Kay Godfrey Bolf, 65, of 668 Buck Shoals Road, Gaffney, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at the Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care.
A native of Gaffney, she was the wife of Stephen E. Bolf and daughter of the late William Edward Godfrey and the late Sara Davis Godfrey.
She was retired from Union-Butterfield and a lifelong member of the Cherokee Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Tracy Bolf Ruppe of Gaffney; two sons, Stevie Bolf and Scott Bolf, both of Gaffney; four grandchildren; four sisters, Pat Miller of Pauline, and Frances Martin, Joyce Martin and Jackie Crawford, all of Gaffney; and a brother Jim Godfrey of Mooresboro, N.C. She was preceded in death by a brother Derek Godfrey.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Mike Frazier and Greg McVey officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will at the Cherokee Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Adam Ruppe, Devan Bolf, Michael Sprouse, Howard Barnhill, Steve Beheler, William Cash, Bedford Fitzgerald and Boyce Bridges.

Frances Lamb Moore Spencer, 84, of 421 Colonial Ave., Gaffney, died Saturday, Nov. 27, at her residence.
A native of Chesnee, she was first married
to the late George Moore, and a daughter of the late Pont Lamb and the late Ammie Richards Lamb.
She retired from Hamrick Mills where she worked as a textile employee for more than 20 years. She also was a member of Christian Heights Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Douglas Wayne Moore of Hickory Grove, Herbert Moore of Waxhaw, N.C., and Harold Moore of Waco, N.C.; a daughter Linda Reuschling of Belmont, N.C.; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christian Heights Baptist Church in Gaffney with the Rev. Randy McCraw officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Douglas Wayne Moore Jr., Otis George Moore, Richard James Moore, Chris Millard, Louie Dameron and Richard Jones. The family will be at the residence.

Lunette Ross
Peggy Lunette Millwood Ross, 66, of 3079 Pacolet Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Monday evening, November 29, 2004, at her home.
Mrs. Ross was born in Cherokee County on March 19, 1938, to the late Charlie and Ola Mae Osment Millwood. She was the widow of Victor C. Ross.
She retired from Stouffer's and was a member of Blue Branch Baptist Church. Mrs. Ross was a loving foster mother, caregiver and baby-sitter.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Pattie & Johnny Johnson of Gaffney; two sons, Charles Ross and Joel Ross, both of Gaffney; son-in-law, Richard 'Dickie' Million of Cowpens; eight grandchildren, Brandy Ross of Cowpens and Candy Ross of Gaffney, Ashley Million of Gaffney, Stacy Million and William 'Bill' Million of Cowpens, Jonathon Johnson and Dacy Johnson, both of Gaffney, Tezlar Ross of Gaffney; one sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Van Williams of Gaffney; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ervin and Sandra Millwood and Bill and Cheryl Milwood, all of Gaffney.
A daughter, Vickie Million and a sister, Louise Millwood, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, December 1 at the home. She will be placed in the church at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, at Blue Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Eddie Smith, Dereck Millwood, James Osment and Guy 'Butch' Nance officiating. YORK - Mr. James Bristol ''Brisco', 75 of 2210 Old Son Lowery Road, York, SC was born on April 24, 1929 to the late Will and Emma Bristol. He departed this life on November 27, 2004 in the home.
He was a native of Henrietta., NC. He was a retired brick mason. He joined New Zion Baptist church as a child. He laterjoined Gethsemane Holiness Church in Kings Mt., NC where he was in faithful service as a deacon.
His mother and father; 2 brothers, Frank and George Bristol; 2 sisters, May Bristol and Margaret Roberts; and 2 sons, Garry and Berry Bristol preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife, Queen Bristol of the home; five daughters, Delores 'Ann' Littlejohn of Shelby, NC, Diane (Rev. Joe Logan) of Bostic, NC, Sheila (Barry) Leonard; Sabrea B. Line Bloom Draper Rubba, died November 29, 2004 at her home at 107 Elizabeth Drive, Blacksburg, South Carolina. She was the widow of Nelson H. Bloom, Glen C. Draper, and Dr. Anthony Rubba, Captain, USN (retired). She is survived by a beloved son, Andre Leopold Bloom of El Paso, Texas, and grandson Andre H. Bloom, his wife Lisa and children Justin, Heidi and Andrew, of Blacksburg, SC. She is also survived by a step-grandson, Stephen G. Draper and his mother Sara Draper of Toledo, Ohio. In Belgium, she is survived by a nephew, Leopold Voisin, neice Elizabeth Richards, uncle Rene Tache and families. She studied at The Academie des Arts Decoratifs of Verviers and the Academie des Beaux Arts in Toumai, Belgium, in USA: Bowling Green State University and Skowegan School of Art, Maine. She worked and received awards in an unusually varied number of media: oil, water color, pastel, casein, acrylic, intaglio and relief printmaking, illuminated calligraphy and enameling.
During her residence in Toledo, Ohio, as a veteran of One Artist Shows, Aroa, State and National Art Competetions, she had a consistent record of awards and recognitions. Amongst these are: Toledo Musum of Art Annual Area Show: (1955) Best Toledo Scene, (1957) Best Architectural, (1958) Best Academic, (1960) Park Lane Award; National Bank Show (1960-64-66-67-70); Midwest Tri-Show (1954-60-62-66-68-70); Defiance College: Five Women in Art (1969), Nat. Jefferson, La. (1960), American Artists National (1970); Nat. Casein; Art Interests, Inc. (1957 & 1969) Scholarships Awards; Toledo Museum of Art, Gallery 8; Once Artist Show, etc...
Her work was also included in several Traveling Exhibitions circulating through the USA, i.e. National Casein, National Water Color Society, Printmaking National, American Artists Association, etc.
She is the only person to be twice selected as recipient of the Honor Award by the Toledo Federation of Art Societies for outstanding contributions to art and fostering art activities in the community (1964 & 1966).
Founder of Spectrum, Friends of Fine Arts in 1978, she was presented The Distinguished Honor Award. She was also honored with TAC and Athena Art Society for Leadership, Excellence in Art and Achievement in raising artistic endeavors in the Toledo area, and other recognitions. Upon moving to Delray Beach, Florida, she resumed her art career and civic activities, teaching extensively and successfully participating in various art competitions. Highlighting a few One Artist Shows are: The Stuart Museum, Spectrum Invitational 10th Anniversary, Salisbury Historical, NC, College of Boca Raton Smith Gallery, etc.
Awards include: National League of American Pen Women: Florida (1986) Distinguished Service Award, (1986), National Outstanding Pen Woman Award, (1989), National Outstanding Award for achievement (1990), Boca Branch Shoe, H.E. (1996): Jury Recognition Award for Outstanding Work of Art, National NLAPW Award for fostering 4 new branches, N.W. Ohio, Treasure Coast, Gold Coast and Lake Tahoe, CA.
She lectured extensively in Ohio and appeared on many local TV, radio programs, and panel discussion groups. She has juried national and local exhibitions, also authored an instruction booklet, 'Understanding and Mixing Color.'
In numerous art and civic organizations she held various offices and served as President of The Toledo Artist's Club, Soroptimist International of Toledo, Athena Art Society (1967-69 & 1973-75), Spectrum, Friends of Fine Arts (Founder) and Boca Raton Branch, NLAPW.
The artist is listed in Marquis Who's Who: in Midwest (1972), South and Southwest (1988), Who's Who in America (1989), In American Women (1974), Who's Who in the World (1989), Who's Who in American Art (Bowker-Cattell 1970), International Roll of Honor (IBI), and other biographical publications.
A receiving of friends will be held Wednesday night, December 1, from 7 until 8:30.

Cecil Gordon Edwards, 78, of 215 Overbrook Drive, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
A native of Wayne County, Ky., he was the widower of Lila "Jackie" Edwards and son of the late Henry and Lucy Smith Edwards. He was a retired timber inspector and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He attended Beaverdam Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy Carter of Gaffney and Stephanie Hope Edwards of the home; a brother, Robert Edwards of Munfordville, Ky.; a sister, Eva Daniels of Graham, N.C.; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Edwards.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Bobby Cable. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.

Margaret Carolyn Norton Walker of 149 Crosswhite Lane, Statesville, N.C., went to her heavenly home on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born June 12, 1937, in Alexander County, N.C., to the late William Howard and Margaret Milholen Norton. Widow of Tracy Clayton Walker, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and caregiver to her husband and her parents. Her hobbies were collecting chickens, yard work, flowers, and reaching out and touching the lives of others.
She is survived by two sons, Nathan Austin Hines and wife, Janet, of Hiddenite, N.C., and David Norton Hines and wife, Angela, of Statesville; a stepdaughter, JoAnn White of Statesville; five grandchildren, Frankie Hines, Jacob Hines, Chelsea Hines, Anna Hines and Lily Hines; three brothers, Lynn Norton and wife, Joann, of Stony Point, N.C., the Rev. Sidney Norton of Gaffney and the Rev. Wayne Norton and wife, Joanne, of Taylors; and a sister, Joyce N. Keever and husband, Jerry, of Taylorsville, N.C.
