HILL, Dorothy
Dorothy Gertrude Poston Hill, 90, died Saturday, June 1, 2002 after an extended illness. Mrs. Hill was born in Charleston, S.C. on August 29, 1911. She was the widow of Dock Aimar Hill and the mother of Al L. Hill and Harold A. Hill, both deceased.
Mrs. Hill is survived by one granddaughter, Allison H. Cook (Marty) of Gray Court, S.C.; and one grandson, L. Glenn Hill (Kelly) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Hunt Hill of North Charleston, S.C.; five great-grandchildren, Lauren, Drew, and Curry Cook of Gray Court, and Samuel and Oliver Hill of Mt. Pleasant; three nieces, Lula White (Blair) of Isle of Palms, S.C., Virginia Young (Bob) of Moncks Corner, S.C., and Geraldine Short (Merle) of Old Hickory, Tenn.; several grandnieces, great-grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnephews, and many wonderful friends and neighbors.
Family, friends and neighbors are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, St. John's Avenue, North Charleston, S.C. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Park, Azalea Drive, North Charleston.

Mrs. Vargo was born April 22, 1924, on Long Island, N.Y. She was a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church. She graduated from Trident Technical College, receiving an Associates Degree in Medical Secretarial and Business Sciences. She was a retired Executive Secretary for MUSC Dental School. She was a Past Chairman of Mt. Pleasant Chapter American Heart Association, a member and Chaplain of VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #10624, a member and past president of American Legion Post 136 Ladies Auxiliary, Past President of D.A.V. Auxiliary, a member of Elks Does, and Fleet Reserve Auxiliary.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cooler was born January 17, 1913, a son of Dixie Cooler and Alma Sauls Cooler. He was a retired carpenter at Parris Island Marine Base, Beaufort, S.C., and also retired with 20 years of service with U.S. Army and S.C. Army National Guard. He was Baptist.
He is survived by two step-daughters, Carol W. Infinger of North Charleston and Shirley Ann Greene of Coconut Grove, Fla.; sister, Jenny Gleason of Mt. Pleasant; three half-sisters, Bessie Smith, Margaret Long and Betty Coley, of Beaufort, S.C.; four brothers, Homer Cooler and Clayton Cooler of Beaufort, S.C., Edward Riley of DeMott, Ind. and Raymond Cooler of Ky.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Dion Moultrie of 1818 Calks Ferry Road Lexington S. C. entered into eternal rest on May 29, 2002. He was the son of the late Joe Davis Moultrie and grandson of the late Oliver and Vera Moultrie of Alvin, S. C. Those of his wife Nancia Moultrie, of Lexington, S. Diane L. Baker, 50, of Goose Creek died suddenly Friday, May 31, 2002 at a local hospital. Born July 25, 1951 in Seattle, Washington she was the daughter of the late George and Laura McPoland (nee Hall). She and her husband of 33 years, Roger B. Baker, lived throughout the US during his career while raising their five daughters together. Her family was the center of her life and she will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and best friend to all. THOMAS, Jeanette
GEORGETOWN - Jeanette Oliver Thomas, 59, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Georgetown on July 31, 1942, a daughter of the late Edward Curtis Oliver and Geneva Cribb Oliver. She lived all of her life in Georgetown. Mrs. Thomas worked at a number of restaurants in Georgetown including the Holiday Inn Restaurant, Quincy's Family Steak House, and Thomas Cafe. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the widow of James Thomas.
Survivors include: three sons, James E. Thomas of Memphis, Tenn., Robert C. Thomas of Surfside Beach, and Richard O. Thomas of Georgetown; a sister, Anne O. Brown of Luverne, Ala.; two brothers, W. Edward Oliver of Surfside Beach and Richard C. Oliver of Georgetown; an aunt, Leta Cribb Ulmer; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, June 4, 2002, at First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrell and the Rev. Dr. J. M. Kirkland. Burial will follow in Elmwood cemetery under the direction of the GEORGETOWN CHAPEL MAYER FUNERAL HOME.
