EADDY, Emmett
SURFSIDE BEACH - Emmett I. Eaddy, retired U.S. Navy SHC, of South Bay Lakes, died Monday July 7, 2002 at his residence.
Born in Myrtle Beach he was the son of the late Ervin D. and Nada Abrams Eaddy.
Mr. Eaddy was a retired master plumber, the former owner of Emmett Eaddy Plumbing Company, and a Korean and Vietnam Navy veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Miriam Eaddy, son, Emmett L. Eaddy, Jr. of Socastee, daughters, Leeann Wilson of Myrtle Beach, and Teresa Ann Eaddy of Surfside Beach, 3 grandchildren, Abigail, Sarah and Raul, brother, David O. Eaddy of Myrtle Beach, 3 sisters, Sadie Mae Cox of Conway, Carolyn Fitzgerald of Jacksonville, Fla. and Katie Lucille Stubbs of Logan, N.M. and 3 step-sons, Raul Rodriguez of Fla., William Pizarro, Surfside Beach, and step-daughter, Joselyn Pizarro, Surfside Beach.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Wilson.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Ocean Woodscemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at GOLDFINCH FUNERAL HOME, BEACH CHAPEL.

Brenda Shrout Mahan, 57, of Moncks Corner, S.C., died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at M.U.S.C.

Mrs. Mahan was born in Maysville, Kentucky, on August 28, 1944, a daughter of Herd C. Shrout and Helen Duncan Shrout. She was a graduate of Good Samaritan Nursing School in Kentucky and was formerly a registered nurse with the Berkeley County Health Department and the S.C. Department of Mental Health.
Mrs. Mahan was a member of the Moncks Corner United Methodist Church where she was serving as president of the Bobo Circle. Among her activities were annual participation in Camp Blue Bird and serving as a surrogate "grandmother" to countless children.
Surviving are, her husband, William E. Mahan; two sons, Forest E. Mahan of Columbia and William C. Mahan of Atlanta, Ga.; her parents of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; a sister, Marilyn (Larry) Mitchell of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; a brother, Rodney (Sharon) Shrout of Louisville, Kentucky; two aunts, Delores Gilmore of Lakeland, Fla. and Sarah Fitzwater of Savona, N.Y.; five nieces and nephews, Adam, Andrew, Jonathan, Tyler and Shawna; and five grand-nieces and nephews, Abraham, Aaron, Addison, Evan, and Analiese.
SANTOS, Jr., Harry
Harry Patrick Santos, Jr., 73, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Charleston, died Friday, June 28, 2002 in Florida.
Mr. Santos was born in Charleston, S.C. Saturday, August 18, 1928 the son of Harry Patrick and Dorothy Elizabeth Bray Santos. He was the retired founder and operator of Harry Santos and Company, Inc., a ship chandler company that supplied most of the cruise ships in Port Everglades. Mr. Santos was a founding member of the Port Everglades Assoc. and very influential in the development of Port Everglades, also a member of the Ft. Lauderdale Yacht Club, Ft. Lauderdale Country Club, The One Hundred Club, the National Association of Marine Supplies, Propeller Club of U.S., the Elks Club, a charter member of the Tower Club, served on the board of directors of Southeast Bank and was an avid sport fisherman. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jean Howerton Santos; a son, Harry P. Santos, III and his wife Diana of Plantation, Fla.; grandson, Harry P. Santos, IV; a sister, Dorothy Santos of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and a brother, Robert A. Santos and his wife, Roberta of Plantation, Fla. CHASSEREAU, Lurlene
HAMPTON - Mrs. Lurlene Mixon Chassereau, 83, of 1090 Bamberg Highway, Hampton, died Monday morning in the Allendale County Hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Chassereau was born in Hampton County, October 17, 1918 a daughter of the late Duncan Mixon and Cornelia Lightsey Mixon Long. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Crocketville Home Demonstration Club. She was a member of the Hampton 1st Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and had been active in the W.M.U. She was the widow of the late William Dallie Chassereau.
Surviving are two daughters, Cornelia "Connie" Wooten of Estill and Claire Smoak of Walterboro; one sister, Dora Smith of Estill; and one step-brother, Bryan Long of Greenville. There are 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME, conducted by Rev. Dr. Greg Clements, with burial in the Hampton cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel in Hampton from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and Wednesday morning prior to services.
