Mr. Bentley was born July 19, 1970, in Charleston, S.C., the son of Claude Edwin Bentley, Jr., and Deanna Dix Bentley. Mr. Bentley was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of both Hanahan High School Class of 1988 and Charleston Southern University Class of 1994, and a Crew Chief Surveyor with General Engineering and Testing Laboratory.
He is survived by his father of North Charleston, S.C., and his mother of Charleston, S.C. His wife and daughter, Lane Elizabeth Bentley both of Charleston, S.C., and his sister Micki Bentley Felkel of Goose Creek, S.C. Also surviving are his paternal grandmother, Jean Moore Bentley of North Charleston, S.C.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

MAGDA, Edward
Edward Frank Magda, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., died Wednesday, July 17, 2002. Born March 19, 1932, in Dupont, Penn., a son of Joseph Magda and Frances Kedrek Magda. He graduated from the Citadel with a degree in business, worked as a loan officer at the C & S Bank for 18 years and was the owner of Shem Creek Shoe Wharf in Mount Pleasant. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force who served during the Korean Conflict, was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was a member of the Bayview Acres Civic Club, had a love of gardening, and was a lover of nature. He was a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church. DRUCKER, H. Herbert
H. Herbert (Herb) Drucker, 77, died Friday in a Florence hospital.
Mr. Drucker was born in New York, a son of the late Charles and Anna Levenson Drucker. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and the University of South Carolina with a pharmacy degree. He was employed by Drucker Drugs in Kingstree for 25 years and retired after 22 years as the owner of the Pill Box Pharmacy in Kingstree. Mr. Drucker was a Navy veteran of W.W.II, a member of Temple Beth Or, a Mason, Shriner and an avid golfer.
Surviving are, his wife, Mrs. Jeanne Goldsmith Drucker of Kingstree; one daughter, Lesley Drucker-Reid and son-in-law, Jim Reid of Columbia; one brother, Jerome (Jerry) Drucker of Dallas, Texas, one niece, and two nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be 10 a.m., Sunday, in Beth Or cemetery, directed by WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
SHULER, Gene T.
Gene T. Shuler, 75, of Lake Wales, Fla., died July 17, 2002. He was an apartment manager and veteran of W.W.II in the U.S. Army. Survived by his wife Shirley, daughters, Sheila Jean Shuler Williams of Summerville, S.C., and Pamela Shuler Smith of Abingdon, Va. Brooks Ervin Piercy, Jr., 61, of 7501 Norman Island Drive, Cornelius, died Friday, July 19, 2002, at his home.
He was born August 13, 1940, in Cleveland County. He was the son of Brooks Ervin Piercy, Sr., and Vernie Cabaniss of Boiling Springs. He was a graduate of Clemson University and Appalachian State University. He was a retired Vocational Agriculture teacher and later retired from Lowe's Corporation.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kathryn MacKnight Piercy of the home; daughters, Lisa Anne Piercy and her husband Jim Johnson of Raleigh; Pamela Elizabeth Piercy of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; son, Charles Ervin Piercy and his wife Laura of Apex. He is also survived by his wife's three daughters, Kathy Doub of Fairfax Virginia, Carol Kelly and husband Brent of New Albany, Ohio, and Margie Firtzgerald and her husband Kent of Chantilly, Va.; and by his wife's grandchildren, Brian, Dillon, Kacie, Kristina, Cole and Brooke.
A celebration of Brooks' life will be held, Sunday, July 21, 2002, at 3 p.m. at RAYMER FUNERAL HOME, 16901 Old Statesville Road in Huntersville. The family will receive friends after the celebration service in the funeral home chapel.

TILLMAN, John
John Roy "Skip" Tillman, III, 64, husband of Anna Watts Tillman, of Charleston died Sunday, July 14 while on vacation in the Bahamas. Born in Charleston to the late John Roy and Mary Blackman Tillman, Jr. Mr. Tillman attended the College of Charleston, was a member of the Elks Lodge #242, and former past president of the Optimist Club. He retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard after 37 years as a Project Manager in the Planning Department. While at the Naval Shipyard Mr. Tillman enjoyed working at the Citadel Athletic Department where he ushered, and participated in other aspects at all athletic events for 37 years. His former wife Mrs. Patricia Anderson Tillman, and his brother Fredrick L. Tillman predeceased him in death. Surviving Mr. Tillman is his wife, Anna Watts Tillman, daughter, Dawn Tillman Mills and husband John of Charleston, son, John Roy Tillman, IV of San Diego, CA., stepdaughter, Leigh Early and husband Rod of Charlotte, stepson, Randy Watts of St. Petersburg, FL., brothers, N. Milton Tillman, and Donald E. Tillman both of Charleston, and a granddaughter, Kayla Mills of Charleston. Funeral Services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20 at the Citadel Summeral Chapel. Harriett Marie Hileman, 64, died on Thursday, July 18, 2002 at her residence. Mrs. Hileman was born August 31, 1937 in Orangeburg, S.C. She was the daughter of the late Charlie G. and Rebie Hutto Croft.
Mrs. Hileman was a Volunteer at Roper Hospital, and a member of Fort Johnson Baptist Church where she was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class. She was predeceased by her husband Lake Hileman. Mrs. Hileman is survived by her daughter, Laura Kinard, and husband Bruce M., two grandchildren, Brian Shinta and Justin Shinta all of Summerville, S.C., two brothers, Charles G. Croft, wife Mary E. and James M. Croft, wife Geneva B. and one sister Faye C. Brown, husband Wayne G. all of James Island, S.C. LAUDANI, Hamilton
Hamilton Laudani, 86, husband of 54 years of Gladys Hutchings Guy Laudani, died July 19, 2002.
The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Laudani are invited to attend the funeral services of the former Sunday at Three o'clock in James Island Presbyterian Church. Interment, Churchyard. A visitation in the Church Fellowship Hall will be held following the service.
Mr. Laudani was born in Pedara, Sicily, Italy, a son of the late Domenico Laudani and Rosaria Tomaselli Laudani. He was a graduate of the University Massachusetts, receiving advanced degrees in Entomology, Plant Pathology and Horticulture. During World War II, Mr. Laudani served as Medical Entomologist, US Army Malaria Control Unit in the South Pacific. After the war, he became Director of the US Dept. of Agriculture Laboratory for Research of Insects in Savannah, Ga. His last six years of service were as Director of the International Program Division of the ERRO, US Dept. of Agriculture, United States Embassy, Rome, Italy. Besides his scientific background, Mr. Laudani was a man of many talents, being skilled in landscaping, woodworking and tailoring. He was a "gentleman of the old school", modest, self-effacing, quietly religious, possessing a subtle sense of humor, quick to give approval and encouragement to others. He was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. He was a member of James Island Presbyterian Church.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by one sister, Helen L. Licciardello of Reading, MA; one brother, Edwin Laudani of Haverhill, MA; two stepsons: Richard H. Guy and his wife Carter of Gainesville, FL and Robert H. Guy and his wife Ruth of Charleston, S.C.; 5 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
