SUMMERS, Ida
Ida Lee Jenkins Summers, 64, of Reevesville, S.C., died Sunday, July 14, 2002, at Trident Medical Center, Charleston, S.C. The funeral will be at 1 p.m., Friday, in the St. Mark Baptist Church. Burial directed by BROWN & SON FUNERAL HOME, will be in Britt cemetery.
Mrs. Summers was born in Reevesville, S.C., a daughter of Mrs. Carrie Stokes Jenkins and the late Joseph Jenkins. She was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church in the Texas Community of St. George, S.C. She was married to the late Leroy Summers, Sr.
Surviving are, her mother, Mrs. Carrie Stokes Jenkins of Reevesville, S.C., three daughters, Mrs. Carrie (Mike) DeLee of Dorchester, S.C., Mrs. Sandra (Ricky) Govan and Mrs. Angela Folk, both of St. George, S.C. Three sons, Mr. Leroy Summers, Jr., of Miami, Fla., Mr. Canaan (Linda) Summers and Mr. Kelvin (Jamie) Summers, both of Raleigh, N.C., one sister, Mrs. Rosanell Jameson of Reevesville, S.C., one brother, Mr. Joseph (Gertrude) Jenkins of Reevesville, S.C., ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

MITCHUM, Bonnie
The relatives and friends of Mr. And Mrs. Elvin D. Mitchum, Sr. of Macedonia, S.C. are invited to attend the funeral services for the latter 1:00 PM this Friday afternoon in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Interment will be in the Mitchum Family cemetery.

COVENEY, Teresa
The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Coveney of Moncks Corner, S.C., are invited to attend a Memorial Mass for the latter at 10:00 AM this Friday morning in the St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, Moncks corner. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Lynn Carr Wyndham of Beaver Dam, S.C., widow of Burris G. THORNTON, Howard
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of July 17, 2002, Howard Eugene Thornton, Jr., widower of Louisa Edmonston Gaillard Thornton and Frances Beck Thornton. Residence, James Island, S.C. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services Monday at ten thirty o'clock in The Church of the Holy Communion. Interment, Old St. Andrews Episcopal Churchyard. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Sunday between five and seven o'clock.
Mr. Thornton was born July 2, 1919 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of Howard Eugene Thornton and Ethel Smith Thornton. He was a graduate of Charleston High School and the College of Charleston. He served with the U.S. Army during W.W. II where he participated in the D-Day Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He retired as Field Representative with the Social security Administration. he was a member of The Church of the Holy Communion.
He is survived by one daughter: Louisa Thornton and her husband Udo Schmidt of Hamburg, Germany; one brother: Charles W. Thornton of James Island, S.C.; one grandson: Cedric Thornton of Hamburg, Germany; two nieces: Deborah Thornton Craig of Summerville, S.C. and Carolyn Thornton Camidge of Morganton, N.C.

GROOMS, Julian
The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Julian A. Grooms are invited to attend the funeral services of the former in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Friday at 10:30 o'clock. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 413 Geddes Avenue, Charleston, S.C. 29407 or to a charity of one's choice.

LI, Sijia
The relatives and friends of Sijia Li, daughter of Hui Li and Zhongfeng Wang are invited to attend her funeral services at the graveside Friday at ten o'clock in Riverview Memorial Park.
