She was a member of Cedar Street Baptist Church for more than 30 years, a member and former teacher of the Mary Sunday School Class and a past member of the Willing Workers Home Demonstration Club. She was the widow of John Greer Waddell.

Edward German Sr.
NEW YORK -- Edward "Eddie" German Sr., 83, died Jan. 9 in Brooklyn. He was born and educated in Screven County, Ga. He lived in Brooklyn for 60 years and retired from Community College of Brooklyn. He was a former member of Cypress Pond Missionary Baptist Church of Newington, Ga., and a member of Union Baptist Church of Brooklyn, where he served as chairman of trustees and sang in the choir. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Elizabeth German of Brooklyn; two daughters, Debra German and Linda German, both of Brooklyn; three sons, Ronald German of Delaware, Edward German Jr. of Brooklyn and Donald German II of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Lillian German Holmes of Savannah; a brother, John H. German of Charleston; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

George W. Adams
George Wilmot Adams, grand marshal of Savannah's 1993 St. Patrick's Day Parade, died Jan. 10 at Candler Hospital. He was 81. The native of Dublin, Ga., was a retired warrant officer of the 165th Georgia Air National Guard and an original member of the unit. He was a member of the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee and served as parade general chairman on two occasions. He also was a past president of Friendly Sons of St. Patrick and a member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians and Knights of Columbus Council No. 5588. Adams was a charter member of Whitefield United Methodist Church and a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. He was a member of the 8th Air Force Historical Society, the Reserve Officers Association and the Flying Guardsman.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Florence Counihan Adams of Savannah; two sons and a daughter-in-law, G.W. Adams of Charleston, and Robert E. and Kieran Adams of Savannah; a brother, Parker J. Adams of Florida; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.

She moved to Stone Mountain, but in 1989 returned to Blackshear. She worked with the telephone company for 46 years before retiring, and was active with the Telephone Pioneers, serving as president of the Cherokee Council for 21/2 years. She was the widow of Robert Lee Herring.
