LAMAR – Services for Nell Kate Hendrix Amerson, 73, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at Lamar United Methodist Church. Interment for the family will follow in Lamar Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home, Lamar Chapel.
Mrs. Amerson, wife of Curtis D. Amerson, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, in a Charleston hospital after an illness. She was born
in Darlington County, the daughter of the late Edward and Elma Hudson Hendrix. She retired as a lab technician for DuPont. Mrs. Amerson was a member of Lamar United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class and Bessie Jeffords Circle of the church.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are two daughters, Linda Isgett of Lamar and Effie Amerson of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Curtis D. Amerson Jr. of Lamar; five granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Jackie McFarland of Fountain Inn; and three special nieces, Patsy Grooms of Alma, Ga., Frances Holloman of Darlington and Brenda Forkasdi of Lamar.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Services for Patricia Jordan Duchock, 46, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2000, at House of Prayer Holiness Church with Rev. Billy Melton officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Elon Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends tonight, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Duchock died Thursday, June 1. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of Mary Sue Fields Jordan Mozingo and the late Eldridge Jordan. She was a member of House of Prayer Holiness Church. Surviving are her husband, Paul M. Duchock; daughter, Brittany Nicole Lear, both of Hartsville; step-sons, Matthew Duchock, Jonathan Duchock, both of Jasper, Ala.; step-daughter, Jennifer Duchock of Jasper, Ala.; mother of Hartsville; brothers, Eldridge "Pete" Jordan of Hartsville, Howard "Bill" Jordan of Bishopville, Leroy Jordan of Camden, Joseph "Joe" Jordan of Hartsville, Kenneth L. Services for Jimmy Kelly, 62, were held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2000, at Gum Branch Baptist Church. The Rev. Cheves St., Florence, S.C. 29506. Mr. Kelly died on Tuesday, May 30, 2000. Born in Darlington County, he was a son of the late Paryno and Polly Dixon Kelly. He was a member of Gum Branch Baptist Church, Patesville Masonic Lodge #295, Omar Shrine and VFW. He was retired from Nucor Steel with 23 years of service and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Northcutt Kelly of Hartsville; daughters and son-in-law, Windy and Michael Satterwhite of Camden, Cindy Gardner of Hartsville; brother, Richard Kelly of Darlington; sisters, Mary Culpepper of Florence, and Nell Davis and Grace Webb, both of Morehead City, N.C.; and grandsons, James Satterwhite and Dylan Gardner. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Kelly; and a sister, Vera Mae Gainey.

He was a member of the Hartsville Church of God, was retired from Sonoco Products Company with 44 years of service, and was a member of the Old Timers Club. Surviving are two sons, Kenny (Mary Ann) Bradshaw and John (Freda) Bradshaw, both of Hartsville; three daughters, Brenda (J.C.) Wallace of Hartsville and Mildred (Jackie) Rogers of Florence and Dorothy Williams of Falls Church, Va.; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Bradshaw. WREN B. on Oct. 9, 1924 in Hartsville, the daughter of the late Paul T. and Lessee Helms Beckham. She was an "Officer of the Courts" in the legal systems of Georgia, South and North Carolina for 18 years. She later served her faith as a Christian Science Practitioner, holding a "CS" degree in The Science of Christianity. More recently, Wren George became active as a writer with the nom deplume of "The Carolina Wren." Surviving are her husband, T. M. "Mike" Nelson George of Wilmington, N.C.; four children, Judith Hamilton of Solana Beach, Calif., Constance Anne Netherland of Carlsbad, Calif., C. WM. (Bill) Smith of Charlotte, N.C. and Russell E. Smith of Gainesville, Ga.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Hervey Beckham and Robert Beckham, both of Augusta, Ga., and Jack D. Born in Chesterfield County, he was a son of the late Ezekiel and Kate Gainey Tyner and was a retired farmer. Surviving are three sons, Buck (Linda) Tyner, Bobby (Juanita) Tyner and Ronnie Tyner, all of Patrick; four daughters, Mildred (L.A.) Gainey, Judy (Eli) Howle, both of Hartsville, Mary Player and Lois (James) O’Neal, both of Patrick; 28 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
