Mrs. Campbell died Tuesday, Oct. 31. She was born in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Benjamin Ryan and Lydia Severence Odom. She was a life long resident of Darlington County and member of the Indian Branch United Methodist Church and member of the Aliene Alexander Sunday School Class. Mrs. Campbell retired from James Rivers after many years of service. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Allen Campbell Sr.; two brothers, Thomas and Heyward Odom, and two sisters, Lena Mae Wallace and Eva Touchberry. Mrs. Campbell was a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include one son, Robert Allen (Anita) Campbell Jr. of Kennewick, Wash.; three daughters, Carol C. (Keith) Dancy of Granite Falls, N.C., Becky (George) Bryant and Susan (Johnny) Cunningham, both of Darlington; one sister, Ethel Cross of Myrtle Beach; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
WILLIAM MONTGOMERY
Mr. Montgomery was the loving son of the late Conyers and Florine Montgomery. He was born in Darlington County on Sept. 20, 1947. He was educated in the public schools of Darlington County and was a 1965 graduate of Butler High School. While attending Butler, he participated in sports and other extra curricular activities.
After graduating from high school, he moved to Washington, D.C., and was employed by Civil Services. He later joined the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Knox, Ken. After four years of service, he received an honorable discharge. He returned to Hartsville, where he gained employment at Sonoco Products Company. He retired from Sonoco and was a member of the Old Timers Club. William answered to many names 'Bo, ' 'Gum, ' and 'Junior Boy.' He was loving and kind and fun to be around.
Early in life on Dec. 26, 1969, William entered into holy matrimony to Brenda Bristow Montgomery in Hartsville and to this union three children were born, Eric Maurice, Cedric Devon and LaShonda Alexis.
Surviving to cherish his memory are a 'loving supportive companion, ' Cynthia Delores Robinson; two daughters: NyKira Montgomery of Hartsville, and LaShonda Alexis Montgomery of Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, Eric (Jenarie) Montgomery and Cedric (Tarish) Montgomery of Hartsville; three sisters, Mary Alice (Bernice) Wilson of Hartsville, Corine M. Ervin of Columbia, and Georgia Mae (John) Pearson of Suitland, Md.; one brother, Hammie C. (Margaret) Montgomery; eight grandchildren; a step-mother, Lula Mae Montgomery; step-sister, Jacquelyn Moore, both of Hartsville; a special mother-in-law, Pinkie Lee Lighty; a brother-in-law; Dwight (Helen) Lighty of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other close relatives and very dear friends.
HOWARD JOHNSON
Mr. Johnson died Sunday, Dec. 31, at his home. Born in Darlington County, he was a son of the late Violet Johnson. He received his education in the public school system and was a member of Christ Holiness Church.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah Myers Johnson of Hartsville; two daughters, Erica Nicole Franklin and Denise Frierson, both of Hartsville; three sons, Robert Frierson of Hartsville, Jeffery Frierson and Hercules Myers, both of Durham, N.C.; two sisters, Delores Shaw and Charlena Johnson, both of Hartsville; two brothers, Jessie Johnson of Florence and Harvey Williams of Darlington; nine grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
MARY ELLEN TEDDER
Mrs. Tedder, widow of Stanford White Tedder and wife of 67 years, died Wednesday, June 20. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Roxie Anderson Jordan. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and the Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was a past women's coordinator with the Darlington County Farm Bureau and a member of the Rose Trellis Garden Club. She loved her children, grandchildren and her flowers.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Nina Tedder, Johnny Tedder, James and Bonnie Tedder, all of Hartsville; grandchildren, Lisa Jackson, Trent Tedder, Shawn Manuel, Brandon Tedder, Caroline Greenwood, Johnny Cade Tedder, Monty Wade Tedder, David Walters, Rhonda Coker, Stacey Runey; 21 great grandchildren.
NORMA J. RUDISILL
Mrs. Rudisill, widow of the late Horace Fraser Rudisill, died Wednesday, June 20. She was born in Darlington County. She was the daughter of the late Daniel Edgar and Estelle Fields Byrd. She was a graduate of Hartsville High School Class of 1957 and Winthrop College. Mrs. Rudisill was a teacher for many years, a Realtor, and former secretary/treasurer of Hartsville Board of Realtors. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Hartsville, the Joy Miller Book Club, the Red Hat Society, and a past member of the Darlington County Historical Society.
Mrs. Rudisill is survived by one son, Robert D. 'Bobby' Howell of Darlington; one step-daughter, Louise Rudisill Murray of Charleston; one brother, Howard Byrd of Norfolk, Va.; and one sister, Margaret White of Darlington. She was predeceased by two brothers; William Edgar Byrd and Clarence Fields Byrd.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Darlington County Historical Commission, 204 Hewitt St., Darlington, SC 29532.
DAVID SAMS
TOBITHA D. MAGEE
Mrs. Magee died Tuesday, Oct. 16. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Donald. She received her education in the Mississippi public school system and was a member of St. James United Methodist Church of Mt. Olive, Miss.
Surviving are three daughters, Rosie (James) McTillman of Hartsville, Theretha (John) White of Hattisburg, Miss., and Gwendolyn Magee of Clinton, Miss; two sons, Otis (Alice) Lamar Magee of Mt. Olive, Miss., and Charles L. Magee of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a host of adopted children, nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
The McTillman Family of Hartsville wishes to thank everyone for their many expressions of kindness and sympathy shown during the death of their loved one.
SHARON HENSON
Sharon, who died Wednesday, Oct. 24, was born in Hartsville, a daughter of Etha Mae Huggins Alford and the late Wardy B. Alford. She was employed with Darlington County Roads and Bridges.
Surviving are her mother of Hartsville; daughters, Erica (Mark) Chapman, Tori Matthews, all of Hartsville; sisters, Bobbie (Tony) Huggins of Hartsville, Janice (Lanny) Clayton of Roxboro, N.C.; grandchild, Elizabeth Chapman of Florence; boyfriend, John C. (Crum) Munn of Hartsville; nephews, Paul and Justin Clayton, Tyler Huggins, Spencer Huggins, and great-nephew, William Clayton.

ROBERT POGUE
Mr. Pogue was born on Nov. 6, 1971, in Hartsville, a son of the late Paul Pogue Sr. and Marie Brunson Pogue. He was educated in the public schools of Darlington County and attended Hartsville High School. He was a life long member of Second Baptist Church, where he served as an usher. He worked for Green Brothers Brick Masonry as a laborer for a short time. He also worked as a painter with Glidden Paint Contractors. Robert was an outgoing person who always made others laugh. His family and friends will miss his humorous personality and fun loving spirit.
Surviving to cherish the loving memory of Robert Pogue include his son, Antwan Moses of Hartsville; two brothers, Paul (Peggy McCoy) Pogue Jr. and Moses (Jessica Cabbagestalk) Allen both of Hartsville; four sisters, Laura (Charles Wesley) Rembert, Annie (Joseph Dunham) Pogue, Teresa (Andy Tedder) Peterson, and Hattie Mae (Robert) Dargan all of Hartsville; special nieces, Maria (Clifton) Davis, Laurice (Richard Bristow) Rembert, Sabrina Jackson, Ashley Pogue, Sandrina Pogue and Monisha Allen; special nephews, Willie Green, Rayshan Pogue, Jamel Pogue, Jaheem Robinson, Rodriqus Peterson and Je'veon Allen; his great-nephews, Devon Rembert, Lajareon Foman, Kameron Foman, Clifton Davis Jr., Kentraill Davis, Isaiah Brown and Christopher Kelley Jr.; many other relatives and very dear friends.
MICHAEL KNOX
Mr. Knox died Saturday, Oct. 20, at Chesterfield General Hospital after an illness. He was born in Chesterfield County, a son of the late Eddie Crump and Ruby Mae Knox Williams. He received his education in the public schools in the area and was a retired employee of McBee Elementary School.
Surviving are five sisters, Towanda (Larry) Williams and Eunice Sullivan, both of McBee, Bertha L. Campbell of Wallace, Mildred Thomas Savage of Charlotte, N.C., and Martha Crump of Cheraw; four brothers, Larry Sullivan and Jerri (Pamela) Sullivan, both of McBee, Soloman Crump of Cheraw and Leon (Anne) Crump of Quinby; a host of other close relatives and friends.
AARON BLACK SR.
Mr. Black died Saturday, Oct. 20, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center after an illness. He was born in Chesterfield County. He was the loving son of the late Carlee Timmons and Katherine Black. He received his education in the Camden public school area. He was a retired employee of AT&T; and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Susie M. Black of McBee; two sons, Aaron (Angie Davis) Black of Augusta, Ga., and Jammie Black of Newark, N.J.; five brothers, Garfield Black of Hartsville, Joe Louis Black of McBee, George Black of Charleston, Ben Black of Newark, N.J., and James Black of Kingston, N.C.; 11 step-children, Anthony Singleton, David Singleton, Tracy Lynn Singleton and Seporal Singleton, all of Savannah, Ga.; Windell Singleton of Augusta, Ga., Gary Singleton and Elijah Singleton Jr., both of Atlanta, Ga., and Dennis Singleton of Newark, N.J.; four grandchildren; five adopted sisters, Sondra (Robert) Ervin, Carrie Alford, Diretha Jackson and Annie Thompson, all of Hartsville, Laura Miller of Jefferson; three adopted brothers, Levester Brewer, Carl Brewer Jr. and Willie Scott, all of Hartsville; a host of adopted brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.

Steve was born in Hartsville, a son of Marion Leon and Linda Perdue Brown.
Surviving are his parents of Hartsville; brothers, Ricky Brown of Lancaster and Rodney Brown of Hartsville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell Brown.
PEGGY MORRIS
Mrs. Morris died Sunday, May 11. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of Vermelle Wilks Freeman and the late Willie E. Freeman. She was a member of Wilkes Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her daughters, Lyn Lovelace of Columbia, Kaylyn Morris of Hartsville; mother of Hartsville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Gene Gilbert of Hartsville, Marilyn and Ray Byers of Marion; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold Freeman, Dale and Margie Freeman, Roy and Karen Freeman, all of Hartsville.
