ZEIGLER, Arthur
SAVANNAH - Arthur Everett Zeigler entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at Riverview Health & Rehabilitation Home. He was born in Florence, S.C. to Sue Grooms and William C. Zeigler on November 6, 1917 and attended schools in both Washington, D.C. and Charleston, S.C. He was employed by South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. for forty years and was a member of the Pivot Club. On October 15, 1944, he married
Mervin Burn of Charleston who currently resides in Savannah. He is survived by his children: Janice Zeigler Cuzzell and her husband Tony of Savannah, Gary Arthur Zeigler of Columbia, S.C., and Hope Zeigler Salvo, her husband Lawrence, & grandchildren, Scott, Abbey, Tradd, and Libby Salvo, all of Eldersburg, MD.

MOORE, Jimmie
Captain Jimmie Rodgers Moore, USN Retired, 70, died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at his home in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Born January 11, 1932, in Sapps, ALA., Captain Moore was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James B. Moore. He joined the navy as an enlisted man following graduation from Aliceville High School in 1949. To highlight only a few of his many accomplishments in more than 30 years active duty, he graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, commanded two conventional submarines, commissioned the Navy's first all new SSN 688 class nuclear submarines squadron, and served as Plans Officer for the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. Following his retirement, Capt. Moore earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Suffolk University Law School, Boston, MA. He spent much of his time as a Master Gardener in Mount Pleasant. Survivors include his wife, Jacquelyn H. Moore, Mt. Pleasant; one son, David Spencer Moore, Virginia Beach, VA; two daughters: Jennifer Susan Moore, Alexandria, VA, Jessica Marie Moore, Bogota, NJ; two brothers: James Gilbert Moore, Alexandria, VA, Jessica Marie Moore, Bogota, NJ; two brothers: James Gilbert Moore, Aliceville, ALA, James Britt Moore, Jr., Northport, ALA; four sisters: Frances Harrice Rogers, Tuscalcosa, ALA; Lonnie Evelyn Sheppard, Tuscaloosa, ALA; Jannet Moore Crawford, Northport, ALA; Helen Sarah Boston, Pensacola, FLA; and two grandchildren: James and Nicole Beauchamp. Services will be held Monday, July 8th, 11a.m., at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest cemetery in Sapps, Alabama. Anna M. Bohn, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., widow of Otto Bohn died Friday, July 05, 2002 in a local nursing home. Mrs. Bohn was born in Sheppton, PA, a daughter of Steven Neuberger and Charlotte Horvath Neuberger. She retired from Chase Manhattan Bank as an Accounts Clerk.
Surviving are two sons, Robert W. Bohn of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and Joseph R. Bohn of Treasure Island, Florida, one sister, Betty Scheetz of Iselin, NJ and two grandchildren, Allison Bohn of Alexandria, VA and Matthew Bohn of Cedar Mountain, NC.

WALTERBORO - Gladys H. Smith, 51, wife of Elder Don H. Smith, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002.
The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2002, in Greater St. James Church, Walterboro. Burial will be in Westview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Smith was born in Colleton County and was the daughter of the late Augusta Hampleton and Bessie Felder Hampleton. She attended the public schools in Colleton County and was employed with the Colleton County Board of Disability.
Mrs. Smith was a member of Faith Tabernacle Deliverance Temple in Orangeburg, S.C. and worked faithfully in her church and on the usher board.
Surviving are: her husband, Elder Don H. Smith, one son, Don Dester Smith, both of Walterboro; three brothers, Alphonso Hampleton and Furman Hampleton, both of Cottageville and Gus Hampleton of Connecticut; five sisters, Annie Miller (Norris), Cottageville, Martha Thompson and Ruby Hampleton, both of Walterboro, Rose Hampleton, Beaufort and Ruth Cunningham (Bill) of Queens, N.Y. and her father-in-law, John H. Smith of Walterboro.

KRAUSE, Richard
Richard P. Krause, 95, of Charleston died Tuesday, July 2nd at a local nursing facility. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Rinehardt and Anna Hoegel Krause. He was the husband of the late Ethel E. Byrd Krause. Mr. Krause a retired baker. He was a former member of Ft. Pierce First Baptist Church were her served in many different capacities for over 40 years. After retirement Mr. Krause moved to Charleston he became a member of Fort Johnson Baptist Church and later joined James Island Presbyterian Church and attended until he became ill. Mr. Krause is survived by his daughter, Demaries Atwood of Charleston, three sons, Richard Krause, Jr., of Del Rio, Tenn., Darrell Krause, of Fort White, FL., John Raymond Krause of Carlsbad, New Mexico, a sister, Joy Roberson of Kissimmee, FL., and was predeceased by his sister Violet Brock. Also surviving Mr. Krause or fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Holy Cross cemetery.
