LACKEY, Shirley
Shirley Jackson Fleming Lackey, 62, of Summerville, wife of Albert L. "Bud" Lackey, died Sunday morning at her residence.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock in Salem Baptist Church, Summerville. Burial will be in Summerville cemetery.

Mrs. Lackey was born on March 14, 1940 in Charleston, S.C., a daughter of the late Price Jackson and Virgie Craven Jackson. Mrs. Lackey graduated from Berkeley High School and Rutledge Business College. She was retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Oakbrook Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of Summerville; daughter and son-in-law, Robin Fleming Wallace and Todd Wallace of Simpsonville, S.C.; son James Barry Fleming of Summerville; daughter, Angel Fleming of Summerville; grandson, Jared Wallace of Simpsonville, S.C.; granddaughter, Kaycee Fleming of Simpsonville S.C.; honorary grandson, Shane L. Green of Summerville; honorary great-grandchildren; Shane and Michael Green of Summerville; brother and sister-in-law, Legare & Louise Jackson of Summerville, sisters-in-law, Martha Simmons of Summerville and Betty Abdon of Waldorf, Maryland; uncle, David Jackson of Summerville, 4 nieces, Tammy Jackson, Rene' Seith, Kelly Kennedy and Stephanie Abdon; 3 nephews, William, Christopher and Justin Jackson. Many cousins and special friends.
She was predeceased by her first husband Jim Fleming and a brother Leondus Jackson.

MURRAY, Essie
Essie Sweat Murray, 73, of 1102 Whitehouse Rd., Lebanon, S.C., a retired seamstress for the Manhattan Shirt Factory, died Monday at her residence.
The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, June 5, 2002, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Interment will be in Berkeley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. this Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Murray was born June 23, 1928, in Vance, S.C., a daughter of Willie Sweat and Annie Martin Sweat. She attended the Lebanon United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by three brothers, Bert Sweat, Sing Sweat, and Marvin Sweat and two sisters, Mary "Knotie" Heatley and Maybelle Wilder.
Surviving are, her husband, Clarence O. Murray; four sons, David Steward of St. George, Gerald Stewart and Bruce Murray both of Moncks Corner, and Donald Murray of Lebanon; two daughters, Cheryl Kowalik and Carole Thipps both of Greenville; a sister, Margaret Salley of Orangeburg; two brothers, William Sweat of Orangeburg and Eddie Sweat of New Jersey; and 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
ZEIGER, Carol
Ovie Carol Rourk Zeiger, 90 died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at a local health care facility. A Memorial Service will be held at a later at the Canterbury House in Charleston where she recently resided.
She was the daughter of Martha Luetta Rourk and Patrick J. Rourk originally of Cross, SC. Born April 22, 1913, in Merediths, Fla., she returned to Charleston and attended Craft Elementary and Memminger High Schools.
Mrs. Zeiger was formerly married
to the late Lt. Col (Ret.) Clarence Leo (Larry) Zeiger, Jr., a native of N.Y., N.Y., who was a fighter pilot in the United States Marine Corps. LTC Zeiger served in Japan, was attached to the United States Embassy in Oslo, Norway, and was based at Quantico, Va., Cherry Point, N.C. and Pensacola, Fla.
Prior to returning to Charleston twenty years ago, she lived in St. Augustine, Fla., and Houston, Tx. She was a devoted daughter who cared for her mother for many years. Mrs. Zeiger was a member if Berachah Church in Houston, and faithfully continued her affiliation through Bible study with Pastor R.B. Thieme, Jr., until her death.
Mrs. Zeiger was predeceased by her parents, her former husband LTC. (Ret) Zeiger of California, sister Nella (Mrs. John) Murray, brothers Frederick and Drewery (Mac) Rourk all of Florida, and beloved life long friend Virginia McKenzie Wilson of Charleston. Surviving family include cousins Ellen R. (Mrs. Tom) Cross and Cecil Rourk of Charleston. Her Goddaughter Eileen Wilson Blackwell of 907 Santee Dr., Florence, SC 29501, survives her. Other surviving close friends include Ralph A. Wilson of Florence, Debbie and Oscar Belgard and Theda Burnett of Houston, Tx., and Mike and Faye Olsen of Brewer, Me.

Entered into eternal rest on the evening of June 2, 2002, Jane "Misty" Stewart Donahue, wife of Dennis Martin Donahue. Residence, Charleston, SC. Mrs. Donahue was born January 24, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Alexander Mitchell Stewart and Eleanor Pinkerton Stewart. She was a graduate of George Washington University and a member of The First (Scots) Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband of Charleston, SC, one daughter, Janet Bates Donahue and her husband Stuart Walden of Charleston and one sister Betsy Gustufson of Georgia.

Mrs. Weathers was born in St. George, South Carollina, the daughter of Cornelius and Mazie Hart Irick Shuler. Mrs. Weathers was a member of North Charleston United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for the young adults and seniors and life member of the United Methodist Women. She was a graduate of Rice Business College and a homemaker and formerly active in the North Charleston PTA.
Surviving are her children Lynn W. Johnson of Hanahan, S.C., Donna W. Beard of North Charleston, S.C., Larry "Bubba" Weathers of North Charleston, SC and B.T. Weathers of Hanahan, SC, one sister, Beatrice S. Murray of Holly Hill, SC, eight grandchildren, David Johnson, Robby Beard, Rick Johnson, Shannon Beard, Kelly Weathers, Shelley Weathers, Jacob Weathers, Travis Weathers and one great-granddaughter, Kimberly Johnson.

Mr. Cooler was born January 17, 1913, a son of Dixie Cooler and Alma Sauls Cooler. He was a retired carpenter at Parris Island Marine Base, Beaufort, S.C., and also retired with 20 years of service with the U.S. Army and S.C. Army National Guard. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol W. Infinger of North Charleston and Shirley Ann Greene of Coconut Grove, Fla.; four sisters, Jennie Gleason of Mt. Pleasant, Bessie Smith, Margaret Long and Betty Colley, of Beaufort, S.C.; four brothers, Homer Cooler and Clayton Cooler of Beaufort, S.C., Edward Riley of DeMott, Ind., and Raymond Cooler of Jeffersonville, Ind.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Diane L. Baker, 50, of Goose Creek died suddenly Friday, May 31, 2002 at a local hospital. Born July 25, 1951 in Seattle, Washington she was the daughter of the late George and Laura McPoland (nee Hall). She and her husband of 33 years, Roger B. Baker, lived throughout the US during his career while raising their five daughters together. Her family was the center of her life and she will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and best friend to all. Mrs. Baker is survived by her husband Roger of Goose Creek; five daughters: Lori and her husband Jack Nikfard, Redmond, Wa.; Kristine and her husband Eric Lindgren, San Diego, Ca.; Tricia and her husband Keith Thomas, Fort Worth, Tx.; Elizabeth Diane Baker, Battle Ground, Wa.; Sara Loraine Baker, Goose Creek, S.C.; sister: Colleen and her husband Frank Stratton, Concord, Ca.; brother: Dennis McPoland, Portland, Or.; seven grandchildren: Mitchel, Hailey, Jacob, Nathan, Rachel, Alicia, and Amy.
