Mr. Whitt was born on February 8, 1920 in Charleston, West Virginia, a son of Frank S. and Laurena Ferrell.
He attended schools in the Bluefield area and Hiwassee College in Tennessee.
During WWII, he worked for Carnegie Illinois Steel Corporation in Charleston, West Virginia as an Estimator in the manufacture of Armor and Flight Deck Plates for the U.S. Navy.
After moving to Charleston, South Carolina, he worked as a Quality Control Manager for Raytheon working Government Contracts and served as Secretary of the American Society of Quality Control, Charleston Chapter.
He worked for 7 years as Manager of Live Oak Memorial Gardens. He served a 2 year term as President of the Low Country Chapter of the South Carolina cemetery Association. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, Dorchester Lodge, Scottish Rite and Omar Temple, Wando woods Civic Club, AARP, NARFE, and NCT Chapter 187-A Masonic Family Related Camping Group.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie and 3 children: sons Lionel, Jr. (Chuck) and Michael David of North Carolina, and a daughter, Nancy Sue of Ravenel, South Carolina; and 3 grandchildren, Caitlin and Mitchell Whitt and Leisa Jeffus of North Carolina. He also leaves a half-sister, Mary Jane Stophel of Winston Salem, and a host of loving friends.

Debra Wittschen Hollis, 47, of Wayne, ME. died early Friday, June 7, 2002 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born in Charleston, S.C., August 9, 1954. She attended Stono Elementary School and St. Andrews Parish High School.
She is survived by her husband Richard H. Hollis. Two sons, Joshua V. Lupher and wife Katie G. and Jeremy J. Messervey all of Auburn. Three daughters, Natalie Raye Messervey of Auburn, ME., Haley V. Hollis and Hannah V. Hollis of Wayne, ME. Parents Jean and John Zidek of Cape May Ct. Hse., N.J. and Raymond and Phyllis Wittschen, Jr. of Florence, S.C. One brother, Raymond A. Wittschen, III, wife Deborah and children of Cape May Ct. Hse., N.J. Two sisters, Renee Beate of Columbia, S.C. and Kelli Weatherford of Florence, S.C. Grandchildren Kirsten E. and Jacob V. Luper of Auburn, ME.

MORRISON, Thomas
GEORGETOWN - Thomas Graham Morrison of DeBordieu Colony and formerly of Asheville, N.C. died in his home June 28, 2002.
Family and friends will be received at Mayer Funeral Home in Georgetown from 6 to 8 p.m., Sat. June 29, 2002. A burial service will be held at Lewis Memorial cemetery in Asheville, N.C. on Monday, July 1 at 11:00 followed by a gathering of family and friends at The Grove Park Country Club Terrace.
Born Jan. 9, 1920, in Greensboro, he was the son of the late William Worth and Daisy Gray Morrison of Greensboro, N.C. and Asheville, N.C.
He finished Mars Hill College and King Business School in Greensboro.
He was married
in 1941 to Sarah Margaret Robinson of Asheville who died in 1996. He was married
in 1997 to Martha Irvin Dees Hill of Greensboro, who survives. He is also survived by his two daughters: Mrs. Douglas Harvey (Anne) of Litchfield Beach and Mrs. J.W. Braynt (Debbie) of Kernersville, N.C., two grandsons, William Graham (Gray) Harvey and Douglas Blaine Harvey; three great-grandchildren; and three step-children, Susan Mueller, David Hill, and Barbara Hill.
After military service in W.W.II he and his late wife moved to Asheville, where they opened Morrison's Finer Furniture. In 1950, he was elected president of the Asheville Merchant Assoc. and in 1951 was elected to Asheville City Council. A golf enthusiast, he served as President of Asheville Country Club and was also a member of the Rhododendron Royal Brigade of Guards in Asheville. In Georgetown, he was a founding member of DeBordieu Club and served as president and on the board for 12 years. He served Fairway Oaks Villas Homeowners association of DeBordieu of President for many years.
His association with the furniture industry spanned four generations, from his father, of Morrison Neese of Greensboro, N.C., to grandsons, Mr. Morrison became associated with Cresent Manufacturing Co. in 1962 and later formed Graham Morrison Sales, Inc. as a representative of Cresent. The company he started and the association with Cresent continues with his son-in-law Doug Harvey, and his two grandsons, Gray and Blaine Harvey.
Having been a lifelong Presbyterian, he served as a Deacon in First Presbyterian Church in Asheville and as a founding Elder in Grace Covenant Presbyterian in Asheville.

JOLLY, Rosanell
Rosanell Bellamy Jolly, 81, of Hanahan, died Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, July 1, 2002 at Highland Park Baptist Church, 6211 Murray Drive, Hanahan, SC. Entombment will follow in Carolina Memorial Mausoleum. Born in Horry County September 6, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Richard T. Bellamy and Addie Ray Bellamy. Mrs. Jolly was a retired inspector for the Manhattan Shirt Company. She was a charter member of Highland Park Baptist Church, a member of the Charleston Rose Society and the Berkeley Hill Garden Club. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
Mrs. Jolly was predeceased by her husband, Mr. Coy Cecil Jolly; a sister, Ms. Ethel Morris; and a brother, Mr. James Bellamy.
She is survived by two daughters: Peggy J. Milligan of Greenville, SC, and Brenda J. Bailey of Hanahan, SC; three sisters: Maybell Denton of Mt. Gilead, NC, Roena Martin of Mt. Gilead, NC, and Mazie Causey of Longs, SC; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
