Funeral services for Maggie Mae Larymore Bairefoot, 84, will be held at 4 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Victory Baptist Church in Darlington. Burial will be in the Swift Creek Baptist Church cemetery, directed by Kistler–Hardee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bairefoot died Sunday, May 25. She was born in Lee County, a daughter of the late Louie and Caroline Melissa Hicks McKinley. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and retired from Nytronics of Darlington.
Survivors include one daughter, Godiva McLendon of Darlington; three brothers, Russell (Edna Mae) Larymore of Charleston, Jennings (Rebecca) Larymore of Dar–lington and Willard (Eloise) Larymore of Darlington; one sister, Letha (David) Robin–son of Bishopville; five grandchildren, Charlene (Jeff) Cathcart of Irmo, Michael Bairefoot of Myrtle Beach, Patrick Bairefoot of Green–ville, Brad (Elayna) Bairefoot of Melbourne, Fla., and Bart (Suzanne) McLen–don of Florence; and two daughters–in–law, Anne Hayes Bairefoot of Inman, and Mary Neely Bairefoot of Florence.
She was predeceased by her husband, Grady Henry Bairefoot; sons, Vorn Leon and Louie Bernard Bairefoot; brothers, M.C. Bairefoot and Cecil Larymore; and three sisters, Beatrice Johnson, Ivory Johnson, and Carrie Broderick.

LAMAR — Mrs. Fannie Mae Davis died on Sunday, May 25, at the Carolinas Hospital System of Florence after an illness. Arrange–ments will be announced by Hines Funeral Home, Inc. of Lamar.
VIRGINIA MIMS DIONNE
FLORENCE — A mass of Christian burial for Frances Virginia Mims Dionne, 71, was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Florence. Burial followed in Florence Memorial Gardens, directed by Kiser Funeral Home of Cheraw.
Mrs. Mims died Saturday, May 24. Born in Bennettsville, she was a daughter of the late William Shelton and Beulah Mae Suggs Mims. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church where she served on the Eucharistic Adoration Committee and was a member of the Saint Anthony Seniors. She enjoyed bowling, golf and gardening.
Surviving are her husband, Norman E. Dionne of Florence; sons, N. Keith Dionne of Florence, Timothy E. Dionne of Hartsville, and Richard M. (Lynn E.) Dionne of Hartsville; grandchildren, Ellen M., Rachael L., and Mark E. Dionne, all of Hartsville; and brother, Jerry Mims of Cheraw.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Billy Mims; and sister Margaret Joyner.
LeANN HAMBY
Funeral services for LeAnn Rene Cannon Hamby, 55, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2003, at the Brown–Pennington–Atkins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Deane Shaffer officiating.Burial followed in Westview Memorial Park cemetery.
Mrs. Hamby died Wednesday, May 21, 2003. Born in Wichita, Kan., she was a daughter of Vivan Lee and Grace Seifert Cannon.
Surviving are her husband, Russell Hamby of Hartsville; son, Rogan Hamby of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter and son–in–law, Megan and Jason Patterson of Hartsville; sister, Petie Finch of Wellington, Kan.; and brother, John Cannon of Dallas, Texas.
DOROTHY G. JOHNSON
Funeral services for Dorothy Gainey Johnson, 54, widow of William Alexander Johnson, were held Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at 2 p.m.at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Burial was in the Prospect Methodist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson died Sunday, May 25. She was born in Chesterfield County, a daughter of the late Edward and Gracie Purvis Gainey.
Surviving are three sons, Darrell Christopher Turner of McBee, James C. Johnson of Hartsville, William C. Johnson of Hartsville; brother, Rayford Gainey Sr. of Hartsville; two half–sisters, Carolyn Sullivan of Augusta, Ga., and Bobbie Jean Gainey of Hartsville; and four grandchildren.
JACQUELINE M. STEELE
SUMTER — Graveside services for Jacqueline Jackie McLendon Steele, 64, wife of William Billy B. Steele Sr., will be held at 4 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Revs. Charles H. McLendon and Rodney Howard officiating, directed by Elmore–Hill–McCreight Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the home, 90 Tradd Circle.
Mrs. Steele died Monday, May 26. Born in Darlington, she was the daughter of the late Edward Scarborough McLendon and the late Annie Mae Mixon McLendon.
Mrs. Steele was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church. She was currently the bookkeeper for Internal Medical Associates with 16 years of service.
Surviving are her husband of Sumter; a son, W. Bryan Steele Jr. and wife Vicky of Sumter; three daughters, Sheila Thacker and husband Michael J. of Irmo, Sharon Young and husband Jeffrey and Suzann Sears and husband Pat, all of Sumter; two brothers, Edward Bud S. McLendon, and the Rev. Charles H. McLendon, both of Hartsville; two sisters, Joyce Brigman and Sidney Beasley, both of Hartsville; and 11 grandchildren.

BETTY McLEOD WALKER
REIDSVILLE, N.C. — Betty McLeod Walker, 70, of 3121 Vance Street Extension, died Friday, May 23, at N.C. Baptist Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 26, at 11 a.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with entombment in Roselawn Mausoleum.
Mrs. Walker was a native of Hartsville and the daughter of the late Perry F. and Gladys Moody McLeod. She was a retired waitress and attended Shady Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband Joseph Walker of the home; son, Ronnie Dority and wife Maggie of Lancaster; daughter, Eva Popowich and husband Steve of Rockingham, N.C.; six grandchildren; seven great–grandchildren; brother, Perry S. McLeod and wife Carolyn of Hartsville; and sister, Jeanette Strickland of Walterboro.
HEYWARD L. WILLIAMSON, JR.
Funeral services for Heyward Lafayette William–son Jr., 74, were held at 4 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2003, at Brown–Pennington–Atkins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Barker officiating. Burial followed in West–view Memorial Park cemetery. Mr. Williamson, widower of Mildred Shoemake Wil–liamson, died Saturday, May 24, 2003. Born in Florence, he was a son of the late Heyward Lafayette Williamson and Blanche Ingram Williamson Lane. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Surviving are his sons and daughters–in–law, Michael L. and Jan Williamson of Lancaster, Heyward L. and Lisa Williamson III of Hartsville; daughters and son–in–law, Arbe Williamson of Columbia, Dawn W. and Randy Davis of Hartsville; sisters, Elizabeth W. Smith of Hartsville, Barbara W. Blank–enship of Marietta, Ga.; sister–in–law, Louise Williamson of Hartsville; grandchildren, Mary Beth Williamson of Lancaster, Jon Michael Williamson of Lancaster, Emily Williamson of Hartsville, and Laney Williamson of Hartsville. He was preceded in death by his brother, James C. (Jake) Williamson.
MARY FRANCES WILLIS
DARLINGTON — Mary Frances McLaurin Willis, age 82, died Friday, May 23, in a Florence hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday, May 25, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Terry Beckom. Interment followed in Mt. Hope cemetery.
Mrs. Willis was born in Marlboro County, daughter of the late Neill D. and Lucy Culbreth McLaurin. She was married
to the late H.E. Gene Willis. Mrs. Willis was a housewife, member of the Eastern Star and of Epworth United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Epworth Ladies Aide.
Surviving are two sons, Frank E. (Marguerite) Willis of Florence and Johnny R. Willis of Darlington; two daughters, Mary Neal Willis Groover of Bennettsville and Martha Willis Ray of Florence; three grandchildren, Laurin Groover, Edie Groover and Thomas Ray; also two brothers, Neill D. McLaurin of Darlington and Charles Duncan McLaurin of Fayetteville, N.C.

Graveside services for Gladys Catoe Foote, 89, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2003, at Middendorf Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Griggs officiating, directed by Brown–Pennington–Atkins Funeral Home.
Mrs. Foote, widow of Andrew J. Foote, died Tuesday, May 20. Born in Chesterfield County, she was a daughter of the late Julius Caesar and Lenora Dixon Catoe.
Surviving are her sisters, Lois C. Foote of Bishopville, Terah C. Davis of Florence, Wilma C. Driggers of Hartsville; and niece, Donna Driggers of Hartsville.
CORA LEE ROBINSON
Funeral services for Cora Lee Robinson, 93, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2003, at New Hope United Methodist Church in McBee. Burial will be in the church cemetery, directed by Young & Young Funeral Home.
Mrs. Robinson died Tuesday, May 20, in Morrell Memorial Nursing Home. She was born in Chesterfield County, a daughter of the late Dave and Pearlie M. Gainey Baldwin. She received her formal education in the public schools of Chesterfield County. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, Missionary Communian, stewardess, Senior Choir and the Eastern Star No. 205.
Surviving are a son, Ernest James Robinson Sr. of Philadelphia, Pa.; a daughter, Mary Lee Robinson Jett of Darlington; daughter–in–law, Nanie Lee Robinson of Hartsville; 28 grandchildren; 77 great–grandchildren and 28 great–great–grandchildren.

LYDIA — Ernest Adams, 60, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center after an illness. Arrangements will be announced by Young & Young Funeral Home.

Edmond Isaac Jr., 61, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at his residence after an apparent heart attack. Arrangements will be announced by Young & Young Funeral Home.
GLADYS M. SELLERS
GLOUCESTER, Va. — Funeral services for Gladys Morris Seller, 77, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2003, at Miller–Rivers–Caulder Funeral Home Chapel of Chesterfield with interment in White Oak Presbyterian Church cemetery.
Mrs. Sellers died Monday, May 19. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Maybell Alexander Morris. She was a homemaker and was married
to the late Claudius Sellers.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Sellers of Darlington and Nicky Sellers of Chesterfield; three daughters, Judy Leidig and Patsy Sellers of Patrick and Robin Lowney of Gloucester, Va.; one sister, Margaret Melton of Cheraw; three brothers, Howard Morris, Leroy Morris and Johnny Morris, all of Hartsville; eight grandchildren and 12 great–grandchildren.
RAYMOND YARBOROUGH
DARLINGTON — Funeral services for Raymond Yarborough were held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2003, at the Lee Street Church of God with minister Juanita Doe, interim pastor, and the Rev. Bobby Damon officiating. Burial will be today, Friday, May 23, at Florence National cemetery, directed by Mitchell–Josey Funeral Home.
Mr. Yarborough died Saturday, May 17, in the VA hospital in Columbia after an illness. He was born in Darlington County, a son of the late Christopher Columbus and Rebecca Nelson Yarborough.
He received his formal education in the Darlington County public schools. He was a member of Lee Street Church of God. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was honorably discharged. He lived most of his adult life in New York City where he was gainfully employed with Penn Railroad Station from which he retired before moving back to Darlington. He was a member of the King Wingate American Legion Post No. 210.
Survivors include a son, Ray Yarborough Jr. of New York; a grandson, Raymond Yarborough III; two brothers, Malon (Alice) Yarborough of Darlington and Joseph Yarborough of New York; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Y. Greene of Darlington and Mrs. Bessie Yarborough Samuel of New York; two sisters–in–law, Mrs. Sarah Yarborough of New York and Mrs. May Helen Yarborough of Aiken; a brother–in–law, Coit Josey Sr. of Darlington; and a host of nieces and nephews.
