Born in Darlington County, he was the son of the late Wiley I. and Lulla Dixon Atkinson.
Surviving are three sons, Buddy Atkinson, Jr. of Society Hill, Raymond Atkinson of the Dovesville community, and Leon Atkinson of Lydia, SC; one daughter, Penny Atkinson, of Society Hill; and one brother, David Atkinson of Society Hill.
Dorothy Sugrue Monahan

Dorothy Sugrue Monahan of Hartsville, SC, 86, died February 20, 2000. Mass of Christian burial was held in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Final commendation and farewell prayers will be held February 24, 2000 in Calvary Cemetery, Holyoke, MA, directed by Brown-Pennington-Adkins Funeral Home.
Born in Holyoke, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Gertrude Sugrue. She was the widow of Stephen Monahan and also predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Lesieur.
Surviving are one daughter, Karen Glanville of Hartsville; one brother, Thomas Shugrue (spelled as in the paper) of West Springfield, MA; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ella Louise Lockett Osterman of Darlington, SC died February 13, 2000. Funeral services were held in Ephesus Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Burial followed in Meadowland Garden of Peace in Toney, AL, directed by Jordan Funeral Home.
Born in Dawson, GA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Mozelle and Essie Lee Thomas Lockett. She was the widow of both Thomas Victor Holcombe and Francis Alexander Osterman. She was also predceased by a brother, Booker Thomas Lockett.
Surviving are four daughters, E. Jean Holcombe of Atlanta, GA, Eurydice V. Osterman of Huntsville, AL, Charlotte M. Osterman of Columbus, OH, and Alexine C. Smith of Indianapolis, IN; and one granddaughter.

Born in Darlington County, she was the daughter of the late Donia and Carrie Pauley Fox. She was the widow of both Willie Rogers and Ernest Sellers.
Survivors include two daughters, Willie Mae Williams of Hartsville and Rosa Lee Wilson of Florence, SC; two sisters, Mamie Rooks of Hartsville and Edell Abson of Timmonsville, SC; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Macheryle Hickman of Florence, SC; one son, Obie Hickman, Jr. of Florence; one daughter, Olivia Hickman of Florence; two stepchildren, Yasheika Griffen of Norfolk, VA, and Angel Solomon of Florence; six sisters, Viola Stevenson, Marlene Ross, Ruby Goodson, Ruth Coe, Hannah Hudson and Janie Kennedy, all of Darlington; four brothers, Henry Hickman, Jr., Thomas Hickman, both of Darlington, Willie Hickman of Richmond, VA, and Jasper Hickman of Bishopville, SC; and two step-grandchildren.
