IVA — Ethel Richey Ratterree, of Palmetto Lane Apartment No. 6 died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at the Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a retired textile employee. She was a member of Mount Bethel Baptist Church. She enjoyed the outreach ministries of First Baptist Church of Iva. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are son, Jerry Ratterree of Anderson; daughter, Jean Gillespie of Anderson; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the widow of Frank Thomas Ratterree and the daughter of the late Joe O. Richey and Essie Belle Ables Richey. She was preceded in death by two brothers; and six sisters.
Services are at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Bethel Baptist Church, Belton, by the Revs. Ron Culbertson and Paul Pinson; burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. at the church. The body will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Family members will be at their respective homes.
Mundy, Richard
ABBEVILLE — Richard Langley Mundy, 74, of 574 Watts Road, husband of Bobbie Sue Childs Mundy, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Harris Funeral Home.
The family will be at the home.
Hill, Burice
SENECA — Burice Smith Hill, 66, of 208 James St., Anderson, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at the Brookside Nursing Center, Anderson.
Born in North Carolina, she was a homemaker.
Surviving are sons, Joey Hill of Seneca and James Hill of Laurens; and a daughter, Jessie Hill of Greenwood.
She was the widow of James Hilton Hill and was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services were held Tuesday at Oconee Memorial Park in Seneca.
Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home of Seneca was in charge of arrangements.
Hall, The Rev. C.L.
FAIR PLAY — The Rev. C.L. Hall, 88, of 209 Hall St. died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home, Seneca.
Gilmer, James
HONEA PATH — James Robert Gilmer, 50, of 309 Armstrong Circle died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at the Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County he was employed with D&N Incorporated and was a member of Crossroads Fellowship Church.
Surviving are widow, Maxine Gilmer of the home; son, Mike Gilmer of Anderson; and two brothers, Rocky Gilmer of Honea Path and Chuck Gilmer of Belton.
He was the son of Emily Green McKee of Honea Path and the late Robert Cleveland Gilmer.
Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Crossroads Fellowship Church by the Revs. Rickey Knight and Barry Bryan; burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery. The body is at Pruitt Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Thursday.
The family is at the home of his mother, Emily McKee, 205 Cox St., Honea Path.
Gable, Wallace N.
ABBEVILLE — Wallace Neil Gable, 68, of 904 Sharon Church Road died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at his home.
Born in Abbeville, he graduated from Sharon High School and attended Clemson College and retired from Ryobi (formerly Singer) after 29 years service. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Warrenton Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are widow, Geraldine Bruce Gable of the home; daughter, Shelby Gable Vargo of North Charleston; sister, Doris Powell of Abbeville; three grandsons, reared in the home; three other grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was the son of the late John H. and Laura Clark Gable.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Warrenton Presbyterian Church with Pastor Thad Ellett; burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home.
The family will be at the home.

Dickson, Douglas
ROYSTON, Ga. — James Douglas Dickson, 71, of 625 Pine Valley Drive died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at Cobb Memorial Hospital, Royston.

Crone Sr., David
PIEDMONT — David Eugene Crone Sr., 61, of 10 Hardeman St. died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at his home.
Born in Piedmont, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, owned and operated a heating and air conditioning service, and attended Piedmont Church of God of Prophecy.
Surviving are daughters, Alicia Jordan and Kim Stephens, both of Toccoa, Ga. and Michelle Vandekerkhove of Columbia; sons, Bobby Todd Jordan of Toccoa, Ga., David E. Crone Jr. of Columbia and Eric D. Crone of Piedmont; sister, Helen Chandler of Ware Place; brother, Raymond Crone of Pelzer; and 10 grandchildren.
He was the widower of Evelyn Elaine Bruce Crone and the son of the late Perry Loddrick and Cora Belle Anderson Crone.
Services are at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer, with Pastor Richard Smith and the Rev. Charles Bell; burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home.

ROYSTON, Ga. — The Rev. Boyd Cleveland Winn, 86, of Royston died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002.

SALEM — Edward F. Tucker Sr., 101, widower of Mary A. Tucker, of 609 North Lake Drive died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at his residence.

Brenda Gail Smith, 54, of 1102 Bleckley St., Anderson, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at the Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Anderson, she was a former employee of Mayfair Mills and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are son, Scott Smith of Anderson; daughter, Christie Saxon of Anderson; mother, Betty Burnette Wood of Iva; brother, Greg Wood of Iva; sisters, Karen Bennett of Iva, Lynn Carey, Judy Williams and Hollie Carter, all of Anderson; and three grandchildren.
She was the daughter of the late Charles E. Wood.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home by the Rev. Mike Fitzpatrick; burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
The family will be at the home of her mother, Betty Burnette Wood, 130 Drake Circle, Iva.
Pressley, Rev. Roy A.
IVA — Roy Andrew Pressley, 69, of 308 Chaffin Road died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at the Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born in Oconee County, he worked for Anderson County and was the pastor of Glen Grove Church of God of Prophecy.
Surviving are widow, Mae Bratcher Pressley of the home; sons, Roger Pressley of Bishopville, Allen Pressley of Due West, Ricky Pressley of Anderson and Shawn Pressley of Iva; daughter, Marie Brown of Anderson; mother, Violet Dover Pressley of Greenwood; brothers, Marvin Pressley, Dewitt Pressley, Duey Pressley and Jerry Pressley, all of Greenwood; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Lyman Davis Pressley.
Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, by the Revs. Joe Mayfield, Michael Ford, Kenneth Baker and Danny Driver; burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
The family will be at the residence.
Moore, Walter
BALDWIN, Ga. — Walter R. Moore, 60, of Baldwin died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta.
Born in Habersham County, he was retired from Wilbanks Lumber Company with 32 years of service. He attended Higher Ground Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughter, Dophine Moore of Baldwin; sister, Emma Maxwell of Mount Airy; brothers, Billy Joe Moore of Mount Airy and Phil Moore of Baldwin; and four grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Cecil B. and Susie Shirley Moore. He was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Ruth Gamez.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, by the Rev. Sanford Kimbrell. The family will receive friends from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
