Mrs. Galloway died Wednesday, Jan. 4, in a local hospital. She was born in Lee County, daughter of the late Haney and Willie Watson Lyles. She worked in the sewing department of the local textile industry. Mrs. Galloway is the widow of Marion L. Galloway Sr. She was a member of Lamar First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Leonard (Michelle) Galloway of Hinesville, Ga., and Bryan (Robin) Galloway of Lamar; a daughter, Ann (Richard ) G. Bell of Lamar; grandchildren, Angel Watts, Rhonda Thomas, Kathy Jo McEver, Regina Kenijear, Leonard Galloway Jr., Denise Windham, Tonya Jenigan, Jason Galloway and Shawn Galloway; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles (Rosene) Lyles of Hartsville, Ray (Ann) Lyles of Sumter; two sisters, Naomi Burris of Sumter, Wilma (Ray) Kelly of Bishopville; and a daughter-in-law, Larinda Galloway of Florence.
Mrs. Galloway was preceded in death by a son, Marion L. Galloway Jr., and brothers, Ed, R.W. and Leo Lyles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lamar First Baptist Church, PO Box 431, Lamar, SC 29069.
MARY ETTA HELMS
Mrs. Helms died Monday, Jan. 2. She was born in Hartsville, a daughter of Frances Tiller Teal of Patrick and the late Robert Allen Teal. She was a graduate of McBee High School and Chesterfield-Marlboro Technical College, and was a medical assistant with Hartsville Diagnostic Associates. Mrs. Teal was a faithful member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church where she was a former teacher in the children's department.
Surviving are her husband, Jackie Helms of the home; one son, Johnnie Helms and Angela Easter of Atlanta, Ga.; mother, Frances Tiller Teal of Patrick; two brothers, Allen (Jackie) Teal of McBee and Terry (Karen) Teal of Patrick; two sisters, Sara (James) Isgett and Debra (Gene) Turner of Patrick; mother-in-law, Loree Middleton Helms of Jefferson; brother-in-law, Johnny W. (Von) Helms of McBee; sister-in-law, Lou Ellen (Ray) Clark of McBee; also a number of nieces and nephews.

ANNIE JACKSON
Mrs. Jackson died Friday, Dec. 30, at her residence after an illness. She was born in Darlington County, a daughter of the late James Dick Jackson and Mary McFarland. She received her education in the public schools in the area. She was retired from Sara Lee Hosiery and the Saleeby Center. Mrs. Jackson attended Deliverance Mission for Christ of Society Hill.
Surviving are her husband, Gary Jackson of Hartsville; three children, Cynthia (Montana) Walker of Hartsville, Gary (Kisha) McFarland and Kent McFarland, both of Darlington; seven siblings, Beverly (Michael) McFarland of Darlington, Katie (Gerald) Taylor Washington, D.C., Annie (Cal) Frazier, Shirley (Clinton) McCoy, Frank (Doris) McFarland, Henry E. Jackson and Leon (Geraldine) Jackson, all of Hartsville; eight grandchildren and a host of other close relatives and friends.
JOHN DIXON
Mr. Dixon, widower of Clemmie Nicholson Dixon, died Saturday, Dec. 31. Born in Chesterfield County, he was a son of the late Burl and Emma Dixon Dixon. He was a member of the First Southern Methodist Church and also attended Wilkes Chapel United Methodist Church. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the McBee Masonic Lodge. He was a farmer and a gardener.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Susan Dixon of Fuquay Varina, N.C.; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Paul Guest, Wanda and Claude Stroud, all of Hartsville; sisters, Geneva Gainey of Kannapolis, N.C., Edelle Melton of Cheraw; grandchildren, Gina Zeigler, Tanya Severt, Rhett Stroud, Keri Davis, Jennifer Coker; 10 great-grandchildren.
MARGARET HARRISON
Mrs. Harrison, widow of Carl Ross Harrison, died Saturday, Dec. 31. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Tom Ed and Lina Segars Hearon. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, David and Janice Harrison of Locust Grove, Va.; sister, Malloy Weathers of Lutz, Fla.; granddaughter, Christine H. Geron; great-granddaughter, Abby Marie Geron.
ELIZABETH AMERSON
Mrs. Amerson died Friday, Dec. 30, in a local hospital. She was born in Winnsboro, daughter of the late George and Annie Amerson Windham. She was a devoted mother and house wife. Mrs. Amerson supported, along with her late husband, James I. Amerson, the Lamar American Legion. Mrs. Amerson was a member of Lamar United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women's Circle, and also attended Lamar Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Jamie Amerson; a daughter and son-in-law, Iris and James Howell, all of Lamar; four grandchildren, Brad (Misty) Kempson, April (Rodney) Watford, Jamie Howell, Dusty Howell; four great-grandchildren, Brad Kempson Jr., Kaitlyn Kempson, Kelsey Watford, Gram Watford; two brothers, Grady Windham and Ollie Windham, both of Columbia; four sisters, Miriam Wilson of Columbia, Margie Kelly of Charleston, Joyce Mitchell of Saluda and Berthleen Windham of Winnsboro.
Mrs. Amerson was preceded in death by a son, James Irie Amerson Jr. and three sisters, Lottie Parnell, Ester Howell and Elise Velasco.

JOAN DUBOSE
Mrs. Dubose died Sunday, Jan. 1. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late William Hallie and Gladys Sturgeon Dudley.
Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Wilson Twitty of Anderson, Suzanne and Don McCormick of Mt. Pleasant, Megan and David Edwards of North Myrtle Beach; sister, Geraldine (Ray) McGuire of Greensboro, N.C.; brother, Bud (Annette) Dudley of Hartsville; grandchildren, Ryan (Kellie) Twitty of Anderson, Adam Twitty of Anderson, Kaitlin Twitty of Anderson, Trey McCormick of Mt. Pleasant, David Edwards of North Myrtle Beach, Matthew Edwards of North Myrtle Beach; friends, D.C. Barbot of Florence and Dianne Dadswell of Hartsville.
GARRETT E. LYSZ
Mr. Lysz died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005. Born in Darlington County, he was a son of Bette Morrison Lysz and the late Edward Anthony Lysz. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was an avid sports fan and a loving, giving son and brother.
Surviving are his mother, of Hartsville; sister, Karen L. Jeffords of Florence; brother-in-law, Ricky Weatherford of Florence; niece, Mary Elizabeth Weatherford of Florence; uncle, Howard E. Morrison of Hartsville; numerous relatives and close friends.
PAUL STEWART
Mr. Stewart died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005. Born in Florence, he was a son of the late Clifton L. and Mattie Stewart Stewart. He was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church and a charter member of North Hartsville Baptist Church. He was a patriot who loved his country. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a heavy machine gunner, was awarded two Bronze Stars, and was involved in the Battle of the Bulge. He was retired from Sonoco Products Co. in 1987 with 43 years of service. He was an avid gardener who also enjoyed auctions and yard sales.
Surviving are his wife, Maedeen Davis Stewart of Hartsville; daughters, Linda S. Wheeler and Brenda S. Arthur, both of Hartsville, Paulette S. Bryant of Orlando, Fla.; brother, Rogers Stewart of Florence; grandchildren, Lori S. Atkinson, Robby Galloway, Darby Howle, Brad Dixon, Wyn Bryant, Stewart Bryant; great-grandchildren, Andy Dampier, Chelsey Johnson, Hallie Howle, Ava Howle.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Stewart and Lovelle Stewart.

LILLIAN C. IVEY
Mrs. Ivey died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005. Born in Chesterfield County, she was a daughter of the late William Shelton and Lou Weatherford Gainey.
Surviving are her son, Hubert R. Gainey of Lancaster; daughters, Doris Robinson of Adamsville, Tenn., Janie Lizardi of Fayetteville, N.C.; Betty Hodge of Acworth, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
SALLY BURR
Mrs. Burr, widow of George E. Burr, died Sunday, Jan. 1. Born in Florence, she was a daughter of the late Allen S. and Thelma Culbreth Ivey. She was a charter member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. She attended Coker College and was retired from Sonoco Products Co. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Sandi of Greensboro, N.C., David and Peggy Ann Burr of Pawleys Island, Jim and Paulette Burr of Camden; grandchildren, Jason Burr, Ashleigh Burr, Jennifer Seigler, Julie Warren, Kristi Sargent, Erich Haskell; four great-grandchildren.
ALICE BRADDOCK
Mrs. Braddock, who died Jan. 1, was born in Lamar, a daughter of the late Rochell and Lucy Brown Huggins. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Dale Wilson of Hartsville; son, George E. Braddock Jr. of Hartsville; sister, Vivian Gladden of Bishopville; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Braddock Sr., and a son, Jackie Mitchell Braddock.
DANNY MOORE
Mr. Moore died Wednesday, Dec. 28. Born in Darlington County, he was a son of Sandra Windham Moore and the late Julian Shull Moore. He was previously the owner and operator of D & D Pool Service.
Surviving are his sons, Casey Moore of Hartsville, Daniel Moore of Elburn, Ill.; daughter, Amanda Rivera of Darlington; mother of Hartsville; brother, Julian R. 'Randy' Moore of Hartsville. He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Moore.
WILLIAM SHEFFIELD
Mr. Sheffield, widower of Sonda Gray Sheffield, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005. Born in Darlington County, he was a son of Agnes Oakley Sheffield Gainey and the late Alonzo Merrill Sheffield. He attended the Hartsville area schools and was employed as a mechanic with Sheffield's Wrecker Service & Garage.
Surviving are his sons, Ken Sheffield of Darlington and Matt Sheffield of Hartsville; daughter, Magen Johnson of Hartsville; mother of Hartsville; sister, Diane Wilkes of Hartsville; brothers, Merrill Sheffield of Darlington, Wayne Stokes of Columbia, Jerry Moore of Hartsville; grandchild, Zoe Sheffield; nieces, Leigh 'Little Bit' Thompson Bradshaw, Erika Sheffield; nephews, Charlie Skylar Bradshaw, Hunter Sheffield, Gabe Wilkes; special friend, Donna Jean. He was preceded in death by his brother, Monkey Sheffield.
ANDREW ATKINSON
Mr. Atkinson died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005. Born in Hartsville, he was a son of the late Andrew and Connie Mae Petty Atkinson.
Surviving are his son, Budgey Atkinson of Hartsville; sisters, Darla Jean Freeman and Carolyn Mixon, both of Hartsville, Lois Gainey of Society Hill, Mary Bewer of Rockingham, N.C., Connie Rodriguez of Conway; brothers, Roger Atkinson, Jimmy Atkinson, Frank Atkinson, Jack Atkinson, Tex Atkinson, all of Hartsville, Scott Atkinson of Pendleton.
