HEYWARD, Nora
Mrs. Nora Capers Heyward, age 70, of 7233 Old State Rd. Holly Hill, S.C. died Friday, June 28, 2002, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Capers was born to the late Albert Capers and Ether Capers Butler on November 15, 1927 in Holly Hill, S.C. She received her education in the public schools of Orangeburg County. At an early age, she joined Target A.M.E. Church. She was a member of the Usher Board, Angelic Choir, and President of Stewardess Board Number 6. She was joined in holy matrimony to Mr. James Heyward, Sr. To this union, eight children were born.
Survivors: her husband, James Heyward, Sr. of the home; four sons: John (Betty) Heyward of Bronx, N.Y., James (Lillie) Heyward, Jr. of Johns Island, Jasper Heyward of Charleston, S.C., and Horace (Carol) Heyward of Stone Mountain, Ga.; three daughters: Martha Void of Santee, and Dorothy (Curtis) Griffin and Cathy (Timothy) Taylor of Johns Island; her stepmother, Gloria Capers Hilton of Manning; four sisters: Maggie Capers of holly Hill, Brenda Lougheed and Cathy Capers of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Adrienne Moran of Dallas, Tex.; three brothers: Harold Wilborn and Leroy Butler of Holly Hill, and Albert Capers, Jr. of Dallas, Tex.; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Her funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at the Greater Target A.M.E. Church in Holly Hill. Rev. A. J. Blake is officiating. Interment: Target cemetery.

SAULS, Mary
KINGSTREE- Mary Ann Whiting Sauls, 59, wife of John Earl Sauls, died Saturday in a Florence hospital.
Mrs. Sauls was born in Point of Pines, Massachusetts on November 20, 1942, a daughter of George and Mabel Whiting. Mrs. Sauls was a graduate of Chandler's University in Massachusetts and was a retired data processor. Mrs. Sauls was a member of Kingstree Second Baptist Church.
Survivors: her husband of Kingstree; daughter, Michelle M. Shaffer of Kingstree; step-daughter, Patricia Sauls Brewer of Murrells Inlet; step-sons: Kary Sauls of Murrells Inlet; Ryan Sauls of North Andover, Massachusetts; John Sauls, Jr., Clay Sauls, and Wade Sauls, all of Havelhill, Massachusetts; sister, Gloria Hoisington of Bend, Oregon; 3 grandchildren; and 7 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 3 P.M. Tuesday in the WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, with burial to follow in the Kingstree Second Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home from 6-9 P.M. Monday. memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Craig Lewis England, 55, of Charleston and former resident of Hilton Head Island, S.C. died Friday, June 28, 2002 at a local hospital. Born April 13, 1947 in Roaring Spring, Pa. he was the son of the late Kenneth B. and Marie England (nee Ruggles). Mr. England, a financial planner, owned and operated the England Company. He is survived by his wife Margaret M. England (nee Michael); two sons: B. Scott England, Raleigh, N.C. and Kenric M. England, Gaithersburg, Md.; three brothers: Carl England, York, Pa.; Kenton England, Hilton Head Island, S.C.; and William England, Roaring Spring, Pa.; four sisters: Barbara Locke, Trenton, Fla.; Susan Hoover, Martinsburg, Pa.; Patricia England, Roaring Springs, Pa.; and Gina Hershberger, Hartford, Ct.; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at the French Protestant (Huguenot) Church located at the corner of Church and Queen in Charleston, S.C. FORBES, Oscar
Oscar Ray Forbes, 87, of Goose Creek, died Thursday, June 27, 2002, in a local nursing home.
A private service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at 10 AM, in Beaufort National cemetery. born October 30, 1914, in Norfolk, Virginia, he was the son of the late Raymond Forbes and Mary Emma Dailey Forbes.
Mr. Forbes was a teacher with the U.S. Government Bureau of Indian Affairs. Mr. Forbes was a Navy and Army Veteran. He was a graduate of the University of Northern Arizona with a double Master's degree and graduate of the University of California.
He is survived by two nephews and their wives, Jim and Pam Forbes of Goose Creek, and Sean and Susan Forbes of Goose Creek; a great-niece and her husband, Stephanie and David Dickerson of Daniels Island; and four great-great nephews and nieces.
