Manning, Tim Boan and wife Linda, of Lexington, Tom Boan and wife Margaret, of Florence; one sister, Eleanor B. Wallace of Hartsville; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
NANNIE NEWSOM
Services for Nannie Windham Newsom, 97, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at the Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Roger Hurd and John Helms officiated with burial in Union United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Union United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
Mrs. Newsom, widow of W. H. Newsom, died Thursday, Sept. 6. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Kim and Lelan Segars Windham. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church. She retired from Sonoco Products Co. and was a member of the Old Timers Club.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and Ernest Sullivan of Hartsville; granddaughters, Judy S. Thompson of Gainesville, Fla., Renee S. Snelgrove of Columbia; great-granddaughters, Lindsey Thompson, Lauren Thompson, Kari Morrison, Mary Catherine Morrison, all of Columbia; niece, Lessie White; and nephew, Marvin Windham.
