CLINTON S.J. Whitfield, 89, formerly of 202 Davidson St. died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, in Anderson.
Born in Townville, he was a retired employee of Kendall Mills in Newberry, a Shriner and a member of the First Baptist Church in Clinton.
Surviving are son, Troy W. Whitfield of Vienna, Va.; brothers, Ralph J. Whitfield and Justin B. Whitfield, both of Anderson; sisters, Sue Murphy of Anderson and Grace McCall of Duncan; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was a son of the late Furman Jones and Bertha Ann Holden Whitfield. He was preceded in death by brothers, Otis, Folger and Jeff Whitfield; and sister, Willie Mae W. Hellborg.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rosemont Cemetery by the Rev. Dr. Blake Harwell. The family will receive friends Sunday immediately following the graveside service. Gray Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
Webb, Dallas J.
ELBERTON, Ga. Dallas J. Webb, 72, of 288 W. Tate St. died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at Elbert Memorial Hospital.
Born in Elberton County, he was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. He was retired from Harmony Blue Granite Company and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of the Elberton VFW.
Surviving are sons, Bruce Webb of Bowman and Dennis Webb of Arabi; and six grandchildren.
He was the widower of Betty McGarity Webb and was the son of the late Emil Webb and Janie Fortson Webb. He was preceded in death by son, Robert Cary "Bobby" Webb; and brothers, Hugh and Charles Webb.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowman. The family will be at the home. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church.

Douglas S. "Bebe" Tucker, 53, of 394 Stewart Circle, Anderson, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at Hospice of the Upstate.
Born in Anderson, he was a member of Welfare Baptist Church. He worked for the City of Anderson as a heavy machine operator for 33 years and was a graduate of Westside High School Class of 1967.
Surviving are widow, Barbara Ann Ellis Tucker of the home; daughters, Peggy Richardson of Anderson and Sandra Ellis of Rochester, N.Y.; brothers, Willie (Mann) Tucker Jr. and Melvin Tucker of Anderson; stepmother, Jeanette Tucker of Anderson; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was a son of the late Willie "Buster" Tucker Sr. and Lillie Mae Mattison Tucker. He was preceded in death by brother, Marvin Tucker.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Welfare Baptist Church with Dr. S.B. Neeley, officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will be from 7 until 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home. The family is at the home.

Born in Anderson County, she was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
Surviving are daughters, Brenda Rogers and Vivian Wright, both of Greenville, and Jeanette Donald of Anderson; son, Otis Thompson of Honea Path; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was the widow of Walter Samuel Thompson and was the daughter of the late Lizzie Dacus Couin and Noah Collier.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Annie-Frank Memorial Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. Interment will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Honea Path. The family is at the home.

TOCCOA, Ga. Ronald Leon Pedigo, 65, of 629 Middle School Road, Eastanollee, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born in Sullivan, Ill., he lived most of his life in Sullivan and later in Stephens County. He was a veteran in the US Navy, a member of the Church of God in Sullivan, and was a restaurant owner and manager in Illinois and Georgia.
Surviving are daughter, Rhonda Sparrius of Pekin, Illl.; mother, Agnes Elizabeth Wooley Pedigo of Eastanollee; brothers, Roger Pedigo of Fairhope, Ala., and Gerald Pedigo of Mattoon, Ill.; sisters, Betty Sanders of Eastanollee, Dottie Uselton of Lavonia and Carolyn Meira of Buford; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by father, Gentry Allen Pedigo; and brothers, Robert, Kenny, and Philip Pedigo.

PELZER Donnie Kinsey Cooley, 93, formerly of Pelzer, widow of Vance Cooley, died Thursday, November 28, 2002 at Riverside Nursing Center in Piedmont.
Born in Hall County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Doc Moody Ash and Cona Moose Ash Reece. She was retired from the Kendall Co. and a member of the Pelzer Wesleyan Church.
Surviving are a son-in-law, Jimmy Hopkins of Aiken; a sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and James Davis of Easley; two grandchildren, Melanie H. Leonard of Pawley's Island, SC and Karen M. Cooper of Easley; five great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two daughters, Mildred Kinsey Marchant and Sandra Kinsey Hopkins; two sisters, Claudia Millwood and Edna Gilliam; three brothers, D.M. Ash, Clifford Ash, and Jack Reece.
Funeral services will be 3pm Sunday at Gray Mortuary Chapel, Pelzer by Rev. Scott Key. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

CLEMSON William Lewis Bagwell, Sr. of 215 Knollwood Drive, Clemson, SC, died November 28, 2002 at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC. He was born on Lee Street, Ware Shoals, SC, August 5, 1930, the son of the late William Breal and Ruby Mae Hughes Bagwell.
He is survived by one sister, Joanne B. Wright of Hodges; his wife of forty-one years, Miriam Cooper Bagwell and their children, Kimberly Janice Bagwell of Greenwood and William Lewis "Lew" Bagwell, Jr. of Anderson; daughter-in-law, Judy Martin Bagwell and two granddaughters, Heather Lynn and Mary Elizabeth Bagwell.
He was a graduate of Ware Shoals High School, served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict following which he was employed by Riegel Textile Corporation for twenty seven years, retiring as Superintendent, Preparation and Finishing.
He later worked at Emerald Center Multi-County Board for Disabilities and Special Needs for ten years as Manager of Residences, where he still served on the Human Rights Committee.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Ware Shoals for forty three years where he served as Deacon, Chairman of the Board of Deacons, Sunday School Superintendent, Brotherhood President and Teacher of the Fred O'Dell Sunday School Class. After moving to Clemson in 1999, he became a member of East Clemson Baptist Church where he had served as Deacon, Chairman of Long Range Planning Committee and on the Budget & Finance Committee.
Active in civic affairs, Mr. Bagwell had served as a Board Member of the Ware Shoals Planning & Development Commission; Ware Shoals Welfare Foundation; Ware Shoals Community Foundation; Salvation Army Board; Abbeville County Development Board; a member of Ware Shoals Town Council and President of the Ware Shoals Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Ware Shoals Quarterback Club for five years. He also coached Parks & Recreation baseball and football for ten years. He was a Life Member of Ware Shoals Lodge No. 306 A.F.M. and for the past thirty-eight years he has served as an IPTAY representative, most recently from Pickens County.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 30, 2002 at 2PM at Calvary Baptist Church, Highway 252, Ware Shoals, SC with Reverend Robert Emory, Reverend Billy Slatten and Reverend Kirby Winstead officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Masonic rites.
Pallbearers will be Keith Summer, Jim Wright, Gary Davis, Robbie Cooper, Bill Thompson, Dan Thompson, Mark Cooper, Kerry Cooper and Jackie Gaston.

Born in Black Mountain, N.C., he was retired from Summey Advertising Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was an E-5 SGT with the 82nd Airborne. He was a member of Black Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and auxiliary deputy sheriff. He was of the Baptist faith.
