Mr. McFarland died Thursday, Feb. 16, at McLeod Hospice Center in Florence. He was born in Darlington County, a son of the late Joe Brown and Viola Cotton McFarland. He received his education in the public schools in the area. He was a member of Mt. Rona No. 348 Masonic Lodge, Second Baptist Church and trustee board.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby Mae McFarland of Hartsville; one daughter, Rena (Jerome) James of Hartsville; two sons, Bennie (Barbara) McFarland of Lamar and Fredrick Thomas of Florence; seven sisters, Lizzie McDaniel and Lucille McFarland, both of Hartsville, Beatrice Ham of Lydia, Viola McFarland of New York, Easter Mae Brown and Carrie Brown, both of Darlington, Marie Brown of Texas; two brothers, Bo McFarland and William McFarland, both of Hartsville; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
BILLY GAINEY
Mr. Gainey was born in Darlington County, son of the late Burnice and Vergia Jordan Gainey. Mr Gainey was a farmer, and enjoyed being outside. He was a member of Welsh Neck Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Bell Gainey; two daughters, Kim Gainey of Society Hill, Lynn (Chris) O'neal; a granddaughter, Maegean Foster; two brothers, David Gainey of Society Hill, Richard Gainey of Hartsville; two sisters, Patsy (Mike) Bryant of Society Hill, RoseMary McCallum of Society Hill; two nephews, Chad Bryant and Marty Gainey; three nieces: Crystal Bryant, Debbie McCallum and Sherry Pratt.

LARRY E. HAMRICK
Mr. Hamrick went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 18, after a brief battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Born in Forest City, N.C., Larry was the son of the late Lawrence Edward and Mable Neal Hamrick. After graduating from The Citadel in 1956, he married
Grace Jordan in Hartsville. Larry served three years in the USAF. He worked for 38 years in sales and marketing and retired from AMPAD in 1998. In 1988, he was named to the Ben Lippen School Board of Directors in Columbia. He retired from the board after 15 years and was named board member emeritus. Larry had a 25-year ministry with Christian Business Men's Committee, which is a marketplace ministry of evangelism and discipleship to men. He also served as an elder at Riverbend Community Church. Through his mentorship, he inspired many to a deeper walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Mr. Hamrick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Grace, and their children and grandchildren.
Mr. Hamrick was an amazing husband, father, granddaddy, and friend. Psalm 78:3-7.
SHIRLEY WILSON
Mrs. Wilson died Friday Feb. 17, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center after an illness. She was born in Chesterfield County, a daughter of the late Newter and Murray and Lucy Bell Pate Baldwin. She received her education in the public schools in the area.
Surviving are her husband, Spencer Wilson Jr. of the home; one daughter, Louvenia Washington; son, Erik Wilson, both of Hartsville; one step-son, Michael Boone; one son-in-law, Robert Washington of Hartsville; three sisters, Henrietta (David) Mitchell, Cathy E. Green and Lucy B. (Stanley) Pate, all of McBee; two brothers, Henry Pate and Archie (Minnie) Baldwin, both of McBee; one grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.

The Rev. Morrison died Saturday, Feb. 11, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1932, in Chesterfield County and was the son of the late Daniel A. Morrison Sr. and Marie Stokes Morrison. He served 39 years as a United Methodist Minister of the S.C. United Methodist Conference, serving in 19 churches, and was pastor emeritus of Bethel United Methodist Church in Spartanburg. The Rev. Morrison graduated from McBee High School, attended the University of South Carolina and Duke Divinity School. He enjoyed gardening and volunteered with Spartanburg County Helping Hands Ministry.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jeanette Pierce Morrison of the home; two sons, Daniel Richard (Carolyn) Morrison of Piedmont and Martin Dale (Beverly) Morrison of Liberty; two daughters, Cindy Marie (Steve) Johnson of Inman and Dana Catherine Morrison and friend, Darlene Myles of Spartanburg; two sisters, Frances Morrison and Elizabeth Frostick, both of McBee; three brothers, Mendel and Olin Morrison of McBee and Frank Morrison of Hartsville; five grandchildren, Christy (George) Rabon, Chase (Morgan) Morrison, Heather Morrison, Richard Morrison and Caitlyn Johnson; and two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Dustin Rabon.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Honorary escorts were United Methodist Ministers and their wives.
DORIS KELLEY
Mrs. Kelley died Monday, Feb. 13. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Esther Best Galloway. She was a faithful longtime member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and a dedicated loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was previously employed with Clemson University Extension Service and was also a nurse for the Darlington County DHEC.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas L. and Sterling Kelley of Savannah, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Judy Kelley and Cecil Oates of Oates; sister and brother-in-law, Camilla Galloway and John Townsend of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Tommy (Waynette) Oates of Oates, Robert (Beth) Oates of Blythewood, Tricia (Bart) Learman of Savannah, Ga., Tonya Kelley of Savannah, Ga.; four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Galloway, her mother, Esther Galloway, and her spouse, Thomas Kelley.

RONALD JEFFERSON SR.
Mr. Jefferson was born in Rock Hill, son of the late Davis and Macy Windham Jefferson. He had retired as a police officer in Washington, D.C., and also served as and inspector for the ABC Board in Washington. Mr. Jefferson enjoyed fishing, playing golf and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Lamar United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Knotts Kennedy Jefferson of Lamar; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Jefferson Jones of Fort Mill; two sons, Ronald James Jefferson Jr. of Norwood, N.C., Chris (Brenda) Jefferson of Lamar; three grandchildren, Kaylea Jones, Katie Jefferson, Matthew Jefferson; two great-grandchildren; three step-sons, LeGrand Kennedy of Timmonsville, John C. Kennedy of Charlotte, Kristopher Wade (Ginger) Kennedy of Florence; a step-daughter, Tammie (Donnie) Weatherford of Hartsville; step-grandchildren, Aaron, Kristen, and KC Weatherford, Krista and David Kennedy and Chance Forkasdi.
Mr. Jefferson was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Muriel Jefferson; two brothers, Harris and Gary Jefferson; and a sister, Irene Jefferson.

MELVIN PADGETT
The Rev. Padgett was born in Valley, Ala., son of the late Johnnie M. and Pearl Carter Padgett. He served in the National Guard and then went on to preach at many churches, including Freewill Baptist in Orangeburg, Calvary Baptist in Marion in which he organized, Gantt Street Baptist in Cayce, County Line Baptist in Rayle, Ga., Beulah Baptist in Branchville, and Faith Baptist in Darlington. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.
Surviving are five sons, Robert M. Padgett of Warsaw, N.C., Johnny R. Padgett of Mullins, Ronald Padgett of Lexington, Curtis D. Padgett of Darlington, Kaleb Padgett of Florence; six daughters, Nancy Padgett of Thompson, Ga., Inez Stroud of Mullins, Tommie E. Haselden of Dillon, Melody Elders of Orangeburg, Julie 'Sunshine' Black of Florence, Mandy Sue Padgett of Darlington; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother, William F. Padgett of Dearing, Ga.
The Rev. Padgett was preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie Hughes Padgett; his second wife, Sue Watts Padgett; a son, Oral M. 'Pee-Wee' Padgett; two brothers, Glen M. and Bobby C. Padgett; and three sisters, Erma McAlhaney, Edna Carter and Eva Griffin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight, Feb. 15, at Belk Funeral Home.

TOM L. YARBOROUGH
Mr. Yarborough passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, with his family by his side, after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born in Lamar, son of Tommy and Jeanette White Yarborough. He was a machinist and a poultry farmer. Mr. Yarborough attended Lamar First Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Stacia Hudson Yarborough of Timmonsville; a son, Luke Yarborough; a daughter, Abby Yarborough, both of the home; three sisters, Dawn (Rick) Smith of Terrell, N.C., Jan Yarborough of Lamar, Angie (Chuck) Weaver of Florence; maternal grandfather, Robert White, and several nieces and nephews.

MILDRED H. HANCOCK
Mrs. Hancock died Friday, Feb. 10. She was born in the Middendorf Community, a daughter of the late Henry McIver and Nettie Hodges Hoffman. She was married
to the late John Ross Hancock. Mrs. Hancock was a graduate of Chicago School of Nursing and was a nurse for 35 years. She began her nursing career at Powe Hospital in Hartsville on Jan. 25, 1942, and worked there until the hospital closed. For 12 years she was employed by Byerly Hospital in Hartsville as a nurse and physical therapist. On Sept. 1, 1964, Mrs. Hancock joined the staff of the Perry Clinic in Chesterfield and worked there until her retirement on Nov. 15, 1977. She was founder of the South Carolina Association of LPN's and the South Carolina State Licensed Practical Nurses Board of Directors. She was a former chairman of the LPN South Carolina State Association, serving on all committees, and held other officer positions in the association. She was the first nurse in Darlington County, and the eighth nurse in the state of South Carolina to receive her license as a LPN. Mrs. Hancock was a member of the Woodmen of the World and held many officer positions in the organization. Mrs. Hancock lived in Cheraw before moving June 16, 1988, to Dunwoody Ga., to live with her daughter. While in Georgia, she participated in the Atlanta Medical Research Program for Alzheimer's Disease from July 3, 1991, to April 5, 1993. She lived with her daughter until it became necessary to enter a nursing facility on July 15, 1993. Mrs. Hancock was a member of Dunwoody Baptist Church, Dunwoody, Ga.
Surviving are a daughter, Marylie Dority Schmidt and husband Lynn of Dacula, Ga.; granddaughter, Susan Woodworth Caldwell of Athens, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Caroline and Andrew Caldwell of Athens, Ga.; a sister, Rosalie Hoffman Sexton of Clio; niece, JoAnn Sexton Hickman of Richmond, Va.; and great-niece and nephew JoAnna and Robert Hickman of Richmond, Va.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Emory Alzheimer's Disease Center, 1841 Clifton Rd., Atlanta, GA. 30329.

Mrs. Hursey, widow of Laurence Monroe Hursey, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Tilman and Ethel Mae Kelley Dixon. She was a member of First Baptist Church and treasurer of her Sunday school class. She worked at the food pantry and was Volunteer of the Year at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center as a pink lady. She retired from Belk department store with more than 30 years of service.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Karen Hursey of Hartsville; daughter, Susan Evans of Darlington; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Miriam Dixon of Darlington; grandchildren, Alex Hursey, Haley Parker, Christopher Parker, Jennifer Parker.
