REAMY, JR., H. James
Rev. H. James Reamy, Jr., 69, of Sebastian, Florida, died Friday, July 19, 2002, at Indian River Memorial Hospital, Vero Beach, Fla., following an extended illness.
He was born December 29, 1932, in Charleston, S.C., and moved to Sebastian, Fla., two and one half years ago from Ocala, Fla.
Rev. Reamy was a retired Episcopal Priest and attended Trinity Episcopal Church of Vero Beach, Fla.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Jean O. Reamy of Sebastian, Fla.; one son, H. James Reamy, III, of Vero Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Vicki Baker of Ocala, Fla.; Cathy Merchant of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Pat Curry of Spartanburg, S.C., and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2002, at Trinity Episcopal Church of Vero Beach with Rev. Lorne Coyle officiating.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to any cancer research facility, in memory of Rev. Reamy.
Arrangements are under the direction of COX-GIFFORD FUNERAL HOME.

HIGGINS, David
The relatives and friends of Rev. David Higgins, of North Charleston, S.C. are invited to attend his funeral services on Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at 11 a.m. in Charity Baptist Church, 1544 E. Montague Avenue, North Charleston, S.C. Rev. Dr. J. Charles Levy Jr. Pastor/Eulogist. Burial will be in Beaufort National cemetery, Beaufort, S.C.
Remains to the church on this Tuesday evening at 5 p.m. Visitation with the family from 6-7 p.m.
Rev. Higgins will lie-in-state on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. There will be no after viewing.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Mrs. Rosa Lee Higgins; his loving children, David Higgins, Jr., Stafford Higgins, Jeanette Bell and Delia Bishop (Ruffin).

SMITH, Barbara
WALTERBORO - Mrs. Barbara Ann Lynn Smith, 52, of 553 Phillips Road, died Sunday at Medical University Hospital in Charleston. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Wednesday in THE CHAPEL OF BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, WALTERBORO CHAPEL. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born in Suffolk County, VA, and was a daughter of Faye Hemp Lynn and the late Raymond Lynn. She attended Trinity Fellowship Ministries.
Surviving in addition to her mother are: her husband Phillip M. Smith of Walterboro: a daughter Nichole Batchler of Blackville; three sisters- Nancy Wilson of Palmetto, FL, Carolyn Hanks of Cope, and Joyce Hunt of Sarasota, FL: four brothers Milton Lynn of Midlothian, VA, Frankie Lynn of West Palm Beach. Fl. Jimmy Lynn of Jacksonville, Fl., and Billy Lynn of Bessemer, Al; and two grandchildren- Tyler Batchler and Cynthia Batchler.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday at the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, WALTERBORO CHAPEL.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Trinity Fellowship Ministries, 1114-B N. Jefferies Blvd., Walterboro, S.C. 29488.

SPRIGGS, Alice
Entered into eternal rest on the evening of July 21, 2002, Alice V. Spriggs, wife of Burl Spriggs, Jr. Residence, James Island, S.C. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Burl Spriggs, Jr. are invited to attend the funeral services of the latter, Wednesday at three o'clock in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. Burial will be private.
Mrs. Spriggs was born January 22, 1921 in White House, Kentucky, the daughter of Coger Parsons and Mary Wicker Parsons. She was a member of Essex Village Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of James Island, S.C; one daughter: Marsha E. Wagner of Summerville, S.C.; two sons: Derrick Spriggs and Daniel Spriggs both of Charleston, S.C.; two sisters: Catherine DeLong of Paintsville, Kentucky and Imogene Hines of Dayton, Ohio; one brother: Ora Parsons of Paintsville, Kentucky and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association of S.C., 409 King Street, Ste. #300, Charleston, S.C. 29403 or American Lung Association of S.C., Coastal Branch, 1941 Savage Road, Ste. #200 A, Charleston, S.C. 29407.

FOX, Robert
The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Henry Fox are invited to attend the Memorial Service of the former in the First Baptist Church of Charleston, Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at Three o'clock officiated by the Reverend Marshall Blalock and Reverend Lee Saunders Thomas.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the John C. Hamrick Lectureship Fund, c/o the First Baptist Church of Charleston, 48 Meeting Street, Charleston, S.C. 29401 or to Hospice of Charleston, 3896 Leeds Avenue, North Charleston, S.C. 29405.

WALBRING, Lois
Lois Walbring, 78, of Goose Creek, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2002 at a local hospital. She was born in Nokomis, Illinois September 11, 1923. Mrs. Walbring moved from Chicago to Goose Creek 10 years ago. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Goose Creek.
Mrs. Walbring was active with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and an integral part of Berkeley Senior Inc., Goose Creek location where she volunteered three days a week. Mrs. Walbring volunteered at the Goose Creek Library and worked as a poll worker. preceded in death by her husband Clarence Walbring in 1968 she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Jim and Doni Walbring, Goose Creek; two brothers and sisters-in-law Paul and Twila Presnell and Bob and Faye Smalley, all of Nokomis, IL; three sisters: Jean Fieberg, San Pierre, IN, Betty and her husband Herman Shermer, Adelphi, MD, and Ellen and Jim Smith, Nokomis, IL; two granddaughters: Heather Walbring, Goose Creek and Sheri Walbring and her fiancé Robert Morris III, of Ladson; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday, July 25, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Goose Creek, 141 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, S.C.
Interment will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner, S.C. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 24, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. at MCALISTER-SMITH GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL, 100 S. GOOSE CREEK BLVD., GOOSE CREEK, S.C.

MANCE, Dr. Andrew
Dr. Andrew Emerik Mance, 87, of Oakland, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at his home, surrounded by his children.
Born November 5, 1914, in Greensburg, PA, he was the son of Ivan and Anna Ples Mance, immigrants from Croatia, Yugoslavia. He was also proceeded in death by his brother, Marko Mance.
Dr. Mance graduated in 1932 from the St. John's Academy in Petersburg, WV and in 1934 from Potomac State Junior College in Keyser, WV. He received his BS in Medicine from West Virginia University in 1936, then enrolled at the Medical College of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, where he received his MD degree in 1938.
Dr. Mance came to Oakland to start his country practice on July 17, 1939. He interrupted his practice in early 1941 to serve in the Army Medical Corps, returning to his practice after four-and-one-half years. He retired from practice in June 2002. He was instrumental in ensuring that the Garrett Memorial Hospital was built when in 1950 he secured funding for construction of the initial building.
Dr. Mance is also the author of four volumes of poetry.
He was married to the former Elizabeth Philomena Kennedy of Charleston, SC who preceded him in death in 1988. He is survived by a loving family, numerous friends and generations of grateful patients.
Funeral services will be at the Church of St. Peter the Apostle in Oakland on Monday at 10:00am. Interment will be at the Oakland cemetery. STEWART FUNERAL HOME in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the A.E. Mance Fund for Support of Families of Developmentally Disabled Children, c/o First United Bank and Trust, P.O. Box 557, Oakland, MD 21550.

CRAIN, Medford
Medford Donald Crain, 62, of Crain's Way, Macedonia, S.C., a retired electrician at the Santee River Wool Combing Co., died Saturday at his residence.
The funeral services were held at 7:00 PM Monday evening, July 22, 2002, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, Moncks Corner. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720.
Mr. Crain was born February 29, 1940 in Elmire, NY, a son of Frank Crain and Helen Leonard Crain. He was an Army veteran. He was a member of the Providence Baptist Church and served on the Board of the Macedonia Rural Fire Department.
Surviving are, his wife, Juanita Elaine Dupree Crain, three daughters, Martha Elaine Mitchum, Theresa Ann Crain, and Caroline Webb all of Macedonia, a son, Medford Carlton "Butch" of Macedonia, two sisters, Edith Scheitel of Chicago, IL., and Charlene Whiddon of Pasedena, Tx., seven grandchildren, Tonya Lynn Matthews, Trey Mitchum, Caitlin Michelle Crain, Brittany Marie Crain, Ryan Abbott, Morgan Paige Webb, and Joey Webb, and one great-grandchildren.
