RICHARD L. SELLERS
CHESTERFIELD - Funeral services for Richard Lynn Sellers, 34, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, at Clanton Plains Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield.

Mr. Sellers was born in Chesterfield, a son of Darrell Sellers and Sandra Kay Linton Gainey, and was reared by his great uncle and aunt, Horace and Elsie Linton. He was a welder and pipe fitter.

Survivors are his wife, Donna Kay Huckabee of the home; father, Darrell Sellers of Chesterfield and mother, Sandra Linton Gainey and Danny King of Hartsville; two brothers, Dennis and Sandy Sellers of Chesterfield; grandmother, Katie Linton Burr of Chesterfield; special great uncle and aunt, Horace and Elsie Linton and special cousin, Jewell Linton, all of Chesterfield; three step-sons, Joshua Morton, Kyle Morton and Dalton Burr.

DuBOSE EGLESTON SR.
WAYNESBORO, Va. - A service for DuBose Egleston Sr., 94, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. today, March 1, 2006, at the Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Rockbridge Baths by the Rev. David Dickerson. Interment will follow in Riverview cemetery, Waynesboro at 2 p.m., directed by McDow Funeral Home of Waynesboro, Va.

Mr. Egleston died Monday, Feb. 27, at Augusta Medical Center, Fishersville, Va. He was born Dec. 20, 1911, in Florence, a son of William and Bonnie Aldridge Egleston. Following graduation from the University of South (Sewanee, Tenn.) and the Medical College of South Carolina, he served with the 8th Combat Cargo Squadron in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Dr. Egleston practiced pediatrics in Hickory, N.C., before retraining and practicing Ophthalmology in Waynesboro for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Cincinnati Society of South Carolina and a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Rockbridge Baths, Va.

In the 25 years since he retired, DuBose loved reading, corresponding, traveling, spending time with his wife, sons and grandchildren and at his farm in Rockbridge County. His enthusiasm for life never ended.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Egleston Jr., and two sisters, Sophie Egleston Whitener and Louise Egleston.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Ann Kitchin Josey Egleston; two sons, DuBose Egleston Jr. of Waynesboro and Robert Josey Egleston and wife Amy of Winston Salem, N.C.; two grandchildren, Larken Miller Egleston and Anna Louise Egleston; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939, or Bethesda Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 47, Rockbridge Baths, VA 24473.

OPAL C. HICKS
Services for Opal Catoe Hicks, 75, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2006, in the chapel of Norton Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Market cemetery. The Revs. Wayne Windham and Lonnie Grimsley will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, March 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hicks, who died Feb. 28, was born in Chesterfield, a daughter of the late William Lawson and Mary Johnson Catoe. She was a member of Soul's Harbor Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas Hicks of Hartsville; daughter, Karen Ann McCants of Malaysa; sons, Wayne, Dennis and Frank Hicks of Florence; half-sisters, Ida Powell of Chesterfield, Henrietta McNees of Helena, Mont., Frances Dooley of Sunset Beach, Virginia Oakley of Hartsville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

EMMA J. MIXON
Funeral services for Emma Jane Johnson Mixon, 86, will be held at 4 p.m. today, March 1, 2006, at Prospect United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Pat Orr will officiate with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Prospect United Methodist Church, Box 103, Hartsville, SC 29551.

Mrs. Mixon died Sunday, Feb. 26. Born in Chesterfield County, she was a daughter of the late Calhoun and Annie Hill Johnson. She was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church, and was married to Emory for 67 wonderful years.

Surviving are her husband, Emory Herbert Mixon of Bishopville; sons and daughters-in-law, Herb and Jan Mixon of Hartsville, Aubrey and Ginger Mixon of McBee, Mike and Sandra Mixon of Bishopville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Gerald Kelly of Hartsville, Betty Gail and Al Lundy of Forsythe, Ga., Jo and Carlos Hanna of Florence, Zora and Al Ritter of Roanoke, Va., Judy Speckman of Fort Mill, Cindy Ann and Bobby Griggs of Hartsville, Sandra Clodfelter of Lewisville, N.C.; brothers and sister-in-law, C. B. Johnson of Providence, R.I., James Johnson of Hartsville, Mable Johnson of Hartsville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Buck Johnson, and sisters, Jessie Wren Mathews and Annie Bastek.

OLLIE WEATHERFORD
PATRICK - Funeral services for Ollie Starling Weatherford, 74, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006, at Harris Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Red Parish will officiate with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends today, Feb. 24, at the residence.

Mrs. Weatherford died Wednesday, Feb. 22. Born in Chesterfield County, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Frances O'Neal Starling. She was a member of Harris Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Theodore Weatherford Jr. of Patrick; daughters, Joan Weatherford of Patrick, Sylvia Walters of Society Hill, Debbie Weatherford of Patrick; sisters, Evelyn Williams of Chesterfield, Pearlie O'Neal of Society Hill, Geneva Brigman of Society Hill, Virgina McIntire of Kannapois, N.C.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

ELEANOR R. AUTEN
Funeral services for Eleanor Rhodes Auten, 91, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dr. Jeri Parris Perkins officiated with burial in Magnolia cemetery, directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 213 W. Home Ave., Hartsville, SC 29550 or to the charity of one's choice.

Mrs. Auten, widower of John Franklin Auten Sr., died Saturday, Feb. 25. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Walton Anthony and Vermelle Blackmon Rhodes. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for 52 years, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Circle. She was a former employee of Hartsville Print & Dye Works and the J. L. Coker & Company.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, John Franklin and Sandy Barber Auten Jr. of Hartsville; daughter and son-in-law, Herschell Auten and Dwayne Windham of St. George; brother, Harry G. Rhodes of Prosperity; grandchildren and spouses, Von Auten and Russ Cranford, LaDonna Auten and Jason Rhoad, Barbie Auten and Tripp Lyles, all of Hartsville, Larry and Sarah Lyles Windham of St. George, Emily Windham and Brennan Dees of Montgomery, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Marli Alexis Cranford of Hartsville, David MacKenzie Cranford, Harleigh Caroline Lyles, Jack Auten Rhoad; several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lura Martin, Leona Milsap, Penny Boseman, Miriam Hurley, Katie Howle, Alpha Garrett; brothers, Carlton Rhodes, Jake Rhodes, Bill Rhodes, and Cecil Rhodes.

LELAND E. MOORE
SANFORD, N.C. - Funeral services for Leland Evon Moore, 45, were held 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel in Sanford, N.C. The Rev. Ralph Baker officiated with burial in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Mr. Moore died Friday, Feb. 24, at Central Carolina Hospital. He was a native of Hartsville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Faith Hallman Moore; his mother, Sadie Yarborough Moore, and brother, Danny Larue Moore.

Survivors include his father, Henry Vance Moore of Hartsville; step-daughter, Pamela Saxman of Raleigh, N.C.; brother, Carl V. Moore of Hartsville; sisters, Cindy Evans and Christie Moore, both of Hartsville, and Alice Moore Kelly of Darlington; one grandchild; special friends, Alanis and Taylor Collins and several nieces and nephews.

PETER C. COGGESHALL SR.
Graveside services for Peter Collin Coggeshall Sr., 90, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 24, 2006, at Magnolia cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Jeri Parris Perkins will officiate with burial in Magnolia cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 213 W. Home Ave., Hartsville, SC 29550, or to the charity of one's choice.

Mr. Coggeshall, widower of Rosanne Howard Coggeshall, died Wednesday, Feb. 22. Born in Darlington, he was the second son of the late Robert W. and Beulah Walden Coggeshall.

He was a 1936 graduate, Magna Cum Laude, of the University of South Carolina and earned an MBA, with distinction, from Harvard University in 1938, and was a member of the Research Staff at Harvard Business School after graduation. He was employed by Sonoco Products Company for 49 years and was on the Board of Directors, retiring in 1988 as a senior executive vice president. He was an Eagle Scout, and served for 26 months in World War II in the United States Army. He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega, Omicron Delta Kappa and Phi Beta Kappa fraternities at U.S.C., and the Century Club at H.B.S, and held an honorary D.H.L. degree from Coker College, of which he was a trustee. He was a past president of Carolina-Virginia Purchasing Executives Association, and a director of the South Carolina State Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Board of Visitors of Davidson College.

In Hartsville he was active in several civic affairs having served as chairman of the Board of Byerly Hospital, trustee of Hartsville Memorial Library, director of Hartsville Chamber of Commerce, the first president of Hartsville United Fund, and first chairman of the Zoning Board of Adjustment, and was Citizen of the Year in 1966. He was a past president of Hartsville Rotary Club, and served more than 25 years as a trustee of McLeod Regional Hospital. He was a past member of the Centurion Club in Columbia, The Saint David's Society, and the Damon Gun Club. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hartsville, and had served as both a Deacon and an Elder there.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Peter Collin and Carol Harvey Coggeshall Jr. of Hartsville; daughter, Rosanne Howard Coggeshall of Pittsboro, N.C.; grandson, Collin Drum and Melissa Hayes Coggeshall; great-grandson, Peter Hayes Coggeshall, all of Hartsville.

KEYHANNAH ABRAMS
Keyhannah Abrams, 31, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006. Arrangements will be announced by Young & Young Funeral Home.

WILLIAM COOK SR.
Funeral services for William Roy Cook Sr., will be held at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 24, 2006, at Wesley United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Surrett will officiate with burial in Magnolia cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence, 300 Warner Drive, Hartsville. Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church, 145 E. College Ave., Hartsville, SC, 29550.

Mr. Cook died Wednesday, Feb. 22. Born in Richland County, he was a son of the late Roy Edgar and Caroline Eargle Cook. He was graduated from Columbia High School and The University of South Carolina in 1942. He was an officer in U. S. Navy during World War II. He worked at Westvaco in Charleston from 1947-1956 and for Sonoco Products Company from 1956-1981 and retired as a research chemist. He was a member of the following; S.C. Div. American Chemical Society, chairman in 1980, Chemist of the year in 1981, the chairman of Sulfite and Semichemical Committee, 1978-1979, chairman of the International Sulfite Conference, Montreal, Canada, 1978 both with Technical Association Pulp and Paper Indus-tries, Kiwanis International, Hartsville Country Club-golfer, Seniors', Sonoco Oldtimers Club, Wesley United Methodist Church, member of the Administration Board, lay delegate to annual Conference 1991.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Edith Sheridan Cook of Hartsville; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. William R. and Sherry Cook of Mt. Pleasant; daughters and son-in-law, Nancy C. Law of Columbia, Sheri C. and Edwin G. Sloan of Spartanburg; six grandsons; one granddaughter; two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

OLLIE WEATHERFORD

LARRY E. HAMRICK
BLYTHEWOOD - A homecoming service in celebration for Larry E. Hamrick, 71, will be held at the church at 11 am on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverbend Community Church's benevolence fund, 1015 Corley Mill Rd., Lexington SC 29072 or Ben Lippen School, 7401 Monticello Rd., Columbia SC 29203.

Mr. Hamrick went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 18, after a brief battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Born in Forest City, N.C., Larry was the son of the late Lawrence Edward and Mable Neal Hamrick. After graduating from The Citadel in 1956, he married Grace Jordan in Hartsville. Larry served three years in the USAF. He worked for 38 years in sales and marketing and retired from AMPAD in 1998. In 1988, he was named to the Ben Lippen School Board of Directors in Columbia. He retired from the board after 15 years and was named board member emeritus. Larry had a 25-year ministry with Christian Business Men's Committee, which is a marketplace ministry of evangelism and discipleship to men. He also served as an elder at Riverbend Community Church. Through his mentorship, he inspired many to a deeper walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Mr. Hamrick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Grace, and their children and grandchildren.

Mr. Hamrick was an amazing husband, father, granddaddy, and friend. Psalm 78:3-7.

SHIRLEY WILSON
PATRICK - Funeral services for Shirley Wilson, 57, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at United First Born Church in Camden. Burial will follow services in New Hope United Methodist Church cemetery in McBee with services conducted by Young & Young Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wilson died Friday Feb. 17, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center after an illness. She was born in Chesterfield County, a daughter of the late Newter and Murray and Lucy Bell Pate Baldwin. She received her education in the public schools in the area.

Surviving are her husband, Spencer Wilson Jr. of the home; one daughter, Louvenia Washington; son, Erik Wilson, both of Hartsville; one step-son, Michael Boone; one son-in-law, Robert Washington of Hartsville; three sisters, Henrietta (David) Mitchell, Cathy E. Green and Lucy B. (Stanley) Pate, all of McBee; two brothers, Henry Pate and Archie (Minnie) Baldwin, both of McBee; one grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.

MARTHA D. FARMER
Services for Martha Dixon Farmer, 56, will be held at 3 p.m.Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at Soul's Harbor Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was a member. Burial will be in Magnolia cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Farmer, who died Sunday, Feb. 19, was born in Hartsville, a daughter of the late Wallace David and Margaret Maples Dixon.

Surviving are her husband, Gene Farmer Sr. of Hartsville; sons, Gene Farmer Jr. of Hartsville, John Farmer of Marion; brothers, Cleveland, Lawrence, William (Buck) , Johnny, Timmy Dixon, all of Hartsville, and James David Dixon of Rockingham; and six grandchildren.

MARGURITE M. JONES
Funeral services for Marguerite Melton Jones, 85, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at New Providence Baptist Church. The Revs. Rick Schubert and Bill Stanley will officiate with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends tonight, Feb. 22, from 5 to 7 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jones, widow of J. Carl Jones Sr., died Monday, Feb. 20. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Julia Truett Melton. She was a member of New Providence Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, J. Carl and Janet Jones of Hartsville, David H. and Sharon Jones of Pensacola, Fla., Howard and Cindy Jones of Hartsville; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn and Olin Morrison of McBee, Wanda and Harold Galloway of Columbia, Vicki and Ralph Irick of Florence, Celia and Jackie Mixon of Hartsville, Sally and Robert Turbeville of Columbia, Janna and Jerry Davis of Gilbert; sisters, Thelma McLaurin of Wade, N.C., Frances Cox of Hartsville, Mary Hodges of Santee, Carolyn Howell of Hartsville; brother, James Melton of Hartsville; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Her grandsons will serve as pall bearers.
