Mrs. Rehette L. Stein died Jan. 7 at home. She was a native of Beaufort and had lived in Savannah most of her life. She was the widow of Luke Stein. She was a member of Temple Mickve Israel of Savannah and served as Docent for several years. She was a member of the Isle of Hope Garden Club, Hadassah and Sisterhood of Temple Mickve Israel.
SURVIVORS: three sisters, Frances Siegel of Anderson, S.C., Mimi Greenfield of Savannah and Beth Kennedy of Beaufort; a brother, Merrill Levy of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews.

ALMA -- Linda "Pat" Johnson, 57, died Jan. 8 at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center in Brunswick. She was a native of Bacon County, was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.

Reatha Mulligan Murray, 89, died Jan. 7 at Candler Hospital. She was a native of Yemassee, S.C., and lived in Savannah most of her life. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, serving in the choir and on the Mission Board and Pastor Aide Board.

Ellie "Bill" Cooper, 86, died Jan. 6 at Candler Hospital. She was a native of Bulloch County and lived in Savannah most of her life. She had worked for Central of Georgia Railroad for many years and retired from Georgia Ports Authority after 30 years.

ODUM -- O.W. "Red" Bracey, 77, died Jan. 9 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick. He was a native of Wayne County, a Navy veteran and a former manager of Hoke's Truck Stop & Jesup Car Wash.

Phyllis D. Henderson
BLACKSHEAR -- Mrs. Phyllis Davis Henderson, 57, died Jan. 10 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. She was a native of Coffee County and lived in Pierce County since 1970. She was a member of Blackshear First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and their noon circle. Before retiring, she was a loan officer in the commercial department of First Federal Savings and Loan Co.
SURVIVORS: her husband, Gary L. Henderson of Blackshear; two sons and daughters-in-law, Berrien and Becky Henderson of Blackshear, and Richard D. and Hatsuyo Henderson of Orlando, Fla.; and several other relatives.

GLENNVILLE -- Barbara Morris NeSmith, 39, died Jan. 9 at Memorial Heath University Medical Center in Savannah. She was a native of Evans County and lived in Glennville most of her life. She was a former employee of Murcel Manufacturing Co.

HINESVILLE -- Bertha Randolph, 79, died Jan. 7 at Midway Health Care Center, Midway. She was a native of Prince Edward County, Va., and resided in Hinesville the past five years. She was a music teacher and a member of Race Street Baptist Church in Farmville, Va.
SURVIVORS: three sons, Lewis Braxton and Jessie Braxton, both of Hinesville, and Raymond Braxton of Farmville, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Lucia Braxton of Hinesville; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Lawton H. Sallette
LUDOWICI -- Lawton H. Sallette, 82, died Jan. 9 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. He was a Long County native and a lifelong resident of Ludowici. He was a member of Ludowici First Baptist Church, Bethlehem Chapter No. 269 Order of the Eastern Star, the Landrum Masonic Lodge No. 48 in Savannah, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was formerly owner and operator of Franklin Restaurant in Ludowici for 10 years and retired from Union Camp Corp.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Alla Mae Gordon Sallette of Ludowici; two daughters, Jane Billings of Ludowici and Janet Murray of Hilton Head Island; a sister, Jackie Nell Jones of Jesup; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

SURVIVORS: two daughters, Gail Wofford of Dunwoody and Chotsy Waites of Decatur; three grandchildren, Andrew Lockwood of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Rebecca Jordan of Alpharetta and Adam Waites of Duluth; a great-granddaughter, Alexandria Waites of Deluth; and several nieces and nephews.

Dr. Roy G. Wilson, M.D., 63, died Jan. 1 at home. He was a native of Franklin County and lived in Savannah most of his life.

Donna K. Altis
Donna King Altis, 48, died Jan. 8. She was a native of Virginia, lived in Charleston for 14 years and was employed there by Piggly Wiggly Carolina. She transferred to Savannah in 1989 and was store operator of Piggly Wiggly No. 106. She was a member of Richmond Hill United Methodist Church.
SURVIVORS: her mother, Lillian P. King, Salem, Va.; a daughter, Stephanie Yopp of Charleston; two sons, Scott Altis and Michael Altis, both of Savannah; a daughter-in-law, Carrie Scholar Altis of Savannah; a grandson, Jacob Michael Altis of Savannah; a brother, George W. Louie M. Nunn
Louie Matthew Nunn, 84, a former Savannah alderman, school board member and union official, died Jan. 9 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was a native of Mitchell and lived in Savannah since 1940. He worked as a business manager for the Carpenter's Union for 31 years. He served as a Savannah city alderman from 1962-1964. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union No. 256, Alee Temple Shrine, the Bacon Park Senior Blitz and a Mason. He was a former member of Board of Public Education and had served on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple and the Learners Sunday School Class. He was a past president of the Building Trades Council and was a lieutenant colonel, Aide De Camp on the governor's staff during the administration of S. Ernest Vandiver in 1959.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Ruby M. Nunn of Savannah; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Holbrook L. Mason of Savannah; a sister-in-law, Mary Lee Nunn of McRae; three grandchildren, Susan Robertson, Laurie Gaylord and Barry Mason, all of Savannah; two great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

WAYNESVILLE -- R.L. Ammons, 76, died Jan. 8 at Columbia-Augusta Medical Center. He was a native of Brantley County and the widower of Pearly Riggins Ammons. He was a member of Waynesville Baptist Church and retired as a heavy equipment operator after many years with H.S. Wilson Construction in Nahunta.
SURVIVORS: eight daughters, Peggy Gibson, Pat Hickox, Carolyn Ammons, Cheryl Wainwright and Robin Ammons, all of Waynesville, Rita Howard of Nahunta, Susie Wilson of Folkston and Monica Allen of Hilliard, Fla.; two sons, Ricky Ammons and Jamie Ammons, both of Waynesville; a sister, Betty McGuire of Waynesville; 32 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
