DUNLAP, Ann
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Ann Myddelton Dunlap, 88, of 750 Myrtle Drive, passed away, Sunday, July 7, 2002, at her home.
Graveside service will be held, 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Laurelwood cemetery. Followed by a 3 p.m. memorial service at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church with Dr. William Pender and Rev. Susan Denne officiating.
A native of Valdosta, Ga., Mrs. Dunlap was the daughter of the late Archie Myddelton and the late Isma Myddelton. Mrs. Dunlap was preceded in death by her husband George Williams Dunlap.
She graduated from Valdosta High School and the University of Georgia where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She taught Physical Education at Rock Hill High School. She was a member of the Rock Hill Junior Welfare League, the Debutante Club, the Trillium Garden Club and a member of Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sheppie Dunlap Williams and Richy Williams of Rock Hill. Her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Anne McKinnon Bishop and Teddy Bishop of Charleston, S.C., and her sister Adair M. Nunnally of Valdosta, Ga.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at the home of her daughter at 925 Myrtle Drive.

GOODING, Emma
Mrs. Emma Lee Altman Gooding, 84, of Rock Spring Road, near Varnville died Friday night at her residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Gooding was born in Hampton County, January 5, 1918, a daughter of the late J.P. and Minnie Lee Lento Altman. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late DeLacy Wyman "Doc" Gooding.
Surviving are, one son, Phillip Eldred Gooding of Erlensee, Germany; one daughter, Marie G. Benton of Brunson; and three grandchildren, Kimberly Benton, Denise Gooding and Michelle Gooding.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton, conducted by Rev. Charles Moore and Rev. Jule Young, with burial in the Gooding cemetery.
Friends may call at the Chapel in Hampton from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, and Wednesday until the hour of services.

DUPRE, Caroline
COLUMBIA - Caroline Fuller DuPre, 86, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.
Mrs. DuPre was born in Mountville on December 7, 1914, a daughter of the late Calvin Morton Fuller and Effie Weinbrenner Fuller. She was a 1937 graduate of Winthrop College, earning a B.S. Degree in Home Economics. During World War II, she served as a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army, stationed at the Army Rehabilitation Hospital in Hot Springs, Ark. She then served as the first dietitian at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Fuller was a retired schoolteacher having taught many years at Satchel Ford Elementary and Heathwood Hall in Columbia. She was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Columbia. Mrs. DuPre was the widow of John Young DuPre, Jr.
Surviving are, two sons, Daniel W. DuPre of Columbia and David A. DuPre and his wife, Marguerite of Surfside Beach; and four grandchildren, Jacob David DuPre, John Young DuPre, III, Diana Allston DuPre and Caroline Rebecca DuPre, all of Surfside Beach.
Graveside funeral services will be Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at 11 o'clock at the family cemetery at Palmetto Plantation in McClellanville under the direction of the Georgetown Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME. Officiating will be the Father Phillip Whitehead of Columbia.

WILLIS, Eloise
COLUMBIA - Service for Eloise C. Willis, 84, will be held, Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at 10 a.m., at DUNBAR FUNERAL HOME, DEVINE STREET CHAPEL, with burial in Beaufort National cemetery, Beaufort, at 2:30. Visitation will be Tuesday, 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shandon United Methodist Church, the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of one's choice.
Mrs. Willis passed away, Monday, July 8, 2002. Born in the Bethel Community of Fairfield County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Steele Clark and Estelle Chappell Clark. She graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1937 with an AB Degree in Mathematics. She as a life member of the Carolina Alumni Association. She began her vocation as a teacher in 1937 at Charlotte Thompson High School in Boykin, where she taught mathematics. In 1938 she married
USC classmate, George Addison Willis. Together, they moved to Memphis Tenn., Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Vicksburg, Miss., in rapid successions before settling in Savannah, Ga., in 1948. In Savannah, she resumed teaching in church and private kindergartens and then at St. Michael's Episcopal Day School where she later became principal. She participated in the American Association of University Women as well as Delta Kappa Gamma while living in Savannah and was a member of Epworth Methodist Church there.
Mrs. Willis returned to teaching mathematics at Savannah High School in late 1961. While at Savannah High School, she was awarded a National Science Foundation Grant to attend a math institute at the University of Chicago during the summer of 1967. In 1968 she was selected as the STAR teacher for Savannah High School. She resigned from teaching in 1969 to accompany her husband to a new position in Fort Worth, Texas, where she did substitute teaching. In Fort Worth, she was active in the Corps of Engineers Wives Club, serving as an officer from 1970 until 1972. After returning to Columbia in the summer of 1972, she became active in education again as a volunteer at Richland Northeast High School and as a private tutor in mathematics.
Mrs. Willis was a member of Shandon United Methodist Church and the Christian Home Sunday School Class from 1972 until her death. She was a member of the Daffodil Garden Club, the Tea Cup Chain Gang and the Allemande Square Dance Clubs. She was a talented teacher and a gifted seamstress.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher and friend, Mrs. Willis is survived by her husband of 64 years, George Addison Willis; daughters and their husbands, Jean Willis and Enoch M. Overby of Calhoun, Ga., Susan Willis and James B. Brant of Columbia; grandchildren, Deborah O. Kirby and her husband, Glenn, of Dallas, Texas, Walter Overby and Eric Overby of Atlanta, Ga., Ashley Brant of Charleston, Bethany Brant of Atlanta, Ga., and Laney Brant of Columbia; sister, Bess Clark Aaron of Columbia; brother and sister-in-law, Ray C. and Ruth Clark of Mt. Pleasant; brother-in-law and wife, Derryl O. Ann Willis of Charlotte, N.C. and 14 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant granddaughter, Rebecca Helen Brant, sister, Margaret Clark Meyers and brothers, Eugene S. Clark, Jr., and Theron D. Clark.
TANNER, Jr., Kenneth
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of July 7, 2002, Kenneth Wendell Tanner, Jr. Residence, James Island, S.C. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial services, Thursday, July 11, 2002, at 11 o'clock in John Wesley United Methodist Church. Burial will be private.
Mr. Tanner was born November 16, 1961, in Charleston, S.C. He was a heating and air conditioning technician.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth W. Tanner, Sr., of James Island, S.C.; maternal grandmother, Mazie M. Robertson of Walterboro, S.C.; one sister, Chrisanne T. Porter and her husband Wes of James Island, S.C.; one brother, Bruce E. Tanner of James Island, S.C.; one nephew, Matthew W. Porter of James Island, S.C.

DeJOY, Paula
Paula Anne DeJoy, 48, of North Charleston, and wife of Frank M. DeJoy, died Saturday, July 6, 2002 at her residence. Mrs. DeJoy, the daughter of Oliver Dion of Hickory, N.C. and the late Barbara Dion, was born in Lynn, Ma. on December 6, 1953.
Paula Anne DeJoy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. She also worked as a Dental Assistant for over 20 years.
Survivors include her husband, Frank, of 20 years; 1 son, Keith A. DeJoy of Savannah, Ga.; 1 daughter, Jennifer L. Craft and her husband, David M. Craft, of Ft. Washington, MD. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, David M. Craft, Jr. (DJ) and Dominic A. Craft of Ft. Washington, Md. The CREMATION CENTER OF CHARLESTON is serving the DeJoy Family.
